Growing up, I knew a lovely, bright and extremely driven young lady named Carrie Hammerslag. Now going by Carrie Hammer, her fashion line has become very successful. She is blowing up all over the Internet during the past couple days, since she just featured Jamie Brewer as the first model with Down Syndrome to walk at New York Fashion Week.

LilSnarky's dad (not MrSnarky) hasn't seen her in a month, missed her game winning shot in basketball, and blew off Valentines Day. So this morning I heard my 8 year old say "daddy doesn't have time for me, and he ignores me when I'm there". So I've been an emotional mess all day.
Snarky, that co-ksucker will get it back someday but not soon enough. How old is he? As for your daughter, a million hugs, reassurance this has NOTHING to do with her, its all her fathers fault, happens to alot of people, mb name some famous ones. Then you and she count all people in her life who do love her, and altho thats not her father its still pretty nice. Is mrsnaky2 good with her? And mb library has spme books geared to her age about tjis problem, like maybe ,Dickhead Dad", or Dads who Blow", or " the useless DAD". I think u get picture! This has happened to other people i know, and if there is something worse than your child being hurt and there is NOTHING u can do about it, i dont know what it is. And if pseudo dad is ignoring her when she visits, perhaps you and she can discuss if she still wants to go. Why shld she hv to go and be miserable? Hugs and kisses to you both, and dont beat yourself up too much. If you had known he was a dick, you never wld have had a kid with him.
Snarky - so sad for your little one. But your daughter will get the last laugh when she's a grown woman and he wants to spend time with her. She can tell him in no uncertain terms to get bent!
Snarky if it's any consolation my dad did that to us too. My mom never said an unkind word but as we got older we knew it was him that prevented us from seeing him and not my mom. He's making an awful uncomfortable bed to lie in, believe me.
Snarky, my heart goes out to you and your daughter. Let her know there are special people she will meet along the way who will love her like a daughter, like a granddaughter - and prove biology has little to do with family or love. Big hugs to both of you
That was great! Who the hell thinks a 2 yr old is gonna ait theu a fashion show? Cmon now! Poor kid cant ever jusy wear kid clothes, instead of impossibly ugly black shit, and just play. You know, roll a ball, squeeze a stuffed animal,chew on a book. I feel for that kid, i really do.
Harper Beckham seemed to behave beautifully in a similar situation,but then she was with someone she might have recognised and spent time with -ie her own parents.a picture paints a thousand words.....

Alyson Stoner was on a bunch of Disney stuff my girls watched when they were a bit younger... looks like she's had some work done since her "Camp Rock" days, but girl sure can still dance her ass off!
@GOML: Yep - I know at least HE knows it's supposed to be a racy one! He is the greatest & a super fun sense of humor. We joked to him, do the others know 50 shades of grey is NOT reference to black & white movies? We also suggested there was an aid car on call nearby & to make sure they all had taken their meds before going! LOL! Keeping us here in the office amused today anyhow! We are dying for him to come back with the re-cap! ;)

Since my dad's stroke he's turned into a bit of a dirty old man. If me or Mr. Min Pin would get up in the middle of the night we Have on occasion caught Dad watching all the XXX stuff on Cinemax or whatever. Now THAT was a visual neither one of us needed.
Had my 4 yr old grandaughter over, so decided to put up my valentines day decos, since they will all be over tomorrow. So i get my stuff, then realize hey this stuff is paper, i love it, why dont i lamiate it??!! Hour and half later, decos laminated and hung up. Grandaughter? In den snuggled with her papa, about as interested in what i was doing as kim k is in wearing an a-line shift, lol. Oh, we were drawing and talking about eyes and parts of eyes, like pupil. So few mins later she say, very seriously," i have a black dot in each eye. They are my nipples."!!!!!!! Lol, i said you know where ur nipples are. Yes, she says, on my stomach! We chatted about anatomy after that, lol.
Just noticed that there is a Pterodactyl size blob of bird shit on my deck that has splashed onto the French doors and thinking about cleaning that up. Otherwise I haven't done much in the way of work today. I do have a meeting in 2 minutes for the next hour.
The SIL has dangled free food if we help her schlep stuff to her new abode tonight, which is also the MIL's house. As she's in a care facility it was empty and what better way to save $ (while still getting some to go towards her care) and have family keep an eye on the house? They could get more money if they rented outside of the family but it's family and that's what you do for family. Plus then we're not dealing with renters which can be a total PITA.
Got to play the blind leading the blind driving game, trying to find the friggin realestate office to close on the refinancing of the parents house. Don't you love trying to find someplace with someone else's written directions? Yeah we got our ass lost. That was the big event of the day. I figure if that's the worst that happens on Friday the 13th, then I'm cool with it. Got the papers signed, house paid off in just 15 more years.
Aside from hearing "I think I love you" in my head for the last two hours? ugggg!

I am just so extremely grateful that it is Friday. Heading out in a bit for Greek food to celebrate a friend's birthday.
