Meet Me in St. Louis! I used to sing The Boy Next Door to the bit next door when I was 5. He was in high school and used to drink a liter of Pepsi by the pool.
I have never seen Scrooged and I've heard from many that it is the best Christmas movie for snarky people.
I watch It's a Wonderful Life every year and am forced (to use an Enty turn of words, LOL) to watch A Christmas Story with my nephew. I'm to the point now where I'm starting to hate it, especially when the department store Santa does that HO HO HO right into the camera with lunatic elf next to him. Make it stop! (Also, little Peter Billingsley grew up to be one fine fellow!)
I have all the claymation specials on my dvr that will probably end up getting deleted. I will finally watch and pay attention to all of its a wonderful life in snippets. I started a month ago but now I have to start all over again. And I'll leave the TVs on a Christmas story the day they do the marathon.
The girls have been bugging me to watch Olive the other Reindeer again, so that'll happen tomorrow probably. Oldest Boy wants to watch Willy Wonka tonight, so I guess that has to happen.
I haven't had a chance to watch a single thing and I didn't DVR anything, either. I'm bummed because I was really sick when my brother texted me that one of our favorites (A Very Brady Christmas) was going to be on and I missed out on recording it.
I love watching White Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, Elf, Love Actually, The Holiday, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Merry Christmas Charlie Brown, and (though I haven't seen it in more than 15 years now) One Magic Christmas. And I'll watch some of the Lifetime and Hallmark Christmas movies, too. This year, it'll be whatever I can get on Netflix while I wrap gifts.
I don't watch too many holiday movies (besides Gremlins, The Ref and Eyes Wide Shut - which took place during Christmas week so shut up!) but I do watch holiday themed episodes of my favorite shows - The Sopranos where Bobby was Santa, The first episode of Six Feet Under and this crazy Christmas episode of Spin City.
The Grinch (cartoon version only, I hate the Jim Carrey version) and the Family Stone.
Jason, I just watched Eyes Wide Shut two nights ago, love that film. Except when Nicole has her laughing jag in the bedroom, it makes me cringe from seeming so forced. Truly Tommy's best film though.
Finally, a person who appreciates EWS. Yeah, that scene was so strange, especially with that jerking camera move which was so unlike Kubrick to do. He always keeps his camera steady.
Sugar, I will admit I'm a fan of Tom Cruise films. Maybe not in the last 5 years or so but back in the day he did some good stuff. I love Dsys of Thunder, and Vanilla Sky.
I'm saving both the Miracle on 34th Street movies and The Muppet Christmas Carol for Christmas Eve. Other than that, I'm pretty pleased with my Christmas movie viewing. I'm hoping to catch a sneaky Hallmark movie while I'm at my parents next week.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - someone always ends up putting on that DVD every Xmas and everyone howls with laughter even the patriarch of my clan.
We are ordering Chinese food and watching a Christmas story tonight. Tomorrow Christmas Vacation and The Holiday, Christmas eve we slip into something comfortable and watch a Christmas Carol. My daughter calls her dad 'Clark" because every year he tries to give the kids the ultimate Christmas experience and every year something goes dreadfully wrong.
I am going to watch Christmas Vacation tonight, and tomorrow night is Grumpy Cat night at a friend's. Sunday is Home Alone 1 and 2 and maybe Elf. I will have to see how I feel though. A Christmas Story is our traditional Christmas Eve movie.
I still need to watch LOVE ACTUALLY and rewatch ELF. (We watched it on Thanksgiving, but it's a fave.) CHRISTMAS IN CONNECTICUT should be landing at my library for pickup soon, too.
