Celebrity Real Estate - Joseph Gordon Levitt Edition

Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt snapped up a 1940's house by Paul R. Williams in Los Feliz for $3.25 million. When Gordon-Levitt snapped up the home, it was the first time that it had been on the market since 1957. The house contains three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a woodsy kitchen, and a pool. See pictures of the property at Curbed.

  1. That's a great house. A little paint on the walls would do wonders. The 1940s birch cabinets in the kitchen are a horror - we ripped ours out pretty quickly when we moved into our home. The kitchen & bathrooms need updating badly but that's typical. The directional lights on the beam need to go. That cheesy bar needs to be pulled out of there. The inglenook still being there is a treasure!

  2. That kitchen! *shudders*

Love it, though, white walls and all. :D

  3. Holy crap, the kitchen! And this is the first time I've seen a house with the washer/dryer in the kitchen like they do in Europe. I do like the stove, though.

The bar would have to go. That just looks clumsy and who wants an ice cold martini served by a roaring fire?

I like the pool and sleek flooring. The layout is odd, though.

  4. Good Lord. Technically a good house, but....major renovations....STAT!

  5. I predict that house will be gutted and renovated from top to bottom.

  6. Uh...no thanks. And not at all what I would expect from JGL.

  7. That fridge reminds me of the time my dad used a kit to paint ours from "Harvest Gold" to "Coppertone", complete with dark brown shading around the edges. Memories :)

  10. Agreed that the bar is just oddly placed and that the kitchen and baths need updating. Otherwise the general consensus seems to be that the best part of the deal is the location and the lot. It has a certain charm that's for sure. You could roller skate in that downstairs room. Why didn't they show any bedrooms I wonder?

    1. I suspect the bedrooms are fairly small and, therefore, unimpressive. They simply wouldn't do for most people and especially a celebrity.

  11. just something wrong about doing your laundry in the same room as you cook and eat though I understand why, save money on plumbing add in those bar fridge sized refrigerators - Europeans must gasp at the people with restaurant size fridges now. and see the bar fridges in the room of every college student. And then you have no closets, you need to buy wardrobes, clearly a conspiracy by Ikea.

  12. It looks like it has a ton of potential. Obviously that kitchen area is gonna need a mondo remodel, but the over all bones look really good. I love the Dutch door!
