Singer Lesley Gore has died from lung cancer at the age of 68, reports Variety. The openly gay singer leaves behind her partner of 33 years, Lois Sasson. Read her full obituary at Variety.
Funny how a lot of people are so against marriage for same sex yet you hear love stories like this all the time. They were together 30 years anyway. Just hope she had some provisions in place that allow her to honor Leslie in her way as any husband or wife would be able to do. RIP Leslie.
I remember hearing "You Don't Own Me" at a talent show and asking my music teacher about the song. He went on and on about how Lesley Gore was underappreciated talent and her range was amazing. I still love her songs. I didn't know she was gay and don't really care, she was a wonderful singer who had a loving and long-term relationship with the person she was meant to be with. I'm with Sherry, I hope there was something in place so that her partner is honored as her spouse would have been.
Oh yeah, and cancer can go back to hell and stay there. Manson killed a pregnant woman and is still alive, but cancer is offing kids and nice people.

Wow, I never knew she was Gay. I thought she was the coolest thing ever when I was a little girl.
