Elton John Getting Married

Sir Elton John and David Furnish are getting married! The couple were among the first to have a civil partnership on December 21, 2005. Now that gay marriage is legal in the UK, the couple will celebrate their 9th anniversary by replacing their civil partnership with a marriage, the Daily Mail reports. They are planning a small and intimate ceremony at their estate. The guest list reportedly includes David and Victoria Beckham, Elizabeth Hurley, and Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, and will total 50 people.

    I doubt there are too many people that didn't already think they were married already. Headline should have been 'Can you believe Elton John is not married yet?'

      Ditto for me..Thought they done got hitched. Mazel to them..You never see their children often much though. That's probably good that they aren't pimping them out for the paparazzi.

    I find it difficult to believe that Elton John can do anything "small and intimate".

      He's not well, I thought. Wasn't it rumoured that he had some sort of dementia? And he had that awkward fall last week. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's possible he's no longer capable of hosting a huge, extravagant event, which would be sad.

      Uno, I had not heard about Elton being ill. Sad, if true. Elton John is burned into my memory circa the 1970s. Crocodile Rock always puts a smile on my face.

      @Uno, I hope it's not true that he is ill. He has a young son - three or four years old, I believe? His future husband is a bit younger, in his early 50s, I believe.

      I can't find anything on it, sorry. Maybe I'm wrong - that would be more than OK with me.
      I know he's constantly guessed when an 'aging/old, secretly sick A list celeb' blind item comes up.

      I always thought those blinds 'aging/old, secretly sick' blinds were George Michael, or Morrissey. As I understood it, Elton is constantly flying around the world to play one-off concerts for the ultra.rich. But I have no inside knowledge and could easily be wrong.

      Just checked - Elton John has a ton of stadium tour dates lined up for 2015.

      Of course, that's no guarantee of good health...Michael Jackson had a lot of tour dates lined up when he was not well at all.

      Ah, I see it now - they did have a bash, it was to celebrate their civil union when it first became legal. Now they're taking the big leap as gay marriage is legal. Good for them.

    Did they possibly get married in Canada and that is why everyone thinks they got married? David is from Canada so it would be legal here
