@califblondy- Those grand entrances! Those cakes! Those mega arched EYEBROWS! Did you hear that Mo'Nique claims the role of Cookie was first offered to her?! Praise tha lawd that got shut down!
on fleek I wonder if fleek isn't two words put together, or derives from a foreign word or taken from fleck, one of the defn of fleck is spot, on fleek is spot on, on trend, on point? I am word geek
I'm on the BCS train! BCS related side note: I think that Jimmy doesn't want Chuck to find out he has reverted back to "Slippin Jimmy" for obvious reasons, but also bc he played his (Chuck's) old law firm in the scam.
Also, lots of people didn't like last night's TWD, but it was one of my favorite episodes.
I started/stopped the 1st season couple times, didn't really get into it. Partly I think cuz I'd just binged Shamless, so to me Vane was the idiot Jody, who sucks his own dick & Max's accent really bugged me at the beginning too. But, got to 2nd season this weekend & it's way better IMO & now I'm current. Love the flashbacks that show how Flint got to be on the island & now Max is my fave along with Bonny/Rackham(?) **BLACK SAILS SPOILER HERE** It made me super irritated though that these guys all had suspicions about Flint's motives & actions, but instead of confronting before or after their mission, they wait until the fucking ship with the fucking gold is in the line of sight, and are like " yep, now's a good time to hash this out" Are you fucking kidding me!!! I got a little riled up there. Still a bit angry thinking about all the gold just waiting for them. I hope Vane gets it now
BCS SPOILERS *Saul needs a new ride, yo *Ricky vs Chuck vs SexToilet Dude all highlighted different forms of cray *Dammit Chandler!!!! Get it together! *Like a LSAT question, if 50% of lawyers are idiots and the rest are crooks, then all smart lawyers are criminals by Saul's logic. This helps explain his transition from Slippin Jimmy to McGill to Goodman; elderly lawyer to criminal lawyer. Can't wait for Nacho, Tuco & the Juarez boys *Anyone else worried about his phone when he grounds himself to see Chuck? It could get swiped easily. *Fascinating that Saul chose to be the honorable defender of the elderly - one of the most exploited groups- right after the Abuelita debacle *I have stupid little feet and toes like Kim. Everyone teases me about it. *Mike visits the cafe used in BrBa *That Matlock suit! Saul should've been a fashion designer! *As I have said in prior posts, Chuck's electro sensitivity condition is not supported by research or recognized by the medical/scientific community. More evidence that it's psychologically rooted. This decision he had to make pains me. I've been there. *Who was the woman? Mike's estranged daughter/DIL? Work related? Could it be an ex too (he was watching The Awful Truth earlier FYI) *The episode was named after the Hummel figurine, and the ridiculousness of Saul's newfound caseload. Fun BrBa Fact: Marie stole a Hummel (Open House episode). *Yep @CantHaveMyPurse- E6 should be Mike centric. Hopefully we finally get the backstory on his parting with Philly PD and the half measures case. It could also just be something simple (he was watching that woman)
ok just finished bcs and yes i thought the same about his phone in ep 2 when he was talking to nacho and tuco that leaving your phone in the mailbox was maybe no bueno idea i thought saul should have had chuck committed just so he could take conservator ship and cash out chucks 18 million. i thought seeing his business partner at the hospital would have been the incentive enough to do it. he will only regress and get worse now b/c he knows jimmy doesn't have the backbone to commit him.
i think mike's son got killed in one of his shady drug busts or something he was up to in philly. that's his daughter who turned him in. remember in brba he was always wanting to take care of his granddaughter?? this is where he finally makes ammends with either his daughter or dil, son's wife who blames him for her husbands death.. yeah mike backstory next week..
i think chuck's condition is all mental as well and he keeps pushing the envelope to see what he can get away with , with jimmy. jimmy is indeed an enabler
LadyH I love your recap with the BrBa tie ins. awesome. Sorry I didn't join for the convo. I get into relax mode and put my phone away lest I get the eye from the Opster. Although now that he actually has a smart phone he's been glued to that screen. Ha!
@sugartits- I think the point of that scene was to show not only the hardships he faced, but to emphasize the differences between Jimmy and Saul. Saul would've had Chuck committed and cashed out. This was a time when he still stood for something and actually cared.
Did you read that theory on Mike's son somewhere or was it in a preview for next week's episode? Hadn't heard that but makes sense.
Jimmy is def an enabler. I'm not sure Chuck is "testing" him though- at least not consciously - more so, he just can't help himself and is that ill. It's consistent with paranoid schizophrenia in the symptoms and duration, but the age of onset is late, assuming it really started 2 years ago. However, Kim looked like she disagreed that Chuck had no history of mental illness. Could also just be severe hypochondriasis or a related anxiety disorder (panic attack, agoraphobia etc).
Random Thought: I highly doubt it, but how crazy would it be if Chuck's illness was one meta scam that they are collaborating on!? No way, but still funny.
Thanks @sherry boo
@Tacky Fries- From what it sounded like, Chuck was always free to leave. He was not being held under any 5150-like statute, as he was probably not enough of a danger to himself or others to warrant immediate hospitalization. The doctor recommended 30 days of inpatient care, but it was Jimmy's right to refuse it, since he is now seemingly the one formally responsible for Chuck's care
@Lady--I meant on a simpler level. Like physically, how did he get him home? I'm assuming car ride, but I'm sure that was torture for Chuck. Outdoor, power lines, red lights, car itself, etc.
LOL @Tacky Fries- Ok, yeah probably just loaded Chuck up into the twotone Esteem!
So the big questions are: (1) will Mike use Saul's card and hire him? Or (2) will Mike team up with Nacho and Saul due to what I can imagine will be impending financial strains?
I think Mike will hire Jimmy, but only because he underestimates him figuring out Mike's "other" feelings, whatever those may be. I don't see Jimmy actively searching Nacho out, but I'm sure the writers could support it with the right side plot.
lady h.. the theory on mikes son was from the previews talking about who killed mikes son and the woman's overall mystery. i remember in brba that he said he finally had a relationship with his granddaughter. i just put 2/2 together in my head.. may not be accurate but it was my guess of whats going on
they were saying in next weeks previews that mike was being brought in to help find mikes sons killer and bring the killer to justice but i'm guessing he had a part in one of mikes shady drug deals/gambling deals back in philly and mike already knows the killer which is why he was on the lamb in az
Tacky fries- Since we know Nacho and Don Eladio of Juarez have deeper ties to Saul from BrBa S2E8, we can bet that Nacho will go to Saul (again). Either over the Kettleman fallout (he is still pissed over Saul ratting and loss of theft profits, plus his businesses generated interest of cops). Besides, guys in his line of work always need a dirty lawyer they can trust and blackmail/extort.
Ah ok @sugartits- that makes sense. I never read/watch upcoming spoilers. i don't see Mike being cooperative lol
The other big question is whether Chuck is deceased or permanently hospitalized 6-7 years down the line in BrBa era. Either ways, Saul's guilt and grief over Chuck also explains a lot of differences in his character
RuPaul's Drag Race...start your engines!!
ReplyDeleteROFL at on fleek (Here is an article on wtf that even means, for those of you who are confused.)
ReplyDeletePlus, a great clip of Hugh Laurie and Ellen quizzing each other on Brit vs American slang.
But most importantly: Where my BCS crew at?!??
I am soooo sick of waiting!!! :(
I'm ready for tonight! It's my new addiction. Especially since DA is over.

DeleteLady I need to get caught up. I'm on the 3rd episode. I think tonight is #5, so hopefully next week I'll be able to join in the discussion.
DeleteI'm behind on Downton. It's gone from fun to a chore.
ReplyDeleteI keep hoping Carson the Butler shows up in a leather harness and takes Lord Grantham as his submissve whatever. Is that wrong of me?
it seems as likely as anything right now...
DeleteThank you Lady, that 1st article summed it up quite well - I mean it was on fleek
ReplyDeleteHeeeheee @shopgirl ;)
DeleteI'm here for BCS, Lady H! Last week was great! Looks like Chuck might be in trouble for snatching that neighbors newspaper, tho...
ReplyDeleteThis show is awesome....
Hell yes @DivinGirl and @Canthavemypurse! It's going to be amazing.
DeleteI'm watching, too! Saul was always my fav character on BB. He is shady, but has a good heart. I'd hire him if I needed a lawyer!
DeleteI'm down for BCS tonight too. Must see TV for us.
DeleteKim Kartrashian and Ariana Grande Latte love the term "on fleek", therefore it is not part of my vocabulary.
ReplyDelete^like^
DeleteWhere is the voice of reason that's always telling us to - Stop trying to make fetch happen!!!
DeleteI finally watched about four episodes of Empire yesterday and Cookie Lyon is my new obsession. She is the baddest bitch ever.
ReplyDelete@califblondy- Those grand entrances! Those cakes! Those mega arched EYEBROWS!
DeleteDid you hear that Mo'Nique claims the role of Cookie was first offered to her?! Praise tha lawd that got shut down!
The big earrings! The jungle prints!
DeleteShe's so politically incorrect. When she called her Gay son's Mexican boyfriend "Dora", I died. She has the best lines.
One minute I'm laughing and the next she's got me teary.
Mo'Nique would have been too over the top, IMO.
I'm not a Terrence Howard fan, but I really like him in this. Hell, even the supporting characters are all very good.
This show is soooo damn good.
I love Cookie and her halfwit assistant. So look wanna have Cookie over for dinner.
DeleteI adore Empire too..Good good good!
DeleteI've started watching Empire. Drah-mah!
DeleteHave yet to get hold of BCS. love Odenkirk. He did, amongst such a brilliant career, discover Tim and Eric. <3
why haven't we been recapping empire?
Deleteit's now a wed must
plus anyone else who watches my new fave hindsight on vh1

Vanderpump Rules season finale tonight. It better be good. (Stasi has a breakdown, so I'm all in!)
ReplyDeleteon fleek I wonder if fleek isn't two words put together, or derives from a foreign word or taken from fleck, one of the defn of fleck is spot, on fleek is spot on, on trend, on point? I am word geek
ReplyDeleteAnyone watch the Jinx: Robert Durst? I'm a sucker for true crime documentaries.
ReplyDeleteRecorded it but haven't watched it yet. Hope it's good!
DeleteI think it's good. The guy is crazy. His eyes are black as coal.
DeleteI'm on the BCS train!

Word @Tacky Fries. He broke his promise, I wonder if this will be enough to get Chuck back out in the public world.
DeleteHi Sherry boo!!!
i like mike. i need more mike
DeleteWatching show- no spoiler- but jimmys car is killing it!
ReplyDeleteI feel for Chuck, but I look forward to when he gets better and becomes a kick ass lawyer again....
ReplyDeleteAnd how about next week - who wanted more Mike? Cause it looks Mike-centric next week....so good....
No Black Sails watchers yet? I thought someone on here was saying they were gonna scope it out.
ReplyDeleteI started/stopped the 1st season couple times, didn't really get into it. ReplyDeleteI loved this episode of BCS. I just want to know--how exactly did Jimmy get Chuck home from the hospital???
ReplyDelete@sugartits- I think the point of that scene was to show not only the hardships he faced, but to emphasize the differences between Jimmy and Saul. Saul would've had Chuck committed and cashed out. This was a time when he still stood for something and actually cared.
