Celebrity Real Estate - Joe Cocker Edition

The Colorado home of late rocker Joe Cocker has gone on the market for $7 million. The property is set on 243 acres by the Rocky Mountains. The house is 15,873 square feet, and contains a large master suite, a barn, silo, and two greenhouses. See pictures of the property at the LA Times.

  1. That house and decor is my idea of hell until you look out of the window and go outside.Absolutely gorgeous location

  2. Who knew he was this rich? Views to die for, downstairs too too fussy for my tastes, but bedrooms, baths, kitchens all pretty nice. Nice change from stark white we usually see here, lol.

  4. Wow...this place has a nice landscaper and decorator. It really is lovely. Wonder if that $7M includes the furniture.

  6. When I was looking at property I found this listing. I sent it to my husband and was like "well I found our ranch!" It's in a really pretty area. I'm pretty sure they raised the price after he died though, becuase I think it was around 5 million the first time. He had a restaurant too in Crawford.

  7. Beautiful property, architecturally interesting house (but way too big, it's like Downton Abbey up in there). Is that an elevator with a landline phone? And why is there a pig on the weather vane? I want to like the kitchen - it's spacious and cook friendly - but it's just too fussy.

Some of the rooms are superfluous - is it a living room or a library? Who needs a music room that only has a fireplace, couches, a piano, and a horse painting? Why is there an armchair in the bathroom? Why is that tub so freaking long, it's like one of those soaking tubs you see at mud spas. What's up with the weird Tudor wallpaper in the red-window bathroom?

In the last photo, the only thing I could think was Jack Nicholson and redrum redrum...

    1. Joe Cocker built it to bring England to him, or something like that. So it's very Downton Abbey ;)

Didn't he just die last year?

  9. his music gets played on radio all day long $$$ and his tours were always big sellers i personally have seen him about 8 times and each one was awesome!!!

i think if his estate put in a recording studio it could be an awesome rental for musicians looking to get away for a quiet recording experience
not to mention the ppp laws in co (Puff Puff Pass)

for a serious musician who needs "inspiration" or kanye who wants privacy while recording this would be a perfect spa/recording studio rental.. the mimi types too who can bring the kiddo types along.. from a $$$ perspective just put a little $$ to build a top notch recording studio and update the spa experiences the rich and famous..

just an idea.. food for thought..they might not get $7 if they were asking 5 and no nibbles at that either..maybe rent for a few years then sell to a professional studio company like belz studios who own oceanway in Nashville

  10. I like the house, it has a lot of potential and seems quite cosy even though it's so big. It's the kind of place where you can have a number of guests stay but still have some privacy.

    1. Julie, it's got a population of like 300. That might be generous. They don't have a police department even. It's in Delta County, maybe 10 minutes from Hotchkiss.
