Hugh Grant Will Never Put A Ring On It

Hugh Grant spoke to People magazine about marriage at the premiere of his latest movie The Rewrite. People quotes him as stating:
"I'm not really a believer in marriage. I've seen very few good examples, maybe five, in my life, but I think otherwise it's a recipe for mutual misery."

However, he does enjoy being a father:
"What has surprised me most is, I think, how enchanting I am as a father. I break my own heart, I'm so nice."

  1. I love that he's being so honest about it, more people would benefit from being honest about it, IMO. I feel the same way. :)

  3. Parenting and or marriage ain't for everyone.

My baby brother married his high school sweetheart and is an awesome dad. I never had the same inclinations and came to understand that those things weren't for me.

Everyone should be comfortable with who they are.

  4. Yep at least he's honest about it. If a man or woman doesn't trust in marriage you shouldn't force them to do it.

  6. I think Hugh is joking about how great a father he is, in much the same style as many of his characters I would add.

    1. Agreed.A dry sense of humour translates badly into written text

    2. I first thought that, but then remembered that in real life he has absolutely no sense of humor.

  8. Well at he is being honest- in his eyes anyway. I dont know who wld want to marry him; he seems like a bad risk, what with his sperm spewing all over the place impregnating women. Then there are the underage girls and visits to prostitutes. So im going with he ahld worry, he really isnt much of a catch, lol

  9. Oddly enough auntliddy we see on these pages everyday that Hugh type behaviour has not stopped many women from making that mistake and sometimes over and over again, though it is a quite a feat to get these kind of guys to the altar

  10. I do think Hugh has been forced back to work, he seemed to disappear and now he's busy, he has a new movie coming called the Rewrite, he is in the Guy Ritchie movie Man from Uncle. [Not sure if Ritchie got the lead casting right though]

    1. Hot damn! I hadn't heard about a new Guy Ritchie flick! Guy Ritchie has yet to make a movie I don't like. I have to believe if he cast Hugh than he must be right for the part. I used to love watching Man From Uncle back in the day. I always had a thing for Illya Kuryakin myself.

  11. I saw him on Fallon the other day and he seems to be ageing into my mother.

  12. When someone tells me she is a great mom or he is a wonderful dad, I always think, I'll believe it when I hear it from your child/ren.
