Page Six reports that a fan of Ashanti has been accused of sending X-rated text messages to the singer. His trial begins on Thursday, and he represented himself at the jury selection. He worked the courtroom like a comedy club, saying "How's everybody doing?...My Name is David Hurd. Excuse my attire. I been in the pens for 12 hours. Just letting you know." A few people chuckled. Not everyone was amused. One older gentlemen demanded to be released from the case, stating "Your honor, I can't listen to this! I can't treat this case fairly with this guy representing himself."
