I liked him a million years ago when he was on tv on 2 Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place. Since then I really don't get why he's supposedly so great. I mean what in the hell movie has he done that's very good? I can't think of one. Same with Gosling, I can't think of anything tremendous he's done in the theater.
Renner on the other hand has Hurt Locker, The Town and the Bourne Legacy to his credit, and they don't trip out half as much over him. Somebody 'Splain that to me please.
Hell even Reynolds wife Blake has more movie cred (in my book) than Ryan does. So sue me, but I loved Savages and she was decent in (ironically enough) The Town. I think her problem is she started believing she was much better than she was. She's the type that could have had a decent career in smaller roles here and there instead of always expecting the lead role. I think she blew her acting chance by settling down with Reynolds.
Re: Reynolds vs Renner, I think one issue is that, despite his perceived lack or personality or talent, Reynolds is universally believed to be good-looking, while Renner is not everyone's cup of tea, physically speaking. Personally, I find Renner to be particularly UNattractive, so I wouldn't expect people to fawn all over him like they do Reynolds, even though he is more talented.
Reynolds used to be good looking - he's certainly looking rough in this clip. I think Reynolds may follow the Brad Pitt path, beautiful when young and then not age particularly well. The problem with that is, are you an actor or a movie star? If you're an actor (a good one), you'll continue to work. If you're a movie star and your value is in your looks, not your talent, you'll be in trouble.
Huh, I personally think Renner is better looking, but then I don't typically like pretty boys (Matt Bomer excepted). Renner's talent makes him more appealing to watch too I'd have to add. It doesn't matter how good you look if you make me cringe while trying to watch you onscreen. Some of the cringing (in fairness) has to do with the stupid roles he's played. I 100% agree with Karen W. And the actor vs. movie star thing.
Hasn't every parent had the thought that their newborn is incapable of sleep or is keeping mom & dad up on purpose as some sort of retribution for the trauma of birth?
Ryan and Blake can afford help if they choose, most people can't. Most people also don't have a schedule of working for 3 months, earning a few million dollars and having six months off (or spend six months "getting into shape" for the next role). Most people don't make money by having a Goop-esque website that is filled with content written by others. Most people don't start their day by dozing in a make-up chair for a couple hours before beginning work filming a couple of 45 second takes spaced out between an hour or two set-up. Most people don't have personal assistants to do their daily errands, pay their bills, screen their phone calls, schedule their appointments, etc. When Ryan & Blake have to stay up all night for days on end with a colicky baby, be out the door at 6:00 a.m. for an hour drive to their 8-hour work shift then run to the grocery store, scoot home to fix dinner for the family, feed, change and bathe a baby and maybe catch the news and a rerun of Gilligan's Island before fallingl into bed hoping for a solid 30 minutes of shut-eye before the next feeding, then this story might be charming. As it stands now, it's a bunch of whining -or- an attempt to be just like the little folk.
Yes, they are very Goop-esque, but this is typical new parent holy crap what happened to my life celeb stuff. Undoubtedly they have at least one nanny and a cook and mini-Downton-esque staff for him and Marble Mouth.
The best thing about 2 Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place was having Traylor Howard and Nathan Fillion on the screen at the same time. That needs to happen again.
I vaguely remember that show. If I remember rightly, Reynolds schtick was to play the very good looking, funny, charming, lovable goofball. It's a role he excels at, but is now too old for.
I dont know much about him, but i found him very funny. My 2 nd granddaughter had no use for sleep either, just didnt see the need. Brief catnap and ready to roll, lol
i'm so over these two asshats and they're trying to make baby fetch happen
