Ashanti Has a Stalker

Page Six reports that a fan of Ashanti has been accused of sending X-rated text messages to the singer. His trial begins on Thursday, and he represented himself at the jury selection. He worked the courtroom like a comedy club, saying "How's everybody doing?...My Name is David Hurd. Excuse my attire. I been in the pens for 12 hours. Just letting you know." A few people chuckled. Not everyone was amused. One older gentlemen demanded to be released from the case, stating "Your honor, I can't listen to this! I can't treat this case fairly with this guy representing himself." Everyone's a critic.

OT: Walking Dead fans (which I am not) my 2 friends went to a fan expo in New Jersey and ate lunch with Lauren Cohan and Emily Kinney (whomever they are) and said they were really nice. They also met Norman Reedus for the 2nd time and he remembered them (these girls arent conventional hotties or anything) and said he was very nice as usual.

    1. Very interesting, Derek! Love TWD, and always glad to hear good things about Norman. My brother's gf met him (and she's not even an unconventional hottie), and also said he was super nice and they had a great conversation. She also mentioned that he hugged her goodbye and he smelled amazing...contrary to some rumors out there.

I can see why Norman Reedus would be stalker worthy. Ashanti, not so much.

  5. Lauren Cohan is the best! She plays Maggie on Walking Dead (daughter of the fruitcake farmer, girlfriend of the geek). She was also on Chuck and voiced in Archer. Emily Kinney plays her sister on the show. Lucky friends you have! (If they're the same ones who had to attend the Kardashian gig, I hope meeting actually talented people was a balm!)

  6. What does the (self proclaimed) comedian and suspect mean by "pens"? Is he a farmer or zoo keeper?

  7. @Sincerely I think he's referring to jail cells when he says "pens." Although I'm not sure the charges merit that, especially given the time required to summon and select a jury.

  11. This seems like one of those "Stalkers" that are paid to be a stalker, get a restraining order, cash the checks and then move on. Basically, Ashanti is paying him to do it for publicity, especially after reading Gina's comment. (Has she never heard of getting a number blocked or changing numbers? If all he's doing is sending explicit texts, seems that would be the easiest thing to do)
