Deep Thoughts

How do you like to start your morning?

    1. Why does chocolate taste so good in the morning? I love it.

  5. I like to start my morning with Chris Hemsworth drawing a bubble bath and washing my hair while I sip from a flute glass of mimosa.

I actually start my morning by stumbling to find my glasses and knocking the water bottle off my nightstand and falling out of bed and onto the cat who was laying next to it before stubbing my toe on the chest at the bottom of the bed and squinting to see what time it is on my phone that consistently refuses to recognize my fingerprint and also texts me Jamba Juice deals when I've been to Jamba Juice once in my life. Once I'm done fighting with my robe and trying to wrestle the cap off of the vitamins, I stumble over the dog in the doorway and into the kitchen to find that not only is the Keuring empty of water and flashing ominously, there are no K-cups left and both of the DIY K-cup filters are in the dishwasher under a bowl of sticky oatmeal. Sometimes my commuting partner will call to say today's no good and then I can't find my keys, only they're in the freezer because roomie gets nosebleeds and icy keys on the back of the neck stops the nosebleeds and they figure I don't need my keys because I carpool.

    Sometimes I eat breakfast.

    2. @Seven. Oh dear! If all that isn't a sign that you weren't meant to get out of bed, I don't know what is!!

  6. cup of coffee and a shower. I wish I was one of those people who could work out in the morning, but I can't.

  8. A year ago, I would have said a couple of cigarettes on the porch with a cup of coffee. I quit (8 months!) so now I eat a bowl of oatmeal and enjoy the quiet before the work storm.

  9. I don't like to start my day. If I can get a few minutes cuddling with my dog before I leave for work, though, that's pretty good.

  10. Well Seven, your imaginary morning started out well!

I drag my ass outta bed, get in the shower after brushing my teefs, pee. Go to my dressing table after turning on my jazz station and with my glass of iced tea, read this blog. Dress for business and go into my office in the apt and start work. There's some kisses good bye to the Opster in there as well.

Unless it's Tuesday. Then I drag my ass and 20lb pack to the office downtown.

  11. I usually start the day by trying not to spill my coffee on one or both of my kids who are either sitting on my lap or crawling all over me.

  12. I read this blog and surf the net some. Then scoop up my pup and yawn my way to the kitchen for a spoonful of punt butter while I heat up my breakfast which is usually last nights dinner (that I skipped) or an Eggo sandwich. The pup gets a few nibbles or a tiny chew sumthin cuz I feel it's mean to eat in front of her when she has nothing. (She is more normal than I, she eats her dinner at night.) I haven't wanted coffee much for past few months. Then watch Wendy Willams and a bit of noon news. Tidy up me and house and then get to work in my home office.
(Exception is Wednesday's when I spend much time dealing with my dog running from glass door to glass door barking at the gardener. It's sometimes a couple hour long process. DONT GET ME STARTED.....). Happy Frickin Wednesday!!

Peanut Butter. In my long post I decided shortening that word would really help. I guess it didn't.
      Lol

  13. Just for the last 2 weeks or so I have started drinking warm water with the juice of half a lemon first thing in the morning. It really does make you feel better! (If you google it, there are a lot of benefits to it.)Then I drink tea and have a cigarette on the toilet and read a book on my Kindle for 10 minutes. Sorry if that is TMI....I mostly wanted to recommend the lemon water!

I'm going to mimick your first step in the morning. I'll leave second portion alone
      Thanks for the tip.

    2. I never liked the cigarette on the toilet when I smoked. Made the bathroom waaaay to smokey for me...and the smell mixed in with the other smells that form in the bathroom was just way to much for me.

      Smoky crap.

  15. Flip on the tv and watch whatever Supernatural episode is on and try to wake up. Check eBay to see if I've won anything (if I've put any bids in) and check my email. Exciting I know.

    1. What time do you get up? Supernatural doesn't come on until 8 at night here.

    2. Lol @MinPin! On the days I'm home in the am, I'm watching Supernatural also. One of my faves "Mystery Spot" (the one where the Trickster has Sam & Dean reliving the same day over and over) was on today, which made me very happy.

@Daria, on the East Coast it starts at 9 am.But those are re-runs, not the current season. I'm guessing MinPin meant the re-runs. The current ones start at 9 pm here. And yes, I realize I know far too much about the SPN schedule. It's my guilty pleasure, though. Could be worse... I think.

    3. TNT shows Supernatural reruns back to back from 9:00-noon. On Fridays they sometimes do a marathon til 6:00pm. I don't appologize for being a fan of Supernatural I've even managed to get Mr. Min Pin hooked on it. He even makes Sam and Dean jokes when we're watching episodes of The Haunting. I have seasons 1-6 on dvd but haven't gotten any of the more current seasons yet.

    4. MinPin, guilty pleasure was probably not the right term to use for being a SPN fan...I think I just felt guilty because I was stuck at home on bed rest last Friday and ended up vegging and watching the all day marathon! But I don't apologize either. My husband got me hooked back in the first season and I've been watching ever since.
Interestingly enough, Forbes magazine of all things had a small article about the show when the 100th episode aired a few weeks ago. It was about what other long running shows can learn from SPN. Sorry, I can't clicky yet, but if you want to read it I'm sure googling "Supernatural 100th episode" and "Forbes" will pull it up. It was nice to see the show get some respect from such an unlikely source.

    5. Erica E - thanks for the heads up (I just spent the last 45 min reading all of those articles). It does seem strange that the show has been so successful for years, and outside of the fans, you don't hear much about it or the actors. I'd be interested to see Jensen or Jared in a real movie roll. Everything Jared has done (movie wise) is dopey teen slasher stuff and Jensen did that one that was equally 20 something dumb rom com (he did look hot with the Mohawk, facial piercings and kilt though). I could see both in an action flick easily. Jared was down here in Austin during SXSW last year. I wouldn't be surprised to run into either of them since they're both Texas boys. I would be perfectly okay with that scenario ;)

  17. Turning round to see my 3 month old in her cot giving me a beaming smile. She is such a delight to have. I know that's a bit cheesy but whatever, I'm beyond in love with her.

  18. I am not a morning person...never have been, but sometimes life likes to play with your head just because. Coffee is a must, quiet is an absolute necessity, and it takes me a good hour and a half just to wake up enough to go to work.

  19. My preference? Turning over and going back to sleep.
