Vanilla Ice Arrested for Burglary

All right stop! Collaborate and listen! TMZ reports that rapper Vanilla Ice has been arrested for burglary and grand theft. Vanilla Ice allegedly stole furniture, a pool heater, bicycles, and more from a vacant home in where else? Florida! The police have already recovered some of the stolen items after (soft) serving Vanilla with a search warrant.

  3. He may be assholey, but this vid still rocks. He is being very cooperative; he was probably acting as renovator or builder or whateva. Dont worry; as he raps, if theres a problem, he'll solve it!

    1. I agree, Auntliddy - my kid knows none of the politics of the rap industry, but she loves this song. Of course, Vanilla Ice stole from the best - the bass riff from 'Under Pressure' is excellent.

  5. Who steals a pool heater? Someone in Florida, of course. Florida, you stay being you!

I'm loving all of these puns and riffs on his lyrics. Well played.

  6. Doesn't he renovate houses now? It is probably some misunderstanding around that I'm betting.

  7. ok ok ok I swear this will be the last time (I think) I will brag about knowing someone but I in fact knew him when I was in my late teens in Dallas. Right before he made it big. We had an overlapping set of friends and we wound up hangin out for a bit ('88ish)
Heard to believe but I did hear a early version of that song before it went out. Anyhow, he was actually a really nice dude. Lived in a tiny little Dallas apartment (traveled a lot though) and had a Sh*T ton of moto trophy's in his bedroom (nope! never went there with him) but I did see the bedroom a time or two and the trophy's lined the floors on either side of his bed going from small to big and there soooo many the only way to get on the bed was at the foot. It was kinda of an egotistical set up but whatever. He did have an ego and did think pretty highly of himself but when we all went out he would pay for everything (he wasn't loaded yet) and locals knew him cuz he always was performing at local clubs and such...locally famous. Anyhow, we were always "looked after" by him and I always liked him. Then the following year he was gone and hitting it big and we all were like "holy shit...Jess! remember hearing that song that night?"
He may have wound up a fulltime jerk (fame will do that) but I always felt bad for the guy cuz he truly just wanted to rap, nothing else. He worked really hard and took it very seriously and just rubbed some people the wrong way, got screwed by some others and left for dead. His story should gone another way.

  8. Great story wifey. I don't know why, but I've always liked him. It's got to be hard to have been a big deal and nothing.

From what little I've heard about this, it's a misunderstanding that will hopefully be straightened out to his benefit. On the news this morning I heard him say something like "it's too bad good news doesn't travel this fast."

    1. I hope so too!! He seemed like he was finally pulling it together. I did pass by his tv show not that long ago when channel surfing and I just couldn't get into it but was glad to see he was doing something he seemed to enjoy. He doesn't need one more "screw up" on his list, especially if he didn't do it.

  9. Great story @wahoo!
When Ice was on the surreal life, he put on a black spiky wig and I remember being in awe of how much he looked like Nikki Sixx! Same goes for his mugshot

    1. @Delphine..Thanks :) .this is really the only place I tell the stories...I don't say much about my past working "in the biz" to people in person (family gatherings, parties etc) cuz it just seems like I'm trying to be liked or something like that. I'm also just pretty modest about it cuz I myself don't think it's that big of a deal. And in truth most people/family I know, knew what I did and never ask many questions so I just figure, no one is genuinely interested. But it's fun to get it out here (appropriate forum too).

  11. I love his show The Vanilla Ice Project on HGTV. He's got a great work ethic and is making his way where many one hit wonders have gone off the deep end. This has got to be an issue with a house he was renovating. (I typer as I glance upthread and see califblondy already said that)

I don't see him going back to his Suge Knight hanging him over a balcony behavior days.

    1. I really like his diy/hgtv shows. He's very positive and has a great work ethic. His team seems very nice and respectful. Nothing surly about them. He also spends time with the Amish and I can't see many people adapting to their lifestyle - even short term. This is most likely a misunderstanding. He seems to take responsibility for his actions and expects the same with his staff. I'm very surprised how well he has turned out. He could be a washed up statistic but he's not.
