Jamie Brewer is First Model With Down Syndrome To Walk at NY Fashion Week

Jamie Brewer, 30, made history this week when she walked in designer Carrie Hammer's "Role Models Not Runway Models" show at Fashion Week. The Today Show reports that Brewer is the first woman with Down syndrome to walk at Fashion Week. Brewer is also an actress, you may know her from her appearances on American Horror Story.

    2. @Basil- I knew Carrie from when she was around 13-18. We weren't ever tight but some of my best friends are still close with her. It's nice to see people you knew way back when going out and doing good.

  7. Not sure why this is a big deal, but congrats to Jamie, and thanks to the designer who is doing her part to break the mold.

BTW Jamie is a pretty good actress. I've only seen her on American Horror Story, but none of the characters she has played were very likable. Yet, when they died (RIP Addie and Nan. Not you Marjorie) we missed them. So that speaks volumes for Jamie's onscreen presence and talent. She has that "it" quality.
