Jill Kargman Talks Tween Fashion
Jill Kargman recently sat down for an interview with People to promote the new season of Odd Mom Out, which returned to Bravo this week. Here's what she had to say:
On parenting daughter Sadie, 14 (she's also mother to daughter Ivy, 11, and son Fletch, 10):
“We just have really frank conversations. I don’t talk to her like a kid. ‘If you dress like a Reno prostitute, it’s not just the cute boys looking at you, it’s the dirty old men.’ You see these girls who show up at these bat mitzvahs and they’re wearing Band-Aid dresses and it’s horrifying. We don’t do that.”
On former sister-in-law Drew Barrymore:
“Our kids — all five kids — have dinner together twice a week. We have a whole family [dinner] on Sunday and then the kids have a dinner date on Wednesday. It’s family first; you divorce spouses, but not family.”

Blind Gossip Blind Item - I Am The Production
This actress was absolutely positive that she was going to receive an Emmy nomination for her performance. The production got good reviews, and she played the lead, so her confidence was well-founded.
She didn’t get nominated.
"She was saying something to the effect of, “I don’t get it! What happened? The production gets nominated but I don’t? I’m the lead. I AM the production!” She might play the race card (or have someone else do it for her) if she stays mad enough about it."

The Gossip Life Blind Item - Depressed Director
Thanks to a successful first movie, it looked as if we had the next superstar director in this guy, but after a disappointing movie, it now looks like we have the next Uwe Boll.
That’s the jist of a conversation I had over the weekend with a Hollywood friend of mine about this B list director.
‘I hear he’s pretty bummed,’ another source adds on. ‘Who can blame the chap? He almost had it all.’
So, tell me, Gossipers:
Who is our depressed director?

That Time Woody Harrelson Had A Foursome and Cheated on His Wife
Woody Harrelson recently sat down for a very long and comprehensive interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Here is an excerpt:
My problem is, I'll drink, and then I'll drink too much. I stopped smoking pot [14 months ago]. I had some weird reaction, which I looked up later, and it was adrenal exhaustion. I still drink, but I try just to drink on weekends. I mostly just drink wine now, but a few years ago I got into cognac for a while — you know, I'd do shots. I'm a happy drunk, but sometimes I drink to the point where I'm not really thinking very clearly. And one of the bad things about celebrity — there's a lot of positives, but one of the bad things is everybody wants to have a shot with you. It's dangerous to go into a regular bar because I can end up doing a lot of shots, depending on the charity of the [other people].
[In 2002] I went to this bar in London, and afterward these girls came up to me, these two girls, and asked me, "So you want to take a walk on the wild side?" So I said, "I guess I do." And then I hopped in the car, and another girl I didn't even know hopped in. We went to my place, and one of the girls was a razzi [paparazzi] or worked for them, worked for the rags. And she got a photographer to come out. That one girl manipulated the other two. I was bummed when they all left together 'cause I knew it was going to happen [an article]. News of the World, it was. I never read it 'cause I didn't want to read it.
I'm not sure how Laura found out, but she did. I was kind of hoping she wouldn't see it. I can't remember the details; I've doubtless repressed it. She never saw the thing. But someone told her.
Laura — this really gives you a sense of the depth of her compassion — what she said to me after finding out was, "That must be really hard for you, to have this shit exposed." She just said that. Now that doesn't mean she wasn't upset. How did I apologize? You know, just your standard Texan grovel. But she forgave me, and we're still together.
That same week [of the tabloid incident], I went to this club and went to get in a taxi. I was trying to pull out the ashtray, and it came out with this screeching eerrrrch. And then I couldn't get it back in, and the driver's screaming at me, and finally I got pissed at him screaming, so I was screaming back. And then the next thing you know, he wouldn't let me out, but I got the door open. Then the guy stopped. He was on the phone — I didn't know if he was calling his mates or the cops, but I didn't want to meet either one of those groups. It turned out it was the cops. I got out, and the guy came after me, and he's on the phone the whole time. And then the cops came, and I was running from the cops. I went to jail. Laura got me out.
It stayed with me because it was one of the worst nights of my life. I wanted to repress it, I wanted to erase it. I would've paid a large sum to just excise that week from my life — the tabloid thing, the incident with the cops. It all happened around the same time. It does happen to me in spurts, trouble.
But I started thinking, there is some merit to this story. Thematically, you have a guy who has it all, doesn't realize he has it all, gets reminded how lucky he is and then has a shot at redemption. There's something about that theme that really resonates with me.
At some point, I wrote a draft of a screenplay, and I merged the two things into one night. Then I put it in a drawer, didn't read it for two years, read it, put it back in the drawer. It was terrible. It was very slow. And Laura was the first to type it up — I wrote it longhand — and she typed up every draft all the way through. I had the idea to shoot it [Lost in London] in real time. But I never thought, my very first time out, I'm going to do a single-camera, one-take deal. Then, once I decided to do that, I thought, "Well, why not just go for it?" Then came the idea: If we're shooting this single-camera in one take, why couldn't we also live-stream it? Is it possible?
It was this big catharsis. It actually did shift something in me, getting that film done. I feel like it was a purging or a letting go and a letting go of some of the guilt. I know that Laura really loves the movie, and that probably means more than anything. Because in a way, it's a love letter to Laura, a weird love letter to Laura.
I frequently think of my situation. Just having this family who has been so loving and so kind to me — like, more than I deserve, maybe. And in some ways I think that has mellowed me. Maybe "mellowed" isn't the right word, but it has softened those areas that were too hard.
I guess there has been a change in me. If I'm honest, I have to say that something has shifted, some kind of basic core disturbance. It's like some post that you're trying to get out of the ground, and it's just so wedged there, you have to push it every which direction, and you can finally lift it out."

Blind Gossip Blind Item - Shut Up About Yourself
These multi-hyphenate siblings are generally supportive of each other, but they are having a dispute right now over publicity.
The younger one has always shown up to help the older one promote her project. However, now that Younger has a project to promote, Older is talking to the press about… herself.
'[Older] likes having stories published about herself every day, so she is always creating new stories about her work, her man, whatever. Some are real, some are exaggerated, some are fake. Anyway, [Younger] is annoyed and asked [Older] “Can you just shut up about yourself for five minutes so I can get some attention?”"

Jessica Biel Talks Love and Marriage
Jessica Biel is on the August cover of Marie Claire Magazine. Here are some highlights from her accompanying interview:
On playing Cora in The Sinner, facing her personal challenges, and exploring her dark side:
"I have challenges standing up for myself sometimes. Times when I don't trust my own voice. And that's the stuff I needed to bring out and explore to understand Cora. [exploring her dark side] "It's like a drug, like an adrenaline rush. There's a real catharsis…you're exhausted, you are free; you feel a lot of different things. For me, it's like a rebirth. Like I'm a phoenix rising up out of the ashes."
On her Hollywood experience as a child actor:
"My Hollywood experience as a young person was never one of those True Hollywood stories where I was left alone to my own devices with no parental supervision," says Biel. "There was always somebody with me."
What makes her and husband Justin Timberlake work:
"We have similar values; we believe in loyalty, honesty. We like to have fun. We like a lot of the same things. Also, in the business, we're all very career-oriented, and you have to be a little selfish. I understand that about my peers—about being focused and driven—and if you can find that and someone who shares the same values as you, it's like: Score!"
What she's learned from motherhood:
"You think you're a selfless person, and then you realize you're not. These little people come around, and they require so much, and your schedule is really not your own, nor is it important anymore, and it's very clear that it's your life now revolving around this dude. I'm not that person who feels like, Oh, my whole life changes for my kid, but it does."
Her thoughts on the national political climate:
"This is just where we are, and I just really, really, really want all the good work that's been done for women and women's rights and the environment to not get turned around."

Tamara Tattles Blind Item - Fired Housewife Collects Other Rejects
This fired housewife has opted to collect a bunch of former housewives for a charity event.
However, the actual motivation is to make a sizzle real in an attempt to get back on TV.
Even fired housewives from other countries and people from a now defunct Bravo show will be there.
This fired housewife is so desperate to be on TV that she is flying women in from around the globe and paying for her own film crew. ALLEGEDLY.
While we are all clamoring for a show where housewives from all franchises come together for a very special Scary Island event, this cast of misfits and rejects is not exactly what we were hoping for.
It’s just another failed attempt to get back on Bravo… or Foxtel… or ANYWHERE,
Sad. This housewife has more important things to concern herself with.

Kesha Sees UFOs
Somebody call Tom DeLonge, because these two need to have a collaboration! Kesha recently sat down for an interview with the Zach Sang Show. Here is an excerpt from that interview, as reprinted by Billboard:
"I was in Joshua Tree, totally sober, let me preface -- completely fucking sober ... I think people would be like, 'She was on acid' or something. I wasn't. I was on nothing. I was a totally sober Sally, just a lady in the desert. I look up in the sky and there's a bunch of spaceships. I swear to God, there were like five to seven, and I don't know why I didn't like try to take a picture of it -- I just looked at it. I was sitting on a rock, and I was like, 'What in the hell is that?' I was trying to figure it out, and then they went away. And then they came back. They came back in a different formation. I was like, 'Those are fucking aliens.' They were spaceships!"

Kurt Russell Reflects on Mentor Walt Disney
Kurt Russell recently spoke to People about Walt Disney; here's what he had to say:
“What I learned at Disney was how to make movies, and I learned that from Walt. Mr. Disney took me around and introduced me to many of the animators. I look back on it now and I realize I was this kid, and he was taking the time to pick my brain, because I think that was an important thing for him to do with young people.
And in return I got to listen to him talk about arcs of movies and characters. The process of building an audience’s expectations. The process of creating a character that the audience really cares about and attaching it to life, so that we can all relate to it. So, in that regard, I was getting lessons that I had no idea I was getting.”
On leaving set early one day when he was 13 to make it to a baseball game:
“I’m wondering how much trouble I’m in. Everyone is nice. The crew is great. And here comes Walt Disney. And I thought, ‘Oh-oh.’ And he came over and he said, ‘Well, young man, I hear you got the game-winning hit. Way to go! Have fun today, guys.’ And it was like from that moment on, I knew that guy was cool. He got it.”

Blind Gossip Exclusive Blind Item - Not Thrilled
When an actress is “not thrilled” about her ex’s new relationship, it’s because she is jealous, right?
Guess again.
It’s actually about sobriety.
"She did try to keep the family together for a long time, but she’s past that. Now it’s all about keeping him sober for the sake of the kids. She literally spent years trying to get him away from his addictions, but instead of being grateful, he always hated that she was trying “parent” him.
[The New Girlfriend] is the opposite. She tells him that he is an adult and he can make his own choices! He thinks that she is cool because she trusts him and gives him permission to do whatever he wants.
[Ex] knows that this is a huge mistake because she lived with that addict for years and she knows how bad he can get. She knows that all these things (gambling, drinking, drugs, sex) are linked together and that if he does one it is just a matter of time before he relapses into the others. That is the real reason why she “isn’t thrilled” about this relationship."

Tamara Tattles Blind Item - Fired Housewife Gone Wild
In this blind item a fired housewife is furiously blowing up Andy Cohen’s phone. Word is he is ready to block her. She shows up at his office when he is in town to plead her case. I’m sure we will hear all about it in his next book. I’ve heard that this former housewife tried and failed to get Twitter behind her to rally for her return.
The problem is that she doesn’t have a fan base and the multiple manufactured Twitter accounts fell flat.
Andy is well and truly done and she will not be on Bravo again ever due to her crazed pleas.
Anyway, things may escalate to the TMZ level soon which is why I am telling you now when I want to be watching Big Brother After Dark. Wait and Watch.

Idris Elba Talks Looking for Love
Idris Elba recently sat down for an interview with Essence Magazine. Here's what he had to say:
On his lovelife:
"Am I ever gonna get remarried? I don't think so. Yeah, I don't think so. Marriage is an institution of sorts. And I've done it. It's not for everybody. It's not my life's calling."
On his directorial debut in Yardie:
"Yardie is quite a semi-famous bit of English literature about a small-time pastor who comes from Jamaica and ends up embroiled in [avenging his brother's death]. It's set in the late seventies, early eighties, a hotbed of Jamaican culture in London, but then crack cocaine arrives."
On relating to the main character in Yardie:
"He's a fish out of water and finds himself becoming a gangster really quickly. It's not really his life. For me, I'm making that story because A, it's a part of the reason I became a man. I was born in 1972, and that's just my era. And B, there's a big, big music component. I love music and I love film. This is my chance to marry the two."

Celebrity Real Estate - The Firm Edition
Jeff Kwatinetz, founder and CEO of talent management and production company The Firm, has listed his New York City NoHo apartment for sale for $10 million. The 3,000 square foot apartment features one bedroom, two full bathrooms plus one additional shitter, a huge dining room, and library. See pictures of the property at Variety.
Billy Masters Blind Item - A Compromising Position
Could it be that a star of stage and screen (well, small screen) has also been filmed in a compromising position? These things happen when you and your boyfriend pick up random guys online for a three-way. In the clip, our newsworthy lad is purportedly filling one side of the hook-up while his boyfriend is filling the other – without ever letting the cell phone fall from his hands. Now, THAT’S multitasking! I should add, it sure looks like the star’s beau in the middle. But it really is hard to tell. But there is a brief glimpse of the star’s face, and there’s no mistaking that hair, that hard body, or that johnson!

Shia LaBeouf Apologizes For Being a Drunk Sloppy Mess
E! News reports that after getting arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, and obstruction in George over the weekend, Shia LaBeouf has released an apology, which he published to Twitter. Here's what he had to say:
"I am deeply ashamed of my behavior and make no excuses for it. I don't know if these statements are too frequent, or not shared often enough, but I am certain that my actions warrant a very sincere apology to the arresting officers, and I am grateful for their restraint. The severity of my behavior is not lost on me.
My outright disrespect for authority is problematic to say the least, and completely destructive to say the worst. It is a new low. A low I hope is a bottom. I have been struggling with addiction publicly for far too long, and I am actively taking steps toward securing my sobriety and hope I can be forgiven for my mistakes."
