David Cassidy has filed for bankruptcy. TMZ reports that the former teen heartthrob filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. He owes $300,000 on his home, and has $40,000 in credit card debt. Puka shells don't pay like they used to.
He really wasn't a bad actor, so either he was so typecast that he didn't get offers, or the addiction got him..Or both. Agree with basil..he could pull off something...even bit parts would pay the bills.
I think Outtie meant Chapter 13 as Chapter 11 is for businesses. Chapter 13 bankruptcy will not discharge all of his debts. It will put him on a payment plan where he will get to pay them off within 3-5 years. Chapter 7 discharges all of your debt, but that is for people who are really dead broke.
When you're an alcoholic it's pretty hard to hustle your ass off for anything other than booze. Seriously. If he could get sober he probably could get a paying gig and work off that debt.
LOL I went to a karaoke thing last night after some friends I haven't seen in years called me up to go out. There was a couple in their mid 60's sitting there and after I did my Award Winning (Winning $200 is an award lol) version of Beth, the husband came over and asked me if I'd sing "I Think I Love You" for his wife since it was their song when they were going out. Since it was Valentine's Day AND their anniversary, I did it for them and made everyone in the bar pitch in to buy them a bottle of Champagne. It made their night and the wife told me it was the best anniversary present she could ever get.
I guess I can spare .99 to download "I Think I Love You".
ReplyDeleteWhat happened, Keith Partridge?
ReplyDeleteHis life is chaotic due to his alcoholism.
ReplyDeleteSurely there's a market for over-the-hill has-been teenybopper sensations?
ReplyDeleteDivorce related.

ReplyDeleteSorry, TMZ, not Outtie. That's weird because Harvey would know the difference. Either way, you have to pay your debts back with Chap. 11 or Chap. 13.
ReplyDeleteBut I thought he was doing really swell, singing on cruise ships!
