Gwyneth Paltrow Talks Misogyny
Gwyneth Paltrow recently sat down for an interview with Time, where they asked her if she had checked out Blake Lively's lifestyle website Preserve, or Reese Witherspoon's lifestyle website Draper James. Here's what good old Goop had to say:
"This is a very interesting question, because I wonder if George Clooney would be asked about Puff Daddy’s ancillary liquor line. I’m fascinated how the media in particular are so confounded by entrepreneurial women doing something outside of their box. Jessica [Alba], especially, who’s a friend of mine—our businesses could not be more different. There’s not a lifestyle piece to her business. The fundamentals of our sites are very different. Our businesses have similarities, but hers has retail. People are grasping at straws to tie us together and I get it, because it makes a good story, but I’m slightly offended by this sort of generalization that happens with myself and Jessica and Reese and Blake. Yes, there are similarities. But there aren’t stories in TIME written saying, 'Wow, look at Arnold Schwarzenegger, who did x, y, and z!'"

When pointed out to Goop that it's become a trend for actresses to launch lifestyle sites:
"I wrestle with it. I feel there’s something slightly misogynistic about it. This is a common theme. I think Reese and Jessica and I—I don’t know Blake Lively, and I don’t know if Jessica and Reese know each other—I’m friends with both of them and I speak to both of them and I want to do everything I can to support their businesses. I’m not articulating it well, because I haven’t completely worked out what it is, but I feel very proud when Jessica was on the cover of Forbes. I think that’s amazing. You can quantitatively say, 'Look what she’s done, she’s been able to conceive of a business and scale it to that size, in that amount of time.' But we have such different businesses. I think you just put your nose to the grindstone and build your business and scale the best way you know how. You just keep going in hopes the story becomes not people pitting women against each other, which is not founded in truth. There’s no competition. None of us think we’re in each other’s space. I don’t know how you do it! You just get to f—ing work! I think we’re in a funny time for women. We are more and more the breadwinners in families across America or contributing equally; there’s a shift happening sociologically and psychologically. People are wrestling with this new archetype of being a woman with a brain who’s also sexual and trying to do more than one thing at a time. I also feel proud. Why would I not want to do that, if it’s a passion?"

Chris Pratt recently sat down for an interview with Men's Health UK, where he opened up about how his changing weight helped to shape his career. The magazine quotes him as follows:
"I said to the creators [of Parks and Recreation] that I wanted to get fatter for the role. They loved it. I announced it to the whole cast, and then it became a bit of a game: how fat can I get and how fast can I get that fat. I thought, 'Oh my God, I'm getting fat. And then almost immediately I did something else and I thought, 'Holy crap, I've never seen myself funnier.' And I put the two together. [Wife Anna Faris and I] were drinking a lot of wine and having fun. I was her little Hansel out in the woods and she was fattening me up to put me in the fire. It was like Momma Bear and Papa Bear. I was impotent, fatigued, emotionally depressed. I had real health issues that were affecting me in a major way. It's bad for your heart, your skin, your system, your spirit."

Actress Melissa George is pregnant. People reports that George, 38, is expecting her second child with boyfriend Jean-David Blanc; the two are already parents to son Raphaƫl, 16 months. The pregnancy will push back the debut of her new NBC drama Heartbreaker; the show will now debut midseason.
Fred Durst Is Married
Congratulations go out to Fred Durst, who tied the knot to Ukranian makeup artist Kseniya Beryazina...three years ago! TMZ reports that Beryazina recently let one of their photogs in on the well-kept secret because he couldn't find anything to talk to Durst about! The pair got married in a private ceremony on the San Diego estate of Ron Burkle.

This female multi-hyphenate loves to talk about how in love she is with her boyfriend. He has an ego the size of a skyscaper, so, of course, he absolutely revels in the praise.

Our actor was recently in a major city not located on either coast. He walked into a restaurant, casually dressed, immediately recognized by the locals.
He met up with his dining companion. She was “A really pretty girl. Young, skinny, long, dark hair, lots of makeup.” They were holding hands. And they were kissing throughout the meal. Not friend kissing. Romantic kissing.
The girl was not his girlfriend.
This happened a couple of weeks ago. Just before our talented multi-hyphenate once again gushed about how wonderful he is and how lucky she is to be with him.

In Hollywood, said Patrick Goldstein, a former Los Angeles Times film industry columnist who has known Ms. Finke for decades, people are “scared of their own shadows.”
“I would say that everyone is secretly full of trepidation about what Nikki’s new site will be like,” he said. “Will it be literary short stories, or will it be fiction as a thin disguise for the truth?”
On a recent day, surrounded by paintings and photographs, some made by friends, and a library of books on Hollywood, Ms. Finke was an energetic presence. She asked what a reporter thought of her appearance (whether it matched the public perception) and expounded on topics ranging from marriage (“never again,” she said after being divorced in the 1980s) to movies (she grew up on Long Island and in New York City, watching mostly subtitled European films). She said she had been tempted to write a book on the craft of journalism, her way. It might include what she describes as a common technique — calling a source, telling him he is a bad person and demanding he justify, by providing fresh news, why he is not.
Mr. Goldstein said Ms. Finke had significantly swayed entertainment reporting, for better and worse: It became more aggressive and rigorous, but also more vicious and relentless.
“It’s fascinating to see that since she left Deadline, the trades have again by and large gone back to that same very respectful reporting, and that the hard edges have been buffed away.”
Ms. Finke’s have not. Asked why she consistently used to describe an executive with a phallic expletive, she said she did so because he fit the description. “Most of my career I’ve talked to incredibly powerful, rich people,” she said. “How can I bully someone like that?”
She learned from those she covered, she said. “I mean, they play rough. I have to play rough, too.”

Uhura Hospitalized For Stroke
TMZ reports that Nichelle Nichols, who famously played the role of Lieutenant Uhura in Star Trek, was hospitalized on Wednesday after suffering a mild stroke. Nichols, 82, is reportedly awake and resting comfortably. Doctors are still conducting tests to determine the severity of the stroke.
Ludacris Is A Dad Again
Rapper Ludacris and his wife Eudoxie have welcomed their first child together, reports Page Six. Cadence Gaƫlle was born on Thursday. The couple tied the knot in a surprise ceremony in January. Ludacris has two other children from previous relationships.

It's awfully hard to stay in denial when hits like these keep happening. Kim Richards is being sued over a pit bull attack by her dog Kingsley. In case you're keeping track, this is the fourth bite victim (that we know of). Page Six reports that this time it's one of Richards' neighbors who is suing her due to grave bodily harm.

BRAPPP Blind Item - Past Their Peak
These two A-list actresses are past-their-peak in terms of career and beauty. One has become an annoyance to the world while the other has maintained mostly leading roles in flops. They were supposed to do a movie together several years back, A-list actress 1 was producing and starring in the plum role and A-list actress 2 was to play the supporting role.
As the movie was going through a stressful pre-production, Actress 2 stuck with the flick in light of the increasingly difficult waters. She was on location in Tennessee filming another movie when she reached out to Actress 1 (who lives there) to spend some time with her and her family. Actress 1 deliberately avoided the calls, claiming she “will not become part of Actress 2’s collection of celebrity friends.”
Actress 2 took this as a slight and deliberately choose to withdraw from the movie when the pre-production was finally on track.

Brandi Glanville Attempts To Shame Joanna Krupa
In case you haven't been following this saga of Real Housewife on Real Housewife sparring, Brandi Glanville accused Joanna Krupa of smelling less than fresh, and Krupa has threatened to sue Glanville if she keeps talking crap about her lady parts. TMZ reports that both ladies found themselves dining at Hollywood hot spot Craigs on the same night, albeit at different tables. So Brandi being the classy piece of trash that she is, sent over a steaming hot plate of smelly fish to Krupa's table to make a statement. I have to say, I think this seals the deal that Brandi is a liar. Because if Krupa was as smelly as Brandi claims, the restaurant would have smelled fishy enough as it is, and there wouldn't have been a need to send over the entree. Point Krupa. Bobby Flay Is A Cheater

Mila Kunis's Stalker Apprehended
After four days on the loose, Mila Kunis's stalked, Stuart Lynn Dunn, has been arrested. He escaped from a mental health facility in Pomona, and was found by police in Santa Monica, reports the LA Times. For those not familiar with Los Angeles geography, Santa Monica is about 50 miles from Pomona. Investigators are still trying to determine how Dunn traveled that distance.

We all know by know that Kim Richards got drunk as a skunk at her daughter's wedding in Mexico and pissed off her entire family. TMZ reports that Kim's sister Kyle Richards and Kyle's husband Mauricio Umansky hired a security guard to force Kim onto a private plane and bring her back to Los Angeles. Kim has promised to go back to rehab, but Kyle has made it clear that this is the last time that she is helping out her sister, and thinks that bailing her out is enabling her behaviour.
Iggy Azalea Is Engaged
Australian rapper Iggy Azalea is engaged to Los Angeles Laker Nick Young. Page Six reports that Young popped the question at his 30th birthday party. The couple have been together since 2013.

Nicholas Brendon has taken a break from his busy getting-arrested-at-comic-conventions schedule to visit a rehab center. Us Weekly reports that he is seeking help for depression, alcoholism, and substance abuse problems. His rep shared the following message on Brendon's Facebook page:
"He's taking the steps necessary to better his health and give himself, and his fans, the gift of a healthy lifestyle. He has been aware of his problems for some time -- and with each new challenge, he gained a greater understanding of what needed to be done to overcome these obstacles and move forward with his life. Since his arrest last October, Nicky had tried several treatment methods -- from therapy, to outpatient services -- only to realize recently that he needed to take an extended break and treat the underlying issues of his illnesses."
His rep also stated that he would be retuning to the convention circuit after completing treatment. Mazel to Nicholas for seeking treatment, but maybe hold off on going to any more conventions, ever. That seems to be where he gets into trouble.

Blind Gossip Blind Item - Sneaky Plastic Surgery
There have been so many stars getting plastic surgery in the past couple of years that this one slipped by completely unnoticed!
This very pretty and very famous actress has been in several movies that have broken the $100 million mark. She is also in a high-profile marriage that has been under some scrutiny lately.
She is not old by any stretch of the imagination, but her husband’s attraction to actresses ten or twenty years younger than her has been a definite source of stress.
So while he was sneaking around on her… she sneaked into the plastic surgeon’s office and had some work done on her face!
This happened in between filming two movies approximately two years ago. Her scenes were done early on in the schedule for one film and late in the schedule for the other, so she had a few months off in between for healing. She did look tighter and smoother in the second film, but in real life she seemed to keep up her normal routine (although we did catch her wearing dark glasses a lot during that time).
It was good work and it has settled in nicely since then. She is back to looking very natural. In fact, she is so comfortable with her appearance that she is not shy about being seen without makeup. She looks like herself, just without a line or wrinkle anywhere. We wish that she could work out the wrinkles in her marriage as easily!

Griffin O'Neal Speaks Out About Addiction
Griffin O'Neal recently sat down for an interview with People, where he talked about addiction. The magazine quotes him as follows:
"My whole family has been absolutely destroyed to smithereens from drug addiction and alcoholism. The common denominator is drugs and alcohol and depression and it's a never-ending cycle. I had to walk away from all of it. I'm done. My mother was an alcoholic and she took weight-loss pills and other drugs. The combination of the two, along with her not being emotional stable because she was orphaned at age 6 and lived a rough life – was heart-wrenching. I was the family joint roller. My life has been a reign of drug and alcohol degradation. I had to self medicate my entire life because there was pain everywhere. There were drugs everywhere in my family all day, every day. It was the '60s and '70s and Tatum and I had a tough time. I had to go to prison and I have a multitude of DUIs. At least 10. I was basically an alcoholic but I did every drug on the planet. I had problems with cocaine and speed too. I'm three and half years sober. I've had stints of sobriety throughout my life. I was raised in rehabilitation center and institutions and I think I graduated from high school in my third rehab in 1982. That's the part that is heartbreaking but maybe also inspiration for people dealing with the disease."
