Bob Simon of 60 Minutes Killed in Car Crash

On Wednesday night, award-winning 60 Minutes correspondent Bob Simon was killed in Manhattan. CBS News reports that he was riding in a Lincoln Town Car that crashed on the West Side Highway. Simon was 73. Read his full obituary at CBS News.

  1. That was the first thing I heard when I was waking up this morning (Bose creeps in the NPR news at 6:30) and I was so bummed to hear that and how it happened even sadder :( RIP Mr. Simon, you will be missed!

  4. I read the headline about his death last night, and I couldn't believe it. Shocking doesn't begin to describe it. I still watch 60 Minutes almost every week, and I always liked listening to Mr. Simon. His voice reminded me of my dad's.

  5. Shocking and sad. And its so weird, a couple of days ago i remembered he has been kidnapped in Iran, and i looked it up and started reading about it. And now he's dead in car crash! Eerie, my psychic powers are getting stronger lately. Well, anyway, this man has covered like 4 wars so to go in car accident is so crazy. Good bye sir, and good journey to the other side. All sympathies to family.
