    1. The show gets better every week. I want to be Cookie, (minus the prison time).

    2. I would love to have her balls. That woman isn't afraid of anybody.

When she was drunk and stuck her legs up in the air for the security guy "to take a bite of Cookie" I cracked up. She was wearing some great shoes in that scene too!

  3. OT - just curious - Mr. B had a epidural spinal injection today for bad back pain. He had a 90 degree scoliosis for which he received 2 titanium rods and fusions years ago (he's 70 now). He's had chronic pain all his life which has gotten worse over the past 6 months. Obviously 3 hours is a little too soon to see if the epidural has helped, but do any of you have any experience with this? Any other ways to go? He's tried acupuncture (no help), physical therapy (minor help) and localized injections. They said the next step would be steroids and/or one of those implantable TENS units. They're hesitant about surgery since his back is so deformed (if it weren't for the scoliosis his MDs have said he would have been 6 inches taller). I'm really depressed about all this, hate to see him in pain, but don't know a lot of people to ask about anecdotal results. Any info would be appreciated!

    1. Sorry Susan :( Have you guys tried any vitamins or supplements? I was surprised at what a difference they made pain wise.

    2. My Mum has had several back surgeries, is in constant pain and now at the age of 78, she's practically doubled over.

I know some people who have had success with the spinal injections, hopefully Mr. B is one of those peeps.

    3. I have an extra vertabrae -L6. I'm 45 and started having major pain around age 39. I've had facet joint injections, epidural blocks, and a RFA -radio frequency ablation. The RFA was the best for me. I was pain free for 1 year. I had the other injections done in October and it didn't help much. I think it's hit or miss for me. The PT helped to some degree. I need to do the RFA again but I'm tired of the 2 "trial injections" required before ins will cover the RFA - along with 3 days of one day surgery copays.
I am so sorry he has this pain. The injections should work within the first 4 days. Once he finds what works - fight for that treatment! So that he can get on a schedule for relief. Good luck!

    5. SusanB I had a spinal fusion 8 years ago and had the spinal epidural a few times before having the surgery. I understand he's 70 but the thing that really helps me deal with the pain and has made things so much easier for me since the surgery is strengthening the muscles around the spine. It may be the deteriorating muscle that's causing him problems again. Exercise is so important to those of us with back problems. It's not a quick fix but in the long run its invaluable.

  6. @Susan, have you looked into THC treatment? It's surprisingly effective for inflammation and pain. I'd also recommend heat/water therapy (hot tub, swimming, etc.). Give the injection time, like maybe a week. It doesn't take the pain away, but it reduces the inflammation that causes the pain. Best wishes for Mr B, chronic pain is a bully! And for you - being a caretaker is no mean feat.

I have never in my life thought that taking a photo of myself wearing Pond's cold cream and tagging it 6AM was a thing. I guess that's why I'm not rich and famous. :/

  7. We'd love to try thc but unfortunately it's not legal in Florida😞. I'm not familiar with RFA to the back (I used to work in a cardiac Cath lab where we did them on hearts). I'll ask the MD about it. Thanks also for the vitamin/supplement suggestion. I'll research it. And thanks for all the support!!

    1. I hate that THC is vilified. Real medical THC doesn't get you stoned, it actually decreases inflammation. I hope the people still fighting the "war on drugs" that has made the drug trade even worse realize that THC isn't "dope".

For you - evening primrose oil supplements are amazing at helping with the calm issues. A friend of mine is a huge proponent of essential oils, too. Remember to take care of yourself!

    1. Sunshine, I just walked in the living room and Mr Tacky had it on. OMG, I had no clue this show existed or that it was GREENVILLE, MS, which Mr Tacky and I have been to a few times. Not to sound snooty, but I have no idea how they can find enough footage to make a reality show about a newstation in that town. Tiny town. Nothing really to note, except for the fact their water is pee yellow. Something to do with the trees, but very yellow. Oh, and the Kermit museum is pretty cool.

  10. SusanB, I saw a commercial for a laser spine surgery place last night, that advertised that most people leave the same day with a tiny incision that an ordinary bandage could cover. Of course every commercial makes things look good, but it struck me how advanced things have become, given how laid up people needing back surgeries were when I was younger. Maybe it's worth asking about. Good luck to both of you.
