Blind Gossip Blind Item - The Contract Target

This handsome actor has starred on two hit TV series in the past few years. His latest performance received some serious accolades.

But let’s talk about his love life.

He was in a relationship for several years, but that is now over. Curiously, he wants to lock down a new girlfriend as quickly as possible.

"He’s not interested in dating around. He just wants someone under contract so he can get back to focusing on his career. He thinks he can trust her because she’s already been through this with [another actor]."

His target? A model who is the ex-girlfriend of very famous film actor.

We hear that the contract is now being negotiated by both teams. Interestingly, part of the contract emphasizes each person’s obligations through The Emmy Awards.

Perhaps that’s a negotiating point because the model’s ex failed to take her to The Oscars?

Jenny Slate Talks Relationships

Jenny Slate recently sat down for an interview with Cosmopolitan ahead of the premiere of her new movie Landline. Here are some highlights from that interview:

Have you ever been in a relationship like [the one in Landline], where it's maybe a little too comfortable?

"I like comfort. I'm also not really a person that stands for that. I ask questions. When I want something, I ask for it. When we were making this movie, I was getting divorced, and even though my divorce was amicable, I would attribute a lot of that split-up to the simple thing of people growing apart and not matching up anymore. That is what Dana is dealing with. Are we growing apart? Is that bad? Or are we just growing and can we grow together? Sometimes you can, and sometimes you can't."

What I also appreciated about the movie was that its portrayal of infidelity felt realistic. It wasn't like Unfaithful where somebody dies.

"Right. I think it's a pretty honest thing. “This is awkward. Where do we do this?” It's the '90s. There are no cell phones, so every time they're going to go do it, they are doing it on purpose. They have preplanned it. You have to sit with that really uncomfortable, sickening feeling, that you are doing something dishonest. I think Dana doesn't have the stomach for it. It's not her style. But she wants new experiences. That's the starting point for why she breaks the boundaries of her relationship. She's not confident enough in her relationship to believe that newness can happen within it. While her infidelity isn't permissible, it's understandable. It's a human mistake. I like that she isn't denigrated into some sort of "bad" woman or into a hero or any sort of majorly simplified character in that way. I like that, in the end, you see her as someone who has made a mistake, who's learned from it, and who now knows that it's not worth it to be in a partnership if she is not making choices and reassessing those choices and choosing again all the time."

Has your view on infidelity changed as you've gotten older?

"I understand it. It's certainly not something that I want to have happen to me. And I'm sure that if I had a partner and that partner cheated on me, that I would be devastated if we were in a committed, monogamous relationship. So of course, it's a devastating thing. But I also think, again, while it's reckless and hurtful, it's not usually connected to that person has somehow become evil. It's usually connected to weakness and dissatisfaction, and that's really sad. It's sad for everyone. I think, for Dana, the lesson that she learned is that she doesn't feel whole. She doesn't feel whole in the relationship. She doesn't feel wholly seen. Instead, she chooses to lead an even more fragmented existence and she realizes that, although it raises interesting questions, and playful moments about her and her identity, that it's not sustainable. Cheating is not freedom. Infidelity is not freedom. It's a momentary respite from stressors that are going to come back."

Who was your '90s crush?
"My no. 1 '90s crush was Leonardo DiCaprio. I had 27 pictures of him on my wall. And I, like, wanted more, but the internet didn't exist then."

Blind Gossip Blind Item - Her God Given Butt

This foreign-born songstress is being very careful with her words when it comes to talking about her body.

"It’s true that she didn’t get butt implants. She had injections. There’s a difference. She’s gotten them more than once. It’s not her god-given butt, but she is telling the truth when she says it’s not implants."

So, the next time she claims that her butt is the result of diet or exercise or Mother Nature, at least you’ll know that the real work actually took place in a doctor’s office!

Charlize Theron Talks Sex Scenes

Charlize Theron recently stopped by Extra to promote her new film Atomic Blonde. Here's what she had to say about filming sex scenes with actress Sofia Boutella:

“With Sofia, it was easy just because we’re both dancers and you have to choreograph those scenes quite a bit. Otherwise, they just become silly. There is a technical aspect to it, so with her, it was really easy because she thinks like me because we’re dancers. With the guys, they’re not dancers, so, it takes a bit more work. Doing a love scene with guys is different, but I enjoy both.”

The Juice is On the Loose

E! News reports that Orenthal James Simpson has been granted parole after serving 9 years in prison for armed robbery. Simpson will be released from his Nevada jail as early as October 1st. Just in time for Halloween! Simpson had this to say at his parole hearing:

"I do have four kids. I've missed a lot of time with those kids. I think I'm a guy who's always been a giving guy—even on the street. People have always come up to me. My reputation has always been that I'm open to the public. I'm open to everybody. Right now I'm at a point in my life where all I want to do is spend time with my children and my friends."

I've done my time. I've done it as respectfully as anyone can...I've not complained for nine years...I want to get back to my kids and my family...I'm not a guy who lived a criminal life. I'm a pretty straight shooter...I have no problem, none whatsoever, in living with those conditions.

Wherever we've been, it's always a crowd. This is not new to me. [But] rarely—even in the last 20 years—rarely have I ever had people give me any negative stuff in the street…I've basically spent a conflict-free life. I’m not a guy that ever got into fights on the street with the public and everybody...I'm pretty easily approachable. I've dealt with it my whole life, and I really don't see any problem dealing with the public at all."

Linkin Park Frontman Chester Bennington Is Dead

Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington committed suicide by hanging yesterday morning, on Chris Cornell's birthday. The LAPD released the following statement:  "Shortly after 9 a.m. this morning, we were notified by law enforcement of a death in Palos Verdes Estates. We responded to the scene and unfortunately confirmed that Mr. Chester Bennington was deceased at the scene." Bennington was discovered shortly before 9am by a housekeeper. He had been vacationing with his wife in Arizona, and came back to LA alone on Wednesday night. Bennington was due to have a photo shoot with Linkin Park on Thursday; one of his bandmates showed up to pick him up shortly after the police arrived. The band was to start touring in a week, and released a new music video yesterday. Bennington leaves behind his wife Talinda Ann Bentley, their three children, and three children from previous relationships. Read his full obituary at Rolling Stone.

Blind Gossip Blind Item - Not Eating or Sleeping

A lot of people are trying to guess what is wrong with this singer and why he has been behaving so strangely.

Is he drunk? Is he stoned? Is he on meth?

"Drinking isn’t his big problem. It’s the pills. Uppers (most recently Dexadrine) are why he’s not eating much, and he uses benzos because he can’t sleep. He needs to get off both but he can’t. Actually, even if he wanted to stop, he doesn’t have money for rehab."

Let’s hope he hits bottom before something really bad happens.

Elisabeth Moss Talks Accidental Activism

Elisabeth Moss, star of The Handmaid's Tale, recently sat down for The Hollywood Reporter to talk about the show, and how she has changed as a result of it. Here are some highlights from her interview:

On her Emmy nomination for the show:
"It's lucky number eight. But if you've been nominated seven times and lost seven times, you learn to be pretty excited about being nominated. You feel this sense of, 'Well, at least I seem to be doing well consistently.' "

On becoming an activist for women's rights:
"What I've learned is, now is not really a time to stand in the middle. You've got to pick a side."

On why she had never been vocal about these issues before:
"I guess I just didn't know anyone gave a shit about what I had to say."

On Scientology:
"It doesn't surprise me [that it's always mentioned] because I think if there was anything unusual, it would be there [in a piece about me]. So when it was my marriage and I was going through that, it was that. If something else happened to me, it would be that. And I [understand the interest], I'm happy to read about the thing that I don't know anything about, too. There's just not a lot else to explore here. I mean, my cat has asthma. It's something that we're dealing with: medicine twice a day and she gets a little inhaler. You want to talk about that?"

Andrew Garfield Clarifies Gay Straight Man Remarks

After confusing everyone last week with his remarks printed in Out Magazine, Andrew Garfield sat down with the BBC to go over what he really meant. Here's what he had to say:

"That's of course not what I meant at all. That discussion was about this play (Angels in America) and how deeply grateful I am that I get to work on something so profound. It's a love letter to the LGBTQ community. We were talking about, 'How do you prepare for something so important and so big?' and I was basically saying, 'I dive in as fully as I possibly can.'

My only longing is to serve and to keep the world spinning forward for the LGBTQ community in whatever way I'm meant to. It's important to a community that I feel so welcomed by. The intention [in my comments] was to speak to that, speak to my desire to play this part to the best of my ability and to fully immerse myself in a culture that I adore."

This young actress is on a successful network sitcom. While some young women obsess over boys, or money, or school, or their hair, this one obsesses over…. her nose.

"She hates her nose. She thinks she looks like Miss Piggy. She has talked about getting it fixed a million times and has even booked and then cancelled surgery. The only reason she is not getting it done now is because it would be too drastic a change for her character. Once the show is over, I’m sure she’s going to have a new nose!"

John Mayer Talks Style

John Mayer recently sat down for an interview with GQ. Here are some highlights from that interview:

Your personal style is always a bit ahead of the wave. What’re you workshopping right now?

John Mayer: "Oh that’s funny, that’s a good way to look at it. Well, I’m trying to integrate the Grateful Dead life with all aspects my life. And right now in that world there’s such a burgeoning scene that’s a combination of streetwear and Deadhead wear. A new generation of really great designers—guys who work as professional designers for fashion houses and for retail places—are Deadheads. The world of people making really limited run Dead-esque shirts that have a modern vernacular style-wise… I am so into this world right now."

When you get interested in something, whether it’s Visvim, watches, sneakers, whatever, you go in super deep. Where does this obsessive curiosity come from?

"Always had it. And I met really cool people when I began to extend beyond music. I met [Fragment designer] Hiroshi [Fujiwara] in Japan. Then Hiroshi would come to New York and I’d lend him an acoustic guitar. Then I’d go to Japan and Hiroshi would take me out. And then Hiroshi introduced me to [Supreme founder] James Jebbia. Eric Clapton was also in the mix, he walked me over to [now-closed streetwear boutique] The Hideout in the UK. And that really turned me on to it—’cause I’ve always had this collector mentality. I got very interested in fashion and how it connects with ambition to just go deeper into a world."

Do you think you’ve achieved a sense of authenticity in your life, in your interests and style?

"I think so. I think it probably works by way of, like, two steps forward, one step back, repeat. I’m OK with dismantling something that works in order to find something else that works down the line."

I have to say you seem pretty fulfilled going into 40. What’re you doing right?
"The reason I’m so happy now is because a lot of expectation that I had for myself was probably a little bit unnecessary. I have a perfect image of ambition and reward for my life right now. I know what to expect, I know how much I should be asking for when I knock on the door, and I get it. I really write down on a piece of paper what I want out of life and what I want out of work and what I want out of “fame”—and I have all the stuff I want. And, yeah, I would probably like another 10, 15, 20%, but that comes with another 85% of headache. [laughs] That’s the truth. It would take another 85% of my happiness to get another 15% to 20% famous and, like, culturally relevant or whatever. You know?"

So you’re actually intentionally drawing back from fame.
"Yeah, there’s nothing in my life that doesn’t feel good. I’m not being pushed into battle, I’m leading the charge. Because I understand what my vision is—and yes, I believe we can still use the word vision. So I don’t walk around going, like, Man, why is The Search for Everything not… Why is it not here? Why is it not in the Top 10 on iTunes? It’s a relatively introspective record. I don’t expect that people are going to bend the way they think about music just to meet this one record. I’m like, John, you made a record full of ballads and R&B songs that nobody knows how to promote because you’re not an R&B artist. So I think “Still Feel Like Your Man” is an ace level song and recording. I will stand up for that song any day of the week as one of the most pure-sounding, most interesting—it’s an R&B little tiny masterpiece, and I’ve worked long enough and hard enough with incredibly, insanely talented people to be able to say that.

It all comes down to understanding that the truest life of a real artist defies convention and therefore doesn’t necessarily recognize itself by way of accolades, sales, or any burning sort of modern day periodical relevancy. It’s also, again, ’cause of my age. Like, what am I, an idiot? It’s my job as an artist is to never complain. Artists should never complain about other art. You just shouldn’t. And I’m only making 12 songs every couple years. That doesn’t take up most of my time. Right now I just DM’d someone on Instagram because they made an incredible Grateful Dead shirt that’s based off of a Digital Underground t-shirt from, like, 1990."

Do you have ambition to create things in fashion?

"I don’t know. I don’t know if I’d be an asset to it. I know I’m good at it. I do a lot more designing than I admit, in terms of stuff for me or collabs. I have a very set idea and I’m very good at designing stuff with other people. And I’m really good at knowing when I’ve taken an idea as far as my head can take it and giving it to someone else and going like, Just fuck with it. If anybody got engaged with me and even started working with me for a couple of days, they’d be like, Oh, this guy just sent me pulls from influences that I didn’t know he even had. You know? The smallest world for me is the one that has singer-songwriting in it."

Billy Crystal Reveals Ridiculous Injury

Popbitch Blind Item - The Tory MP

On a flight to Australia back in the late 80s/early 90s, one traveller got talking to a now-deceased Tory MP. The conversation resulted in the politician asking for some tips for Sydney entertainment. The guy gave him a list of restaurants and bars and, just for fun, he handed the Tory MP a business card bearing the details of his favourite gay brothel as they deplaned.

He thought nothing of it but a couple of weeks later the guy got a call from the owner of the brothel. Anticipating a telling off for not having paid a visit yet he explained, "Sorry. I just haven't had time, but I will drop in before I leave."

"That's not why I'm calling," said his old friend. "I just wanted to thank you for introducing the guy you met on the plane. He's been in every day..."

Bella Thorne Kisses and Tells

Bella Thorne recently appeared on SiriusXM's The Jenny McCarty Show. Here's what she had to say about some of the dudes that she has been linked to, as reprinted by E! News:

On Scott Disick:
She describes him as "charming," but he "drinks a lot. I was never with him sexually."

On whether or not she and Disick are still friendly:
"Mhmm."

On Tyler Posey and Charlie Puth:
"OK, honestly, Ty and I stopped dating, and that was really difficult for me. It definitely one of the hardest breakups I've been through. That's actually when we did this song, so it really worked so well for me to let out emotionally. Yo, basically, like, me and Ty stopped dating. Charlie had, like, been tweeting about me for a while, and he was like trying to reach out to me, and I had, like, hung out with him like twice. We went to the movies; he was cool. Then I was really like, 'Damn, you're really talented. Like, holy shit! You're fucking great dude!'"

On Charlie Puth flying her out to see him perform in Miami back in December:
"I'd never done that before; I'd never flown up to see anybody, so I was like, 'This is cool! I get to watch behind the stage!'—especially because I was thinking about maybe going back into singing. I was like, 'Wow this is a cool experience,' and then everything just got way blown out of proportion."

On being photographed with Puth:
"We weren't even kissing in that photo. Like, that photo makes it look like we are about to kiss, and we straight up not about to kiss. So, I was a little butt hurt in that sense that it got out like that. And, you know, obviously I had to text—uh, call—Ty. Ty wrote me, like, 'It's all good.' He actually came over later to my house, like later on when I came back into town after Charlie. We just chilled and he gave me boxing gloves and stuff. We were chill, so I didn't think it would any of a problem, because I knew personally that me and Ty was cool."

On Charlie Puth tweeting about her:
"My bestie Alexa called me like, 'Yo, Charlie's crazy. Like, those tweets, yo...' And I'm like, 'What tweets? What are you talking about? I have no idea what you're talking about.' And she's like, 'Bella, go on twitter right now.' And I'm like, 'Ugh, Lex, I am in the middle of something; I'm writing.' She's like, 'Bella he just mentioned your name and Tyler Posey in the same sentence. You need to go on Twitter.' And I was like, 'Wait, what?' I go on it and I'm like, 'Oh, my goodness. Then I felt super bad, because I was like, 'Shit, he really thinks I was still with Ty. Like, no. I kept calling him. He wouldn't answer my calls and then he just starts texting me. I was like, 'Yo, that's, like, straight up a lie. Like, why'd you tweet that?' Ty calls me and is like, 'Yo, yo, yo, what's all this about?' He really doesn't like press and stuff and [Puth] should've just called me."'

I think I just lost a few brain cells reading that last paragraph.
