  1. I freaking LOVE Denis Leary. His audiobook actually made me cry (tears of hilarious laughter, that is) and I loved him in Rescue Me and Ice Age (two vastly different roles!).

    1. Seven did you watch Rescue Me all the way through? I have only seen one scene and it has haunted me since. It was Leary talking to some girl he was hooking up with on a dark street about her uncontrollable flatulence when she gets off. I know this probably has nothing to do with a show supposedly about fire fighters or some shit, but now all I can associate with it are super stinky orgasms :(

    2. Ha, I remember that episode! It was so weird, then he went talked to the other firefighters!

The show was very, very well done. I have firefighter relatives and it gives a much more realistic view of what happens in firefighting (and in many ways, the law enforcement community as well). My only complaint is that, as much as I like Denis Leary, he got an awful lot more screen time than the other characters. And one of the girlfriends (the main one), I didn't like her at all - nails on a chalkboard voice, blech.

There was another questionable scene involving rape/not rape. I won't spoil it, but I do remember reading about it before I saw the episode. They got a metric ton of crap for that.

    3. Denis should have won an Emmy for Rescue Me.

  3. I saw Dennis Leary many many years ago at the Comedy Basement when it was a Monday night 5 for $5. Marc Maron was also there that time. He was absolutely hilarious and I find him pretty hot too!

  4. I adore/love/worship Dennis Leary and every time I go to buy coffee I pay homage to the guy by saying ..."I WANT COFFEE FLAVORED COFFEE!!! GET IT?!?!?! and...PULL UP YOUR PANTS! ok...maybe I just ask for coffee flavored coffee. ;)

  5. auntliddy not having read the book, Dennis is a comedian and maybe his intent was to be sarcastic because the reality is there is perhaps too much rush to claim a child is ADHD or autistic when they are in fact spoiled brats - there are kids today that are so smart they will purposely pretend to be one or the other to get out of having to do work etc they don't want to do or just enjoy screwing around with their over involved parents. On the other hand these were conditions under diagnosed not that long ago so it is a good thing that kids who really have these issues are getting the help they need but you can't help feeling the pendulum is swinging too far the other way as in overkill and maybe need to swing back to the middle. Like try other things like fixing diets or introducing structure and keep it up, rather than putting a permanent label on it and prescribing meds.
