    2. My bad---did not mean to be insensitive.

    3. speaking of insensitive...I need to apologize for something I said the other day in the "off topic" thread. I mentioned how it was cold & rainy and you (derek) brought up the snow storm in Buffalo. My reply was "yikes...sucks to be them." At the time I said that, I didn't realize how serious it was and that there were fatalities, and people being trapped inside. When I got home and watched the news I realized how serious it was and felt horrible about my earlier comment. So for that....I apologize. I'm not a heartless dick, I swear :)

  2. Diagnosed in 2012 with terminal cancer and given 3 to 6 months to live. It's almost 2015. I'd say God isn't ready for him to finish his journey just yet.

    1. Or the doctors were wrong. I've worked in cancer research for over 20 years and I've never, ever heard any doctor, anywhere give a patient a number of months to live. They simply don't say that kind of thing.

    2. Kno, unfortunately, i have been with loved ones at oncologist and they certainly do give you number of months u can expect to live.

    3. they do tell you how long you can expect to live.
which has always seemed a 50/50 thing to me.
Half of the people will despair, and not live life to the fullest.
Half will go out and kick ass.
My mom had a timeline given to her.

    4. @ kno, it might be a policy thing where you work/live(ie: Rule#3-Never Give The Patient A Deadline-too discouraging).. where I live,They DEFINATELY DO give an estimated time of departure... & for at least the last 45+ years, they always have done such..

    5. I know I make a lot of my comments about me, but I swear it's only because I think it usually (admittedly not always) references what the item is about. This is another one and I promise to try harder not to. But...

Doctors work on guesses a lot based on past patients. When I had my stroke the neurologist and other doctors said it would be a decade or more before I ever walked with a cane if I ever could but would probably be in a wheelchair for most of that time based on case studies. I didn't like that idea, so I worked my ass off and freaked the doctor out when I got out of my wheelchair to pick up a pen I dropped about seven or eight months later. I couldn't go very far, but I was walking on my own.

Hard work or miracle, it doesn't matter. A person can fight any disease they have and decide to live and it seems that is exactly what Mr. Simon is doing. Godspeed, Sir!

She got something like $350 million in the divorce and X amount of royalties for life if until she remarries , which is why she never has.. they remained best friends. She is a pro poker player with her boyfriend Phil Laak the Unibomber.. she and he are very nice and very nice tippers..

  6. Since I'm obviously having a curmudgeon day, I'll go on record as saying I dislike the tweet of the day feature. If it has to be explained, it's not the tweet of the day. If it's a joke only 3% of people will get, it's not the tweet of the day. Just. Sayin'.
Ima go bitch at my admin in real life because I can and because it's Friday.
    Have a great weekend, Anarchists!

  7. Sam Simon is a delusional a-hole. Hated him on Stern, except for when Howard would get mad at Sam for taking his "stylist" Ralph on vacations.

Interesting fact: Jennifer Tilly has made over 9 figures from the Simpsons, because she was married to Sam for the first 6months of the series.

  10. He traveled with Pam Anderson to other countries to protest seal hunting last year. He's got some fight left in him.

Funny thing about that Simpsons/Tilly cash - Sam left the show the same year Conan did - 1993. He still makes a tonne from the show.

    1. Simon was actually ousted by Groening and James L. Brooks.
His contribution to the creation of the show are huge. As he was the only guy in the bunch with background in both comedy and animation, he set the rules for the Simpsons universe that are still being used today on what could or could not happen. According to Wikipedia, he basically created Mr. Burns, Chief Wiggum, Smithers, and a few other characters, and he put together the original writing team
And he was the showrunner during the first two seasons.

Simon could be difficult to work with (George Carlin never forgave his attitude when they worked together), he wanted to get as much credit as Groening when the show became a hit (and he should have), and projects with James L. Brooks failed, so he became estranged from both of them, and signed a contract that prevented him to have any role in the production in exchange for a vanity credit and a cut of the profits.
Simon later became basically excised from the official story. Almost everybody, including O'Brien, was invited to audio commentaries for the episodes they were involved with, but Simon just got a few passing mentions there.

  12. We all like different things but I do like the real estate. I'm enjoying it more than critiquing clothes everyday (because that's everywhere I look) although I do love the fancy red carpet dresses so I hope Outtie posts award show pics wink wink

Ps I'm finally staying signed in thank Zeus!
