Ellen Barkin Calls Off Engagement
Us Weekly reports that actress Ellen Barkin, 60, has called off her engagement to human rights lawyer Ben Emmerson, 51. The couple got engaged over New Year's, but Barkin began to have second thoughts about their fast-paced courtship. The couple met at the wedding of George Clooney and Amul Alamuddin in September. Barkin returned the ring to Emmerson.

So some people don't return the ring after a broken engagement?
ReplyDeleteToo bad so sad :(
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm crazy, but when rumors started about these two just weeks ago, didn't he deny it was more than just dating? And there never was a ring? I'm confused..maybe she's playing drama queen.
ReplyDeleteFancy, if the woman breaks the engagement she returns the ring. If the man does she gets to keep it.
ReplyDeleteMy SIL got engaged at my wedding. Guess the crazy happy love feeling was in the air. Sadly she never married. I think there may be something about the feeling in the air but then it goes away..I think that happened with Ellen. My husband thinks she is sex on toast!
@Sherry-Yes I can see the getting caught up in the moment(plus the beauty of Venice).I'm still mystified at who my other-half finds sexy,it seems to bear no relation to physical beauty per se.
DeleteShe's a top level cougar.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a big crush on Gabriel Byrne!!! If you're a fan of Barkin, checkout an obscure movie she did named Siesta.
ReplyDeleteThe soundtrack is divine (Miles Davis) and it stars: Ellen Barkin, Gabriel Byrne, Jodie Foster, Isabella Rosellini, Julian Sands, Martin Sheen and even Grace Jones.
