Sean Penn will be receiving this year's Honorary Cesar Award in France, reports Variety. The Cesar Academie is the French equivalent to the Oscars. Past winners of the honorary award include Meryl Streep, Clint Eastwood, and Dustin Hoffman.

  1. It's hard to think of SP in the same category as Streep and Eastwood. C'est la vie.

    2. Sherry - In the movie business there is only one Hollywood. Sorry but the French Movie industry doesn't match up. BAFTA is the closest but still well below hollywood. I'm not talking about quality of actors ect but in size of industry$$.

    4. Sherry - Bollywood is prolific at film making (over 1000 movies produced a year vs about 500 for hollywood). However, Hollywood's revenues dwarf that of Bollywood - $51 bill to $3 billion.

  4. Ha ha ha! Bless your little heart France.
You should have invited me to attend. I would be more than happy to flash the one fingered international symbol of goodwill to him. On camera, even!

Tickle, I guess not. Yet, is it too much to ask? This guy is at the very least a notorious wife beater.

  5. He is a good actor. No where in their nomination statement do they say he's a good human being although I guess that Haiti involvement may count for something,
