Tori Spelling Accepts Dean's Proposal...Again
E! News reports that Dean McDermott felt the need to re-propose to his wife Tori Spelling again ahead of their 10th wedding anniversary. He popped the question in Paris in front of their children Liam, 9, Stella, 7, Hattie 4, and Finn, 3. Tori released the following statement: "Dean planned it with the owners of Cafe de L'homme overlooking the Eiffel Tower and all of Paris to have the terrace all reserved and private for us and told me we were going to get coffee and hot chocolates for the kids and then surprised me when he got down on one knee and presented me with an antique engagement ring. The four kids and I were so surprised and so happy. It's been a rough few years and this was a perfect family moment for unity and love!"

Blind Gossip Blind Item - Planned Payday
Some pregnancies are accidental. Sometimes are strategically planned. This reality star is planning to have unsafe sex with a celebrity just to get pregnant by him.
She doesn’t have any talent, but she certainly does love money and publicity. A terminated pregnancy by him would result in a big, one-time payday. Keeping a baby by him would provide money and publicity for life. Tough choice.

Catching Up with Samantha Bee
The Hollywood Reporter recently caught up with Samantha Bee at the Tribeca Film Festival. Here's what she had to say:
On her wardrobe for the show:
"I [wore] a dress in a test show because I thought that's what you did and I was so uncomfortable. I was just physically so tight and cinched into the dress. And my high heels kept poking through the floor because the floor wasn't really finished. My outfit was a disaster, and I think possibly the next rehearsal, I just wore a blazer. A blazer is just my life staple. I rock a blazer. I can't help it. I was just wearing a blazer and running shoes at rehearsal and people were like, 'You seem really comfortable. Do you want to wear that on the show?' 'Please. Because that dress was terrible.'"
On the Eddie the Eagle Mascot Costume segment:
"That story took a long time to produce from start to finish. It was a really long process of figuring out the legal parameters of everything [including navigating various states' gun laws]. We knew when the piece aired that someone would try to sue us for sure, which definitely would have happened except it was so locked down and air tight."
On her sitdown with Texas abortion-regulations supporter Dan Flynn:
"I like us to be on pretty equal footing when we go into a room together — it actually just makes me feel better, quite honestly. So he was very aware of our point of view and what we were talking about. I mean, this is not going to be easy to believe but we actually had a really great conversation. He was really pleasant. We had a nice afternoon. We disagree with each other on absolutely, almost everything. I mean anything politically, we pretty much disagree on but as people we're agreeable. We certainly had a lively discussion. At the end of the discussion, it was quite amicable and friendly. I don't think he liked the piece, but he did have a chance to express his point of view, and we're being very careful about that on the show. We're really giving people a chance to express their point of view. It's important to me that we give people enough, you know, at least, time, that they feel like, 'I got my point out there.'"
Gillian Anderson Mulls Plastic Surgery
Gillian Anderson recently sat down for an interview with People, where she mulled the prospects of having plastic surgery. The magazine quotes her as follows:
"At 47, I feel quite strongly that I wouldn't do plastic surgery, but also, I know that I am a vain woman. Talk to me in ten years – they may have invented something which feels less invasive, and then it's possible that the line will be easier to cross. I don't want to say never. I don't want to be hypocritical about it. But also, at this juncture, I just hope that I would be able to embrace these stages of my aging face, and not feel like something was wrong and that it needed to be fixed through surgery.
It's sad that in general there's shame around [aging]. Not only is it common for women to feel shame about aging, but it's common for press and the general public to make people feel bad for their aging, which also contributes to the amount of work that women end up having done. I fall prey to it myself. I notice my own opinions about changes that are happening on my body and face, and the feelings that come up as a result of that. I think if we shifted our perception, and embraced the natural aging process as something that was celebrated rather than shamed and made taboo, women would respond to it differently."
Rosie Perez Talks Stereotypes
Rosie Perez recently spoke out at the Tribeca Film Festival about the stereotypical roles she has been offered because she is Latina. Page Six quotes her as follows:
“How many crackhead ho scripts are you going to send me? I don’t mind being a crackhead ho but … make me the lead. I don’t want to be quiet. I do want to rock the boat...It was very, very painful to see fear coming from my own people. I would see so many scripts that had the line ‘We have to stick together for mi familia.' Who talks like that?...It’s gotten better but it still sucks.”
On getting older:
“My agent told me I am not fuckable anymore.”

Prince Has Passed Away
Yesterday, the world lost one of the greats. Prince Rogers Nelson passed away in an elevator at his home, Paisley Park at the age of 57. Prince won seven Grammys, one Academy Award, had many top ten hits for both himself, and other artists who recorded the songs that he wrote for them. He is survived by two ex-wives, Manuela Testolini and Mayte Garcia. Prince's son with Garcia, Boy Gregory, passed away one week after birth from Pfeiffer syndrome, a rare skull defect. Garcia suffered a miscarriage not long after Boy Gregory's passing. Read his full obituary at the New York Times.
I know that there is rampant speculation going around about Prince's health, but he was as notorious for his privacy as he was for his musical genius. So I am going to respect that privacy, and focus on how he lived; not speculate on how he may have died. I hope that he really did believe in what he wrote, and is now in a world of never ending happiness, where he can always see the sun, day or night. Good night, sweet Prince. And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

Blind Gossip Blind Item - Hollow Point Victory
For those of you who thought that the dismissal of a certain TV star didn’t make any sense, this should provide some insight!
"[The Show’s Creator] is the one who kept everything together all these years. Even though he knew [Lead Actor] hated [Lead Actress], [Creator] was in charge and he always did what was right for the show. He knew that putting [the lead characters] together as a couple worked as a story line and he kept everybody in line professionally and didn’t allow their petty personal bullshit get in the way.
As soon as [Creator] left, that’s when the trouble started. [Lead Actor] felt like this was now HIS show, and he told the producers that he wanted to move it in a different direction. Of course that meant dumping [Lead Actress]!
All that crap they’re putting out about how it was a budget decision and how much she will be missed, etc.? Ha ha ha ha! Total bulls*t!
[Lead Actor] hated her, he wanted her out, so she’s out. Simple as that. Yeah, he’s just shot himself in the foot… and fucked over the entire cast and crew… and probably killed the entire show… but he thinks he’s won!"
Sounds like a hollow-point victory to us!

Bill Murray Speaks
Bill Murray recently sat down for car ride with David Granger and Scott Raab which was transcribed for Esquire Magazine. Here are some of the highlights from the transcription:
On Adele:
"She's really funny. She sings these songs and people are just bathing themselves in tears. They're just crying and weeping over the way she sings the songs. And then she goes [impersonating Adele], "So glad that you're still here. I mean, I had the shits last night, and it was like all over my sheets, all over me panties and me jammies." It's like, "What?" This is the way she talks in between songs. People are just gobsmacked by it, because you don't see it coming. And then she goes [impersonating Adele], "Oh, here's a song. I hope I don't fuck this up 'cause of my drinking." And then she goes back to singing, and you're completely spellbound.
I became a fan when I was driving my sons to school. I had Adele on, and I look in the rearview mirror and all three of my sons are in the back singing. And I'm thinking, What the hell touched these guys? So I started singing it myself after I dropped them off. [Singing] "You're gonna wish you / Never had met me / Tears are gonna fall / Rolling in the deep…." Anyway, there Trump is at the Adele concert, rolling in the deep with the guys muscling him down the hall. And I go, "Hey, how ya doin'?" He says, "When this is all over, we're gonna get together and we're gonna play some golf." "When this is all over.""
On whether or not he had ever been fired:
"I was let go at the Treasure Island grocery store in Wilmette, Illinois. I must have been 19. One of the managers said, "What did you say to that lady?" I said, "I have no idea—what did I say?" He said, "I'm not even gonna say it." I know I didn't say anything intentionally strange, but I could've said something like "Well, the sausage is, you know, special today" or something like that...So I was let go, and that was too bad, because they liked me there. I was originally hired to cook chestnuts. They decided they'd like to have roasting chestnuts outside to make people feel good on the way in. People just like seeing 'em. No one wants roasted chestnuts. I still don't know how to roast a chestnut."
On retirement:
"I've retired a couple times. I just say, "I'm retired." It keeps a certain kind of person away from you—the kind of person that you really don't want around. The people who are really interested in you will find you eventually...If someone really wants you, they find you."
On his philosophy:
"People say to me, "Don't worry, I'll do it." I'll say, "I'm not a worrier." I started saying it a few years ago, and it makes me feel good. I've sort of hypnotized myself to not really worry so much. Do I sound worried? I think it's a good health tip to say "I'm not a worrier.""
On George Clooney:
"He asked me to work on Monuments Men, and it was really life-changing for me. At the time, I was in a very difficult situation where I was sharing the custody of my children. Two weeks on and two weeks off. And he allowed me to work two weeks on and two weeks off. They flew me back home and back to Germany every two weeks. That's who that guy is. He really thinks about other people. He really came up slow. And he was a driver for his aunt Rosemary, who was one of the biggest stars in the world, and also possibly one of the most difficult people to be with in the world. And yet he was her driver. So you probably can't do anything right when you're the nephew of that person. It was like my caddying experience, where you kind of go, "Well, this is definitely how I don't want to treat people. This is not what I wanna do." I go and visit George at his house and you do nothing but laugh. It's just laughs all day long. It's really good for your soul—you just laugh so much."

Iman Talks Marriage and Retirement
Iman recently appeared on an episode of Oprah's Where Are They Now? which was taped before David Bowie's passing. On the episode, she opened up about her marriage to Bowie, and her decision to retire from modeling 26 years ago. Here's what she had to say, as reprinted by E! News:
On David Bowie:
"People say, 'Do you give him fashion tips?' What are you, crazy? We're talking about David Bowie. He is fashion!...When we are home, we are just Iman and David. We're not anybody else. You have to be at the right time your life that you're ready for an everlasting relationship, that it becomes a first priority in your life. If your career is important to you, don't get married and have children, because something will give. I know as women we want to be able to have it all, but we can't have it all at the same time. So, make your priority of what you want at that time. Sometimes you don't even have to get married. Why do you have to get married?"
On retiring from modeling:
"I was just starting to create Iman Cosmetics, so I wanted to be also taken seriously and not be at fashion shows every day. But what really put the nail there for me was that I read they held a show—an hour—for Paris Hilton. I knew the game had changed. It became where everybody wants to be seen and it's become a different animal. I mean, when you have D-listers...We're not talking about Linda Fargo from Bergdorf Goodman. You know, you hold a show for that person because she is the establishment; she is fashion. But, seriously? Paris Hilton? No."
Katherine Heigl Wants A New Job
Katherine Heigl recently appeared on Howard Stern to eat some crow in the hopes of getting another acting job someday that doesn't involve shilling for cat litter. Here's what she had to say, as reprinted by E! News:
On her previous criticism of Knocked Up:
"I liked the movie a lot. I just didn't like me. The character. She was kind of like, she was so judgmental and kind of uptight and controlling and all these things and I really went with it while we were doing it, and a lot of it, Judd allows everyone to be very free and improvise and whatever and afterwards, I was like, 'Why is that where I went with this? What an asshole she is!' It was, again, one of those situations, it was a huge opportunity for me. I was being interviewed for Vanity Fair. Like, I was on the cover of Vanity Fair, it was a huge big deal for me. And the journalist...just said, 'You know a lot of women felt it was a little sexist' so then I felt obligated to answer that and so I tried in my very sort of ungracious way to answer why I felt that it maybe was a little."
On Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow, who felt blindsided by her comments:
"I probably should've [called them]. But what I did was very, I did it publicly instead and kind of tried to say, look, this was not what I meant and this was an incredible experience for me and they were incredibly good to me on this movie, so I did not mean to shit on them at all. I've thought about like, writing a note. I feel embarrassed. I don't want it to feel insincere on any level...I ran into [Rogen] at a restaurant and I didn't quite realize that it was as serious as it was...I walked up like, 'Hey, guys!' And they were like very like...and I was like, 'Oh, you're really mad, I didn't realize that it was that bad...I get it."
On removing her Grey's Anatomy performance from Emmy contention:
"I didn't feel good about my performance. There was a part of me that thought, because I had won the year before, that I needed juicy, dramatic, emotional material and I just didn't have that that season. I went in [to meet with Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rimes] 'cause I was really embarrassed. So I went in to Shonda and said, 'I'm so sorry. That wasn't cool. I should not have said that'...I shouldn't have said anything publicly but at the time, I didn't think anybody would notice. I didn't know that journalists would see who submitted and who didn't. I just quietly didn't submit and then it became a story and then I felt I was obligated to make my statement and 'shut up, Katie.'"
On the fallout of being labelled "difficult to work with":
"I had never done therapy before, until a couple of years ago. I started going because of the scrutiny. I was not handling it well. I was feeling completely like the biggest piece of shit on the bottom of your shoe. I was really struggling with it and how to not take it all personally and not to feel there was something deeply wrong with me. It was really, at first, very hard...I remember [working on an Independent Film and] wearing shoes a size too small because I was afraid to tell wardrobe they weren't big enough because I didn't want to be difficult. After that I was like, 'This is nonsense, stop it...I don't want to compromise who I am and what I have to say so much that I go to bed going, 'I've just become a robot; now I just do what they tell me to and say what they want me to say.' That isn't me."
Patricia Arquette Talks Oscar Speech Fallout
The New York Times recently caught up with Patricia Arquette at the Tribeca Film Festival, where she talked to them about the fallout after her Oscar acceptance speech calling for equal pay for women. The publication quotes her as follows:
“I always knew I was paid less than men. They would be very clear about that, sometimes, when they would make offers to you: ‘Well, they’re paying the guy, so they don’t have any money’ – they would say things like that. I had just seen a lot of people struggle to make a living, and I just didn’t think it was fair."
On losing work due to speaking out:
"I’m O.K. with that. Sometimes when you’re in a position to make a difference – to be a part of that story is a great thing...I thought, I could sell my house, I can downsize, I can live a different kind of way. That’s O.K. It’s O.K. if I don’t work anymore. I would be sad because I want to make art, but if that’s what it takes, I guess that’s what it takes.”
On turning down a recent indie film:
"[When you do an independent film], you’re basically donating your whole normal salary, and your name value, and your everything, if it does succeed you should participate in the success of that. The back-end participation was not the same as the man’s, so I did walk away from that job.”
On the passage of the California Fair Pay Act:
“When we bring all of our energy together and we’re all bringing what we can to the table, we can have rapid evolution, and that’s what we need to do. They talk about the gender pay gap not closing for another 40 years. I mean, who’s got 40 years? I don’t have patience.”

WTF Remake of the Day - Three's Company Edition

There aren't enough side eyes in the world to express my feelings about this.

Love It or List It Lawsuit
A North Carolina couple is suing the HGTV show Love It or List It for damaging their home. People reports that the contractor hired by the show left holes in the floor, did not paint surfaces in the home, but managed to paint their windows shot. The suit goes on as follows: "The show is scripted, with roles and reactions assigned to the various performers and participants, including the homeowners. These characters are actors or television personalities playing a role for the camera, and in this case none of them played more than a casual role in the actual renovation process." The couple also allege that they provided $140K for the renovation budget, but only $85K was used for actual home improvements, while the rest was spent on staging.

Vanderpump Rules Star Sued By Neighbor
TMZ reports that Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay and her husband Mike Shay are being sued by a neighbor for being a nuisance. Apparently all they do is sit around and smoke pot, and the fumes are drifting into the neighbor's apartment and sickening his children. The neighbor also calls out Scheana's cat, saying they leave the cat outdoors with its food, which has created an ant infestation. The only thing that shocks me about this complaint is that the neighbor didn't complain about her singing.

A judge denied the magazine's request to throw out the case. The judge also pointed out that In Touch publishing a story about Blake going to rehab when they had full knowledge that the story was untrue is proof of malice. Shelton needs to prove malice in order to win the case; looks like he already has that part in the bag!

Blind Gossip Blind Item - She Wants the Prize
Ohhh, she is annoyed! This young, female multi-hyphenate has been behaving herself, sucking up to her boyfriend’s family, and keeping her clothes on… only to be dissed by him.
"WTF? Do you know what kind of sacrifices she is making for him? She has practically been playing housewife for him! She finds all this good girl stuff boring as sh*t and frustrating because she’d rather be partying hard. He doesn’t appreciate how hard she’s trying. I don’t know how much longer she can keep up this act like this is what she wants. But he is the prize and she has her eyes on the prize and she always gets what she wants!"
She sounds… determined.

The Gossip Life Blind Item - Most Despised
This former A-list actress is one of the most despised people in Hollywood. She was once a box office draw and an Academy Award-nominee, but has fallen to supporting roles in bad TV shows and films no one watches. ‘Arrogant’ and ‘manipulative’ are synonymous with her name, trading roles and rewrites for certain favours. Crews hated her, often in response to her foul, demanding treatment. She also has a hell of a lot of rumours of sleeping around, especially with married men and even a very prominent politician.
Who is she?

James Franco Talks Art
James Franco recently sat down for an interview with Vulture, where he talked about his forays into art. Here are a few excerpts from the interview:
But what is the allure of stepping into the art world?
"It’s the freedom of making something that doesn’t need to entertain, that isn’t going to be tallied up in the box-office tolls. And it’s something that, frankly, I’ve done longer than I’ve been making films. My public life and my professional life started in film, and so that’s what I’m known as. But there’s the making of the work, and then there’s the showing of the work."

The art and “the art world.”

"I’ve read the thing that you wrote about celebrities going to the art world
Saltz wrote, “Fame has become such a meta-subject and an American obsession that just the act of someone famous making a painting is thought to add kicky secret layers to the artist’s image.”
— you talked about seeking a certain credibility that maybe we don’t get in our own professions. There was also an interesting idea you had in there that the celebrity persona shrinks the closer it gets to the art world.
Celebrity nowadays is built on the idea of mass reproduction. We are put in front of these cameras and projected around the whole world. The art world is smaller. You have to go into the temple — you have to go into the gallery and be in the presence of it. Yes, we can put it across on Instagram or whatever, but it’s not the way that the art world works, at least right now. There are still temples — the museum, the galleries. When celebrities go into that world, they are shrinking. On the other hand, people can’t help but comment about it endlessly."
The celebrity still gets in front.
"From my perspective, that’s a little unfair, because contemporary artists—since [John] Baldessari was teaching at CalArts — have practiced in many different mediums, and it’s not as strange for a painter to suddenly make a video than it is for an actor to go make a painting."

Your earnestness comes through as irony, is what I think may be happening. But do you regret the Oscars?
"I wasn’t trying to turn the soap opera into something of my own making. I was in their hands. When I was asked to do the Oscars, I thought I’ll do the same thing. Nobody expects me to host the Oscars.
"I wasn’t trying to turn the soap opera into something of my own making. I was in their hands. When I was asked to do the Oscars, I thought I’ll do the same thing. Nobody expects me to host the Oscars.
So I thought, here’s, again, an opportunity to put myself in their hands, but I’ve never aspired to be the Oscars host. I don’t care really. I’m going to do what they ask me to and do it as well as I can, but I don’t need this to be the best Oscars ever. I’m not getting anything out of that. In the best-case scenario, even if I killed it, it’s not going to help my career, because that’s not what it’s based on. It was an experiment.
But I think similar to what happened with the Cindy Sherman show — hosting the Oscars is a whole
different thing than going onto a soap opera. Nobody cares if you disrupt a soap opera, but if you go and host the Oscars and they get even an inkling of you trying to subvert it in any way or punk it in any way, people are going to get pissed."
Let’s talk about what you’re putting out there. You’ve said you’re gay in your work.
I"n the March 2015 issue of FourTwoNine magazine, “straight Franco” interviewed his alter ego, “gay Franco,” about why Franco has, for instance, starred in a reimagining of the controversial 1980 film Cruising."
In a way, I think, in my work, I’m sometimes assholish, and a few other things like that — hysterical.
"It’s a little bit of a persona."
"It’s a little bit of a persona."
But if I’m to be honest, my second self is also real. So if you said, “I’m gay in my work,” I guess that must mean that you’re also gay. If I’m an asshole in my work, I’m also an asshole. A lot of gay men have said to me, well, Franco’s kind of a gay cock tease.
"Yeah."
"Yeah."
And you do say you’re gay in your work.
"There is a bit of overfocusing on my sexuality, both by the straight press and the gay press, and so the first question is why do they care? Well, because I’m a celebrity, so I guess they care who I’m having sex with. But if your definition of gay and straight is who I sleep with, then I guess you could say I’m a gay cock tease. It’s where my allegiance lies, where my sensibilities lie, how I define myself. Yeah, I’m a little gay, and there’s a gay James."
