Update on Tracy Morgan's Condition

As reported yesterday, Tracy Morgan's attorney appeared at a scheduling conference in New York on Tuesday. After the meeting, the lawyer updated reporters on Morgan's condition. Quoting from The Hollywood Reporter:

"When you have a traumatic brain injury it takes a very long time to find out how you're going to do and how much you're going to recover," Morelli said. "You just don't know. So that's where he is. He's still fighting and trying to live his life at the same time and trying to get better, and he's just not better. We're hoping and praying to get him back to where he was. But the jury's out."

  1. I've never really cared for him, especially after some of the stuff I've read about him, but I wouldn't wish his injuries on anyone.

    1. I agree.... I don't think he's funny and really don't care for him as an entertainer especially after reading the rumors that he spent money, that was raised by friends/co-workers to pay his mortgage, on gambling and hookers instead. Yet, I still would never will this upon anyone. WalMart SHOULD be held accountable. I've seen semi's/delivery trucks veering into other lanes, drivers texting, etc. Nothing one can do when a butt-big 18-wheeler pounces on you/your car because the driver was either falling asleep or texting and not paying attn. WalMart can afford to make compensations for the suffering they caused others. The greedy mf'ers need to take responsibility.

    2. typo: meant "never wish this upon anyone" -- not sure how wish turned into will, but almost kinda/sorta the same thing.

    3. Nora and Bella you said everything I would have said. No fan but don't wish pain and suffering in anyone or his family.

  2. This is so really sad. Avoidable, too. I hope if nothing else it really puts WalMart on the hot seat for the very crappy corporation that it is.
    Get better, T.

  3. I don't like him, however I've worked with ABI and TBI patients, & it's a hard slog. It's probably going to be hardest on his family.

  4. Count me as another who doesn't particularly care for him but would never wish this on him or anyone else. I have a friend who has a TBI from a relatively minor accident and I've seen her struggles ever since.

  5. TBI is no joke! I know a guy who is still struggling after many, many years. I wish him the best.

  9. Sounds like Karma bit him in the ass big time. Hopefully he'll recover and be a nicer person.

  10. I hope that Tracy is doing all the rehab and therapy available to help him. I'll be blunt, Tracy strikes me as a lazy guy so I hope he works as hard as he can. It can be frustrating and with other pain issues you can see people with brain injuries whether strokes or head trauma will get impatient but I've seen how far they can came if they keep at it. The brain is an amazing thing and sometimes the undamaged part of the brain will take over or be trained to take over the functions lost. We all hear about how most of us only use a small portion of the total possible power of our brains, like 10 per cent on average.

I saw a documentary many years ago about children who were born with hydro encephalitis and required brain shunts to drain the fluid off their brains, which can damage the brain. However this group of kids featured were all prodigies and geniuses. So the doctors were trying to understand why. Their brain scans showed the damaged part of their brains were dead or had little activity but that other parts of their brains had taken over the usual functions and not only were they fine their brains were high functioning.
