TV Show Roundup

Casting News:
Fox has hired both Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo as judges on So You Think You Can Dance. They will be replacing Mary Murphy.

Jeana Keough is returning to The Real Housewives of Orange County. TMZ reports that she seems to have "Friend of Housewife" status for now; no word on whether or not she'll be promoted to official orange-holding status.

    1. Maybe when people finally realize it's not "real". Given the number of people who think Kim K is a paragon of virtue,no time soon.

    2. You know, I don't think you can beat British TV. I know they have a lot of crap too, but not as crappy of crap as US TV.

It just seems better written to me and you've got movie actors who don't consider themselves "too good" for television. I like the limited series stuff they do as well. None of this dragging a mediocre series or plot line out for 26 episodes when six will do.

    3. PBS where I live shows a lot of British programming. I loved As Time Goes By. I wish we had intelligent TV here, but for the most part it is dreadful.

    4. Here here been a British TV fans since I was a kid, living in Canada we had more exposure to it when I was younger and praise the lord for BBC Canada and PBS and TVO and now the cable channels and NetFlix are picking up TV shows. Tom Hardy and his father who is a TV writer in the UK have had their pilot picked up for a series by BBC and FX is going to air it in the US and hopefully Canada at the same time it airs in the UK. Due out 2016. So no spoilers.

  5. I abhor reality TV as well. PBS is far better and I search that out whenever possible. Thank goodness I have 4 different stations to choose from and now CNN is playing some very good shows like "The Sixties" and coming up next is "The Seventies" produced (I think) by Tom Hanks. Smarter TV. If I want real I want a documentary. Not a buncha lame ho's fighting over nothing.

  6. I'm glad for Paula. She'd sort of dropped out of sight. I figured she was staying home drinking.

  7. The reality shows I like is when they are showing reality. Like Border Security I love that show and I noticed how the Aussies are the tough on that. Canadian Border security always confiscating guns from Americans LOL.

  8. When Bravo first started it was to cater to culture and the arts. Cough. MTV, Much Music and VH1 were supposed to be about music. Everyone just filling their lineup with reality crap because it was cheaper than original programming.
