TV Show Cancellations

A slew of TV Shows were cancelled in the past week. The latest to get cancelled are Perception over at TNT, and The Millers on CBS. Have any of your favorites gotten the boot this season?

  1. I don't watch any network tv unless I catch it on a streaming service. Sorry to see Justified and White Collar are over.

    1. Wait, what? Justified is over? (I also only stream and Netflix, so I'm not caught up on certain shows. )

    2. Justified has one more season. It starts in Jan or Feb!

    3. Yes. It was announced that this is the last year.

  2. I'm too busy watching, "Vanderpump Rules" and every installment of RH to watch network TV.

  3. I've caught the Millers in passing, it was ok...nothing superior. Sean Hayes seems to be the kiss of death for a TV series. His own was cancelled last season and now The Millers.

    1. I liked Sean on Sean Saves the World. But Linda Lavin and Stacy Keach on there were even better!

  4. Why are they still using series templates from the 1970s? Time for something completely different.

  5. Audrey that's horrible to say about Sean but dang if it didn't happen. I actually liked the Millers but most likely didn't see any of the others. Not a huge network TV person either.

Heard about "Getting On" and actually stumbled across it last night. Started to watched but it came on too late for me. Off to bed.

  6. Kno won is correct. Idont watch any network shows, not one. Really networks, after sopranos, weeds, breaking bad, comedians in cars getting coffee, comeback, newsroom etal, we're gonna watch the sad drek on their channels? Not bloody likely. What gets me is all the shows that get huge rating- the world wars, the roosevelts, and above mentioned, they still dont get it and keep churning out the usual crap. Crank open a window in your closed minds and try something new!

    1. Aunt Liddy--I too have found network TV lacking after having watched shows like The Wire, Breaking Bad and the Sopranos. I am currently watching season 4. of The Sopranos and I am already sad that there isn't that many more episodes for me to watch.

    2. Hot In Cleveland was just cancelled.

      Sean Hayes is bad luck.

  8. I'm with you, @KarenW. Streaming FTW!

What ticks me off about some of the streaming services, though, is how they'll start the stream in weird succession. I've heard great things about "How to Get Away with Murder" so I figured I'd check it out. Hulu+ has episodes 3, 4, and 5. Um, I'm not going to start with episode 3. If you want to hook a viewer, offer them at least the the pilot and second episode, not start with ep 3!

    1. Yep. You have to watch it quick. They only cycle a certain number of shows on some series - kind of like On Demand from a cable provider. Netflix can (apparently) show a season after that season finishes (including reruns), if they have rights to it. I'm almost ready to kick Amazon to the curb. They hardly have anything worth watching with Prime these days. Most of it is pay now. A real disappointment - they were great when they first launched.

    2. 7 htgawm is a slow burn but you have to watch from the beginning all the way through. It's getting good now. I watch about 6 network shows the rest cable.
I loved rush and was mad it gOt cancelled. Rush and satisfaction back to back worked well together. I also liked Dallas.

  11. I'm anti American and don't have cable or satellite, so I use Hulu. I'm a little sad selfie got cancelled, it was kind of funny. Please tv overlords don't cancel reign!!! Let's pretend king Francis lived a long fruitful life.

    1. I watch Reign too, but only because Megan Fellows plays Catherine de Medici. After the first episode I gave up any hope of it being historically accurate, so I am sure Francis will live a long, if not happy life, or at least as long as the show runs.

    2. They might even have kids @basil and maybe Mary will be queen on England or at least besties with that prude Elizabeth!

    3. I love reign and soooo miss the Carrie diaries. I like the girl who plays Kenna.

    4. I don't think it will go that far Krystie. But judging from what I know of history, and where the last episodes of the show have been leading, I have a very strong suspicion they will incorporate the St Bartholomews (sp?) Massacre into the show. I also have a feeling that Princess Claude, whom was in the last show, will replace Margot at the wedding.

  12. Wish they would cancel X Factor. & Strictly/Dancing with the stars.
    Basically all reality shows.
I may decide to start watching if, instead of celebs being booted off reality shows, they face some form of corporal punishment. Surely that would improve performance?
    Harsh but fair, I think.

  14. Most of today's comedies are horrible. Can't anybody write anything funny and smart? I thought From A to Z had potential, but it's already been cancelled. About A Boy was good the first season, but it's on after Bad Judge so I've missed it a few times.

  15. I love "Forever" and I'm glad it's got a full season. I know there won't be a season 2 but 1 season is better than just a few episodes. The last time I liked a show it got cancelled after two frigging weeks!
