Shocking. At the office my govt boss guy today pulled up in huge truck. Unloaded extra large UV air purifiers & put one in each office. If this is happening here in the South in a govt facility something is definitely up.

A patient of mine was recently hospitalized for covid pneumonia. When asked about it, she told me that actually no, she was hospitalized for lung problems and the positive covid test was incidental. In case anyone was wondering how well the with/for disinformation is working.

It’s weird how many people in public health have forgotten how deeply unpopular helmet, seatbelt, and smoking laws once were. Our job in public health isn’t to win popularity contests. It’s to study how to best protect the health of the public, and then enact the things that work

In terms of public health, we are performing worse than a pre-modern society
— Anthony J Leonardi, PhD, MS (@fitterhappierAJ) November 10, 2022
A primitive society that does not have PCR would simply notice hospitalizations are back and would reinstate what worked
We are choosing to not use measures that we admitted lowered RSV
Why are people advising masking in “crowded” indoor spaces?
— Joe Oliver (@joeolivermd) November 9, 2022
That is misleading.
It’s an airborne virus that hangs in the air.
Indoor air flow is usually crud.
So indoor spaces can be crowded *with virus* even if not a lot of people.
Guys, let me make it very clear
— Anthony J Leonardi, PhD, MS (@fitterhappierAJ) November 10, 2022
The average adult gets flu once every 5 years
Before Omicron, covid was estimated to infect every 16 months
Covid dysregulates far more than flu, it infects T cells and depletes dendritic cells
What do you think the cumulative effect will be?
I don't know what else can I say, but sudden deaths by heart attacks and strokes have become "the new fad", news all the time, and folk's bad tidings, and nobody anywhere links it to sars2.
— Xabier Ostale (@xabitron1) November 7, 2022

"Dr. Anthony Leonardi [@fitterhappierAJ} is a lightning rod for debate. If he’s right, this pandemic poses a greater threat than widely assumed."

When we all started wearing masks (and staying home) in 2020, it slowed covid, but also ⬇️ flu and RSV far more than many expected. That’s why it now makes more sense to recommend masks, and “nudges” like paid time off to encourage isolation if sick, with rising flu/ rsv/ covid.
