  1. Golly! It looks like a fall-out shelter.

Love the stove. Love the overstuffed chairs in the bedrooms.

  2. Good God that's uglay. And no vegetation around the house. Just wide open lawn and blazing sun. Looks like someone scraped off a mountain and leveled the land and plunked a Getman Industrial bunker there. Ugh. And this guy collects art?

  3. I feel like I'm supposed to hate this house because of the stone and it being semi-underground, but I actually like it a lot. And it's owned by Steve Martin, a man I adore (seriously, read his books, he's fantastic). Definitely on my real estate bucket list.

    1. Seven..His books are very good. I adored Shop Girl and his description of women in H'wd as "ironing boards with bowling balls". So perfect.

  4. I don't care for most of the furniture, but I rather like these digs! I've always wanted a house that was underground or partially underground.

Shrugs, different strokes for different folks...

  5. I think it's interesting..noticed none of his famous art collection in views..guess he gave them to museums, or perhaps didn't want them in pics.

  6. I like it. I just went through the couch cushions and I'm about $10,000,000.59 short.

  7. The grey is putting me off. I think if the concrete walls were stained or painted inside it would feel more comfortable. The furniture and the pool area I love.

  8. Well, you can't say he is not consistent, he loves museums and the architecture in his house definitely looks like late '80's modern museum.

  10. Semi underground is a good idea in a hot climate.

  11. The article says he's trying to unload a lot of real estate. Money problems? He's been spending a lot of time recently on his music career and his book writing, neither of which pay as well as being a movie star. No movies since 2011, except for a single voice job.
