Celebrity Real Estate - Old Hollywood Edition

The former home of actor George Peppard, who starred in both Breakfast and Tiffany's and The A-Team, has gone up for sale for $2.699 million. The Greek Revival home, built in 1919, has two bedrooms, three covered porches, and a saltwater pool. See pictures of the property at Curbed.

  1. I always thought Peppard was a weak spot in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Supposedly Tony Curtis was considered for it, but I think he would have been all wrong for the part - too street smart. Steve McQueen was also considered - that might have been interesting. McQueen is not my favorite actor, but he would have been less bland and more aggressively sexual than Peppard.

  2. Some excerpts from a book about the making of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's.' Apparently Audrey hated Peppard as well.

    1. Yeah what's the deal with saltwater pools? I didn't even know that was a thing until I started reading these posts. How the hell do you clean them?

    2. Ethorne, they use less chemicals than chlorine so are better for your skin and hair but the salt can cause rust and erosion around your pool and furniture. It's supposed to be cheaper than chlorine too. You still have to clean them and they still run on a pump.

    3. Saltwater pools are so much nicer than chlorine. We had one and the chemicals aren't toxic like chlorine. Still hard on your hair but better for your skin.

    4. Thanks @MinPin! I just assumed they wouldn't have chemicals in them.

  5. Love the light and the guesthouse. The hedges and clutter should go.

  7. I could really make do with this.

All that furniture in the living room has got to GO, though.

  8. Wow that is a PERFECT house! The privacy hedges are awesome too. Mr. Min Pin, me and the little min pins and our Iggie would do just fine in a place like that. There isn't anything I don't like (except that I'm not living there).

I always had a thing for George Peppard in The A-Team. I think it was the silver hair and black leather gloves....Liam Neeson was also REALLY hot as Hannibal in the movie version.
