  1. Just got home yesterday from the long weekend. We left last Wednesday and took my daughter to WA and Canada (Vancouver and Victoria) to look at colleges.

It's nice to be home. My fur kids were sure happy to see me!!

  2. We got a dusting of snow and ice last night. I'm in the south, so it was enough for things to shut down. But I work from home, so I'm working. :( It's the price we pay to get to work from home, but I sure do MISS SNOW DAYS!

    1. Where are you Brenda? I see from my friends in Raleigh on their Facebook pages mentions of snowmageddon and how disappointing it is.

    2. Sherry, if you see this, I am in Durham....about 30 miles from Raleigh. This morning is a SOLID SHEET OF ICE.

  3. Watching Season 2 of The Paradise on Netflix. I swore I'd just watch one episode and not finish the whole season today, but that plan has gone out the window.

    2. Karen, by the time I read yesterday's posts it was late, so I figured you wouldn't see it, so posting here.

I've been in your shoes and my heart goes out to you. Nothing is harder than making the "right" decision for our pets. I know it hurts. Sending good thoughts your way!

    3. Thanks ALNL. Today is somewhat easier. We've made these decisions before in our household, once to a very special rat terrier whose cancer returned and once to a rat terrier who had Cushing's. Now to a our fox/rat terrier mix to old age. I'm still grabbing four treats at bedtime and four dog bowls at feeding time, but time heals.

  5. Well, since satyrday my daughter and my granddaughter have been visiting. Since the cousins all love each other, my other four grandkids were here day and into the night. They made a clubhouse in basement, resturant in kitchen, massages in 2 of the bedrooms. They were actually quite good. Oh and i only have one boy grandchild, so he bought his bff with him, who by now calls me grandma too!every. Single. Cup in my house has been used and washes 3x. About half my towels, some pillowcases and some throws now hv to be washed, as they were needed for massaging. So yeah, ive been busy, lol!!! Now its the cleanup, lol. Also snowing here in new england, amazing amt of snow really. Amazing!!!!!

  6. I feel like singing "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood." It's 77 here today. Don't be jelly, you can rub it in when it's 115 in July and I'm melting like the bad witch.

Please won't you be my neighbor?

  8. Tried to work a bit on assignments and contracts, including the translation of a book about Veuve Cliquot but could not concentrate. Went to a nice dinner and just came home just drunk enough. It's time for bed.

  9. Yesterday I was scared to death that i was having an appendicitis attack. My stomach was killing me at the bottom right side and the pain was shooting straight up the entirety of my right side up to my shoulder and neck. I couldn't breathe without it making me want to cry. But, the weird thing was a muscle relaxer helped. A lot. A pain pill (morphine) did nothing for it. So I took another muscle relaxer and slept most of the day and all night and woke up today with just a twinge on the right side but nothing like yesterday.
Well, I started thinking what it could have been and my dad asked me "Did you put my clothes hamper somewhere (it's one of those big pop up kind that can hold almost 3 weeks worth of clothes) because it's not in the laundry room?" That's when it hit me. There were about 50 lbs. of clothes in that hamper and the Monday night I had picked it up with my right hand and then had to put it above my head and twist my body to the left in an awkward manner (If I ever get a mansion I'm naming it Awkward Manor, dibs) to keep it from hitting a computer that was open.
Stupid me had strained the muscles near my ribcage (which feels like a broken or bruised rib). I'd done it before but you know how you try to block out pain when it's over? It had been so long ago I didn't realize it was the same type of pain and injury. I'm glad I tried the muscle relaxer because I sure as hell couldn't afford a trip to the emergency room (as a natural born citizen I'd have to actually pay unlike, well, let's not discuss politics here lol). But all I'm doing is taking it easy and now that Dad is up and around after his pacemaker surgery (He did great BTW, and he really appreciated all of the well wishes many of you sent his way) he wants to take care of me but don't worry, I'm not letting him, my strained muscle is still nowhere near what he's gone through the past few weeks.
