Kardashian Korner
Page Six reports that Kanye West wants to get into the beauty game. He has filed an application for brand his late mother's name Donda for use with a bevy of beauty products. This will also put him in direct competition with his wife's beauty line Kardashian Beauty. But is it really a competition when no one wants to buy either one? Let's face it, the only Kardashian line that's selling these days is King Kylie's.
The Gossip Life Blind Item - Reduced Schedule
This important player on Game of Thrones received a shorter shooting schedule than usual due to a personal life situation, according to my source.
'[name omitted] requested it. They granted it. It was such a short time filming that it'll possibly reflect in the character's screen time. We've never had anyone ask for a shorter schedule due to a vague 'personal issue.'
So, tell me, Gossipers:
Who is the important player?

Camille Paglia Talks Oscar Glamour
Camille Paglia penned a guest essay for The Hollywood Reporter titled Grandeur of Old Hollywood is Gone. Here is an excerpt:
"As a child, I had two pagan high holy days every year. The first was Halloween, where I advertised my transgender soul by masquerading as a matador, a Roman soldier, Napoleon or Hamlet. The second was Oscar night, when Hollywood put its dazzling glamour on heady display for the whole world.
As I was growing up in the drearily conformist 1950s and early '60s, it was hard to find information about popular culture, which wasn't taken seriously. Deep-think European art films were drawing tiny coteries of intellectuals to small, seedy theaters, but flamboyant mainstream Hollywood was still dismissed as crass, commercial trash.
Confidential magazine, a splashy rag specializing in steamy innuendo, was my main news source about all things Hollywood. I avidly followed the lurid adventures of my favorite movie star, Elizabeth Taylor, as she breezily acquired and shed husbands at the drop of a hat. Eventually, my collection of Taylor clippings and photos reached 599.
...Watching the Oscars on TV in upstate New York, I was in near-delirium at Taylor's unexpected win. My breathless state of ecstasy lasted for the entire next school day, where I felt like I was floating on a cloud. In retrospect, I realize that Taylor's triumph was indeed a huge cultural watershed, a prefiguration of the coming sexual revolution.
But a surprise waited. The 1961 Oscars were still being broadcast in black and white. A week later, a gorgeous full-color photo of Taylor regally seated at the Oscars party appeared on the cover of Life magazine. Her white cigarette holder was elegantly raised above a full champagne glass near a bottle of Dom Perignon resting on ice. The billowing white skirt of her floral-embellished Christian Dior dress was barely glimpsed. We saw only her starkly simple, pale yellow bodice that seemed to be channeling the golden glow of the Oscar statuette, which was offering her its adoration from amid a burst of red tulips, matching her full, crimson lips.
That night, with her magnetic composure and luminous charisma, Taylor exuded all the pomp and power of old Hollywood, from which she had emerged as a child star just before the decline of the studio system. Even her glossy raven bouffant was a work of art, because surely those intricate petals had been sculpted by her close friend, hairstylist Sydney Guilaroff, one of the creative geniuses of MGM production at its height.
...Taylor enthroned with her Butterfield 8 trophy is probably the greatest post-Oscars photo ever taken. Next would be a picture of Faye Dunaway breakfasting at The Beverly Hills Hotel the morning after she won the best actress for Network (1976). Lounging at poolside in her creamy silk dressing gown, newspapers scattered at her feet, Dunaway contemplates her Oscar with a tinge of ironic detachment and fatigue.
This bleak, brilliant photo marks the arrival of a new generation in Hollywood, hip, smart, and cynical. The mythic grandeur of old Hollywood and its pantheon of celestial stars is already gone."

“Like any couple we had our share of issues. But we went through a lot in a short amount of time.”
On Tarek's thyroid cancer diagnosis in 2013:
“I had never even known anyone with cancer, so it was a very scary time.”
On going back to work four weeks after having son Brayden in 2015:
“It was too soon for me. I was overwhelmed. Tension between me and Tarek was high...We weren’t able to properly communicate anymore. It got to the point where we weren’t even driving to set together.”
On her children's reaction:
“Taylor asked if we could get back together. We had to explain that sometimes couples get divorced but that she and Brayden are our No. 1 priority. We’ll always be a family.”

Blind Gossip Exclusive Blind Item - Shocking Oscar Prep
This one is a bit of a shocker, as this acclaimed film actress works on multiple projects every year and seems to lead a very clean and healthy life.
She will definitely be on stage at this year’s Academy Awards. However, while other actresses are preparing for the big night by getting their hair highlighted or getting a fresh round of Botox or raiding their stylist’s closet, our beautiful girl had to take care of something a little more pressing than her appearance.
She had to get sober!
She recently did a stint in a rehab facility that is not located in the United States. It turns out that she has a serious pill problem. Painkillers. When she’s stressed out, she goes to the pills.
What could be stressing her out? Well, she was very disappointed that a project she was expected to be nominated this year didn’t do well. Oh, and there’s that actor who was in the movie with her. Whatever is she going to do with him?
Yes, we’ve told you about the movie nomination issue and the boyfriend issue before. The rehab thing, though, is brand new.
We wish her well in her recovery.

Paris Jackson Talks Career Aspirations
Paris Jackson is one of the cover model's for CR Fashion Book Issue 10. Inside the magazine, she talks to Lee Daniels about her career aspirations. Here's what she had to say:
LEE DANIELS "So what does Paris Jackson do?"
PARIS JACKSON "Right now I’m doing the modeling thing."
LD "Well, you got the eyes and the height."
PJ "I’ve always wanted to try out acting, but maybe in a couple years. I really believe in activism and I want to do bigger things."
LD "Do you believe that’s even possible in the world today?"
PJ "Yes. I think right now a lot of people are really, really angry. And there are two ways that things can go: it can go really bad, or we’ll see that the “man,” the government, is not doing what it’s supposed to do, and we’ll take it in our own hands. Millennials, people my age, we’re going to run the country in the next few years. We can make this country what we want it to be."
LD "I guess my question to you is: is there time?"
PJ "I’m hoping that this year my generation will get to a point where we will rise up, not in a violent way, but start pushing for more liberalism. This happened with same-sex marriage. We pushed so hard for equality and it happened."
LD "I know you have a tattoo in support of Standing Rock."
PJ "Yes, it’s on my ankle. A member of the Sioux tribe, who is an activist and was protesting the pipeline, made the design."
LD "Who is or was an artist, in any medium, who speaks to you?"
PJ "John Lennon. I have his face tattooed on my arm, and the lyrics of “Imagine” in his handwriting. It says, “Imagine all the peace.”"
LD "If you could live and create art, music in any era—"
PJ "Probably the ’60s or the mid-’80s."
LD "Mid-’80s was everything! But I’m curious as to why the ’60s?"
PJ "Earlier, when I mentioned people rising up and pushing toward equality, the ’60s was the time where even the artists were rising up and creating love instead of war. That’s what I want to do with my art. I want to do what they were trying to do in the ’60s."

Naughty Gossip Blind Item - Which Oscar Nominated Actor Has Been Getting 2 Colonics A Day?
Which OSCAR nominated actor has been getting TWO colonics a day to get skinny for the award show?
The actor isn’t as young as he used to be and has been packing on the pounds. But after another male celebrity friend told him about colonics, he has become obsessed.
He has been bragging that his insides are so clean that only water comes out now when he gets the procedure done. Hollywoods dirty little secret is that a lot of celebs do this before hitting the red carpet. But twice a day, 5 days a week – seems like a little much!

Dev Patel Talks Good Hair
Dev Patel is nominated for Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in the movie Lion. He recently sat down for an interview with Vulture in anticipation of this Sunday's awards show; here are some of the highlights:
Your hair looks great. What are you doing to it?
"If I told you my hair tip, you’d laugh. It’s Cetaphil moisturizer. After I finish moisturizing my face, I rub the rest of it in my hair."
Really? Did you come up with that on your own?
"It’s from sheer laziness."
Well, it seems to work. My grandfather used to use Jergens hand lotion.
"In his hair? We’re on to something here."
Lion certainly has more star power, but I would say a whole lot of what you used to describe Slumdog Millionaire would apply too. So I wonder, by point of contrast, what was this experience like for you when you heard about all the nominations that it got?
"I mean, it’s such a beautiful experience. Because I’ve spent eight years since trying to find my feet in the industry, you know? And sometimes the work hasn’t been quite so successful. So when you’re all of a sudden in a position where you’ve got your peers recognizing some of the work you’ve done, it’s pretty overwhelming and beautiful. Slumdog came at a time when Obama was just about to become president, and everyone was passing around these badges with “Hope” on them, and it was really beautiful. And this, right now, in the world is a much more different climate. It’s interesting. But both films are beacons of love. And that’s an amazing message to be speaking about."
It’s interesting what you said about what you look for in a role. I remember Garth Davis said that you’re very insistent on not being typecast as the funny Indian. Have you had to tell your team there’s a certain sort of thing that you get offered that you’re not interested in?
"Yeah. And you know, it’s kind of hard because a lot of the work I do does stem from, “I’m playing an Indian guy,” because I am one. So people will kind of package that into me playing the same character all the time. But I think that’s kind of unfair, because how can you compare the character I played in Marigold Hotel to [The Man Who Knew Infinity], a period film about the first [Indian] mathematician to go to Cambridge? Or, you know, Lion. They’re all so different. To just boil it down to the color of the character’s skin is a shame. With this, what was really exciting to me was that the character is dissected into two worlds. It begins with the audience following a young boy reacting to a really traumatic environment. And he doesn’t say much, but he’s an Indian kid lost from his parents in India. And then there’s a moment where our screenwriter describes it as a baptism, where the character comes out of the water and he’s an Australian. And it’s the first time you see me, and he’s got facial hair, he’s bigger, he’s really acclimatized to nature and the earth. And he sounds different, he looks different. Everything about him is Australian. And that was something that really drew me to the role, that I was actually playing an Australian man trying to connect to a part of himself that had been dormant for so long."
And using an Australian accent.
"All of that. So that to kind of diminish all that work and transformation and just say, “Oh it’s another Indian role,” is sometimes a bit heartbreaking."
But I think it’s a very lucky and very good thing that you’ve been able to play such varied characters. Though I think I understand what you’re saying, you know. You have had the fortune of playing so many fantastic characters that were written as Indian. Do you find that Hollywood shows the same sort of imagination when it comes to casting you for roles that aren’t written in any particular way?
"Umm, not yet, no. But I mean, things are changing, you know? I try to look and find the silver lining wherever I can. But that’s okay. I’m happy with my piece right now. And I’m earning my stripes. I’m 26, so I’ve got a bit of time to go."
How did it feel to get that sort of individual recognition for Best Supporting Actor?
"Pretty overwhelming actually. I was with my best friend in India, and he was with me on my way to the audition for Garth. And [back then] I was having, like, a panic attack in the car. And I was just crippled with fear, because I hate auditioning. And he was giving me a pep talk. Trying to get me to get the confidence to walk in the door and claim this role. [Now] we’re in India, having finished another film together [Hotel Mumbai, about the 2008 attack at the Taj Hotel], and I turn to him, having received this call and I’m on the verge of tears. I’ve just been nominated for an Oscar. And it was a beautiful kind of full-circle moment."

Samantha Bee Talks Work/Life Balance
Samantha Bee, 47, and husband Jason Jones, 43, parents to Piper, 11, Fletcher, 8, and Ripley, 6, recently attended the Season 2 premiere of The Detour. They spoke to Page Six on the red carpet about how they maintain a work/life balance; here's what they had to say:
Bee: “We are stumbling through this process. I don’t think we’re doing everything perfectly, but we’re just doing our best. We don’t do anything for ourselves. We basically just work, raise our kids and then we pass out at 8:30 p.m. We’re not cool, that really helps. We don’t go out and that’s basically the key.”
Jones: “I don’t think there’s anything hard about [raising kids in New York City]. It’s not harder here, it’s just hard raising kids. It’s a difficult job...We all live within blocks of their school, so a snow day means nothing to us. We’re annoyed when a snow day comes because we’re like, ‘What do we do with our kids all day? They’re supposed to be in school.'”

He is described as an actor, which is generous considering his IMDB page. The pair have been "friends" for the past decade, and have "supported each other through the years." The source says they finally got together romantically a month and a half ago. They continue: "Scheana wasn't looking for anything; she just got out of a marriage. Blind Gossip Blind Item - The Return of The Civilian
A few of years ago, this male singer dated a civilian woman under a contract. While his fans did not like her, we repeatedly pointed out that she was one of the most genuinely caring people in his life.
After they parted ways, his life got very bumpy. She kept in touch with him throughout. Basically, she was there for him, even if there was nothing in it for her.
He’s emotionally vulnerable right now and he’s come to the realization that she was pretty much the only girl he knows who didn’t screw him over. They are hanging out together again as friends right now, but he is actually thinking about asking her to do another contract with him.
Before his fans go crazy, they should consider this: That might be a GOOD thing!
He’s hurting right now and could really use a stable female influence in his life whom he trusts. She genuinely cares about him as a friend, she is mature and stable for her age, she is trustworthy, and there won’t be any drama. “Dating” her again would be a very easy solution to his current problem. The sooner he gets his act together, the sooner he can get back to making music.
Right now there is no contract, but if they do decide to enter a new agreement, it’s going to be for a minimum of one year… so fans should be prepared to have her around for a while!

The Gossip Life Blind Item - Cast Me!
After Sam published his bite sized review of Big Little Lies on Monday, I received a text from an old friend that did some pre-production work on the show.
He insists that during the casting process an A list actress called to see if HBO were interested in her for a part, even suggesting she could play one of the already cast roles 'if Nicole or Reese just wanna produce.'
Ultimately, the decision wasn't down to HBO and the A list actress was turned down.
'She must've forgot that Nicole and Reese can't stand her,' laughs the source.
So, tell me, Gossipers:
Who is our actress?

Emma Watson Talks Activism
Emma Watson is on the cover of March's Elle UK. Here's what she has to say:
On taking a year off from acting to concentrate on activism:
'It wasn't about me necessarily proving anything… I was just thinking that I have this year to myself, so let's see what we can do to 'move the needle' and make a difference.'
On her role as Belle in Beauty and the Beast:
'For me, Beauty was the perfect, most joyful thing to do... There was something connected about Hermione and Belle, and it was good to be reminded that I am an actress; this is what I do. The film is pure escapism.'
On dealing with her critics:
'It really toughened me up…There is a level of criticism that comes with being an actress and a public figure, which I expect, but once you take a stance on something like feminism, that's a completely different ball game.'
On whether she would consider writing her own book:
'I need to see and do a bit more first... I'm no expert, and when people push me into a corner of "here's Emma Watson to lecture you on feminism", it's uncomfortable because I am aware I have a long way to go. I am not sure I deserve all the respect I get yet, but I'm working on it.'

LA Times Blind Item - Samuel L Jackson Knows His Worth
Samuel L. Jackson is mindful of what an Oscar win can, and can’t, do to boost an actor or actress’ profile. “I don’t think an Oscar moves the comma on your check like it used to,” he said, “because it’s all about [people] in seats.
“I remember doing a movie with an Academy Award-winner,” he said with a glint in his eye, politely not naming names. “I specifically had a clause in my contract that said I had to make a million more dollars than him because he doesn’t put [people] in seats — I do. It’s knowing who you are and what you’re doing.”

Mariah Carey Still Talking About New Year's Eve
Mariah Carey recently sat down for an interview with Rolling Stone, where she brought it upon herself to bring up her New Year's Eve performance once again. Here's what she had to say:
"I don't even want to bring this up too much, but whatever, we're obviously talking about it, the New Year's Eve situation – that couldn't be helped. It's just something where if I can't explain it to the entire world, then they're not going to understand it, because it's not what they do. Just like I wouldn't understand somebody who had a desk job and how to do that. I couldn't. I literally am incapable of being in the real world and surviving.
I used to get upset by things. This was out of my control, and had everything not been such a total chaotic mess, then I would have been able to make something happen. Even the dancers should have stopped dancing and helped me off the fucking stage. I'm sorry. It was a mess, and I blame everybody, and I blame myself for not leaving after rehearsal."
And on boyfriend Bryan Tanaka:
"I don't think we're being public in a way that my relationships have been public before. I really don't. To me, the best thing of this is to keep it a little more private. But I'm not going to not go places with him and enjoy our lives because everybody thinks, 'Oh, it's too soon!' kind of thing. We all saw the freakin' show. This is not a surprise."
Oh, and here's a little bonus scooplet from Outtie: In case you were wondering about the validity of her relationship with dancer Bryan Tanaka, he is, in fact, straight. I know, I was surprised too.

Erika Jayne Talks Sex Appeal
Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Erika Girardi, 45, who performs under the stage name Erika Jayne, recently sat down for an interview with People. Here's what she had to say:
On her persona:
“I’ve become rather desensitized to how much sexy I put out. So when people are shocked about it, I’m like, ‘Really, why? I thought it was great!’ It’s all relative. Living a more quiet conservative life, you come across one of my music videos and you probably are aghast, wondering, ‘Who is this woman and how is she possibly fitting in with these other women?’ But at the end of the day, I have much more in common with them than one might believe. We’re all performers at heart on that show.”
On husband Tom Girardi, 77 (they have been married since 1999):
“I lived Tom Girardi’s legal life with him first 10 years of our relationship. I went to every legal organization, every event — all of those groups he belonged to and those speeches he gave.”
On her husband's support for her career as Erika Jayne:
“He said, ‘I think that would be wonderful — go.’ I think that’s what makes marriage work — when you allow each other to be strong in their chosen profession; when you support each other and love each other. They broke the mold when they made Tom for sure. Tom is an incredibly special human being. He’s not only a great husband — he’s also a great father, a great friend, a great mentor, and a hell of a fucking lawyer. He’s so good.”
