Kardashian Korner

Kanye almost pulled another Kanye on Beck last night when he won Album of the Year. In case you thought he was just joking, he decided to elaborate on his feelings after the show.

Buzzfeed had two amazing articles that sum things up in a fantastic way:

1) Here is: 5 Reasons Why Beck Beat Beyoncé (and it doesn't even mention that Beck's mother was an Andy Warhol "Superstar"!)

2) Beyoncé and Beck's fans got into a war on the singers' Wikipedia pages, which can be seen here. The best entry by far is on Beck's page: "This article is about a man who has achieved 3 decades of musical success mainly by himself. For the woman who needed 5 singers and 2 vocalists behind her to achieve any decent level of success, see Beyoncé"

  1. Beck over Beyonce anyday, thanks.

  2. Who knew dude hadn't hit bottom yet. Insulting one of the true ultimate talents of music is just revolting. FU Kanye!

  3. I saw a gif collection that showed everyone in the audience reacting to Kanye almost Kanye'ing. Jay-Z looked like he was going to crap bricks. Oh, and when Beck was announced, at least one of them turned and said, "Who?" The first BuzzFeed had it right - 12 writers for an album that has songs with words like "smack it, swing it" lather/rinse/repeat and Beck writes lyrics that sound like true poetry.

  4. A Wiki war? Seriously?
Way to keep it Old school.

  5. "Beck needs to respect artistry and give the award to Beyonce" - holy cow, Kanye really is delusional. Photoshopping your thigh gap is not artistry.

  6. Paul Stanley from Kiss said Beck "should've kicked Kanye right in the nuts".

I have to admit, that probably would have been the most entertaining thing to happen at the Granmys.

    1. Kanye only bullies people he knows won't do that..

  7. I said it the other day, Kanye is such and ass. He just loves Beyonce so much that anytime a white artist gets a win over her he acts like a petulant child. And it's beyond rude to take away that person's spotlight. It's not like Beck or Taylor Swift stole the award or voted for themselves. Bitch to the governing body and if you don't like it don't participate. Class act will never be used to describe him. Did you read Beck's reply? He was the epitome of class.

  8. Kanye only interrupts people that he thinks he can get by with doing it and they won't call him out. Taylor Swift was a child (at that time) and Beck is a humble, peace-loving pacifist. Beyonce's artistry consists mostly of getting half naked and singing about sexy times. Whatever.

  9. You're right Brenda. Anyone bigger than Kanye he wouldn't have pulled that shit. Stanley's right he needs a good swift kick in the nuts.

  10. He continues to make himself ridiculous. Producers of all award shows that Kanye attends should duct tape him to his seat.

I find it interesting that West doesn't believe that artistry extends beyond hip-hop, rap and Beyonce. Roll over Beethoven, Bach, Schubert & Chopin, you're all hacks according to Yeezus.

    1. You don't need duct tape you just don't invite him anymore. Not like there is a shortage of talent for the live performances in fact give a slot to Beck next year.

    1. I know, Aunt Liddy. I'd have so much more respect for him if he wasn't a cos.

    2. I dislike COS as much as anyone, but the way I look at is that there are people of every religion (yes, I know, it shouldn't count, but bear with me here...) who follow a particular path, but don't get too wrapped up in all the behind-the-scenes machinations, and who are basically decent people who treat others well; I may disagree strongly with the belief system, but as long as they're not trying to cram it down my throat, or being assholes to other people about it, then live and let live. I met his longtime bassist Justin several years back when he was playing w/NIN, and he was a lovely individual (it was amusing seeing someone on the Grammy stage who actually tweeted about my brownies once...); he's also COS, FWIW, so I figure that if Beck is anything like him, he's probably a pretty good egg, too.

TL;DR version: Some people are OK and some are assholes, and every belief system has plenty of each. Oh, and I don't care what his alleged reasons were, it was still totally classless of Kanye to pull that stunt. (Really, do you WANT to be compared to Ol' Dirty Bastard--R.I.P.--because you both decided to hop up on an award show stage and rant about why someone else should have won?)

    3. Robin i cannot get beyond the cos thing. Its just a batshit cult, and i cant respect anyone involved in it. Naturally if i ran into him i wld be perfectly polite, but thats how i feel.

  12. Well he seems low key about it, the reality is it did not matter who won that award, Kanye had no right to ruin yet another award moment of someone else, even if it had been Justin Beiber and Beyonce did deserve it more, rant after the show on social media if you must

  13. The best insult of all is that Kanye news has been reduced to appearing in Kardashian Korner. Suck on that, Kanye! lol

  16. I almost feel bad for kimmie. She just had to stand there next to him as he talks so passionately about someone else. You know Kanye has never said anything about Kim other than "she aight" or "dat ass tho"

  17. I don't listen to either of them (Although I did love "Loser" back in the day), Beck still should come out on top since he's actually an artist and not just singer/dancer.

And Kanye needs to realize he's not the best rapper in the world. Everyone knows the two best rappers in the world are the ones that are on every rap/R&B songe made in the last 15 years, they are "Featuring" and "With". One of those two are on every rap song out there now

  18. What makes this all worthwhile is seeing Kim embarrassed for the first time in her life. Her eyes are going to roll out of her head lol!!!
