Chelsea Handler Disses Chelsea Lately

Chelsea Lately recently spoke at a conference for Code/Media. She also took some digs at her old show:
"The subject matter I was dealing with on E!, you know, it was a fun way to get started and kind of have a great time. And then after a while, I just was like, I'm so much smarter than that show was, and I wanted to be doing a show that was smarter than I was."

On departing from E!:
"It's nice to be involved in a show where I do respect their opinions. I respect Netflix. So it's like going out with a guy that you're proud to be seen with."

    Her books are pretty funny, but I never thought Chelsea had the best lines of the show. I always liked Sarah Colonna.

    I don't care for Handler, she's too crude for me. What I find disturbing is the thought that Netflix seem to be on a path which may well make them no different from the networks.

      @tickle, she plowed a path all right - she plowed her way up via the bed of E's network, Ted Harbert. She later said he gave her a break but didn't make her book sell on the NYT bestseller list. It's redundant, she got a break from banging a man in power and if she had written the book without a break, it wouldn't have been a bestseller.

      @Seven,I'm under no illusions about Handlers' climb up the greasy pole.However,she got to the top and managed to stay there(albeit briefly).I'm sure for every one of her there are countless more bedding their way to the middle ie nowhere

      Right?! I haven't liked her since she started dissing Joan Rivers. When you're trying to make an enemy of Joan Rivers, you're doing it wrong!!

    Why do you hv to shit on what u used to do? What if that turns out to be the only thing you're good at? Very short sighted. And someone who's showing half naked pics of herself, talks about her sex life ad nauseum and sleeps to get work is looking for respect??!!! Really???? Because i dont see it.
