    1. I LOVE DirectTV and have never regretted kicking Time Warner to the curb.

    2. Imagine what Comcast and Time Warner will be like together. Comcast is in the news yet again today for cashing some old lady's rent check, and then just wanting to give her a Comcast credit for the amount instead of giving her the money back so that she could actually pay her rent!! Thankfully, the story got to the media, and they returned it immediately. Assholes x 1,000,000.

    4. I love my DirectTV. For the longest time, like 6 yrs they never raised my rate. Thoroughly happy with their service. Always super nice when you have an issue. Enjoy Julie.

  2. I'm binging on Jimmy Webb and he's great for what ails me.

Son of an okie Baptist minister, his dad performed the marriage of Florence LaRue of the 5th Dimension in a hot air balloon. Guess what song that inspired? 1967 Song of the Year (and still a dear little charmer....)

    1. Ah! Jimmy Webb. His Ten Easy Pieces album gets a lot of play in this house. I saw him in concert with Michael Feinstein ten years ago. They were excellent.

    1. How is the non-smoking thing going? I SO want to quit. How are you doing it - cold turkey, nicotine gum/patch, e-cig?

      Delete
    2. Karen - I'm using the nicotine patch and it is taking away the physical cravings, but mentally, all I can think about is having a smoke!!!!

    3. Sending positive vibes @getoffmylawn Quitting smoking was the hardest thing I have EVER done! Quit cold 14 years ago after someone I loved was diagnosed with lung cancer & never looked back or taken a single drag since.

It did ruin drinking for me temporarily though, as the 2 go hand in hand, but no worries, I got over that eventually! (Can't give up EVERY vice!)
      ;)

    4. I went cold turkey on a Saturday AM & gave myself a few days of being a b*tch & staying in bed, but once I knew the nicotine was out of my system & it was about retraining my brain/habits I kept reminding myself that it was all psychological & I would not let this control me. I just kept telling myself over & over again every time I wanted to smoke that I was stronger than that & not to give in. When I was really desperate I literally still walked around the building & took the deep breaths as if I was smoking, minus the cigarettes. Sounds cheesy, I know.

    5. Thanks for the support!!!! I sure do need it!!!!

    6. I quit and i sympathize. You have so many smoke related habits you dont even realize, and its brutal to switvh them. For example, i never thought id be able to eat italian food without cig after. Now the thought disgusts me, but then very much a habit. So good vibes and juju to everyone trying to quit!

    10. GOML. Best of luck to you. I swore with this last cold I was done smoking but nope. Kept at it. I hate being a smoker so time to stop as well. Rooting for you though.

    11. Thanks Sherry. The worst part of it is that I truly enjoy smoking!! Talk about saying good bye to an old friend!!!

  4. Recovering. The dog got away from me yesterday and I took a bad fall. Of course, first order of business was checking to see if anyone saw it happen...LOL! Then I realized I was okay. But man, I am SO SORE today and I am walking around here like a 92 year old lady.

  5. I'm bored and baking. Today it is chocolate sugar cookies. Tomorrow I'm making a Conversation Hearts sugar scrub for my 12-yr-old and salted caramel and banana mason jar pudding.

I might need an intervention soon.

    2. Hey we're doing Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Cookies over here. Got this recipe that tastes like them and you can even shape them into peanut shapes if you want (we tried once but don't bother now). It has the recipe for the frosting/cream filling, but damn it's sweet. We pretty much just bake the cookies by themselves.

    3. MinPin - those are my favorite cookies. I'm going to Google the recipe.

      Karen - come on over!

  12. I actually sorta screwed around work today. Been busting my ass and not feeling like I'm getting anywhere whereas when I chill I reach my goal. Yep, that's how it's been working.

Watching or rather time sharing the SIL's dog for two days and it's nice having a pet around. Plus the NorCal weather is quite conducive to dog walks. It's just abso gorg here and going to be nicer tomorrow.

Three day weekend with no big plans save for a quiet V-Day with the Opster.
