American Idol's Kimberly Caldwell Is Married

American Idol alum Kimberly Caldwell married soccer star Jordan Harvey on New Year's Eve in Palm Springs, Us Weekly reports. Harvey plays for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The wedding was Great Gatsby-themed.

      I have never been a fan of Mermaid dresses. May they and the short skirted/long sheer overlay die a horribly violent fashion death this year

    Agreed Meanie, I love mermaid/fishtail dresses. They are the ultimate in vintage glamour to me, but this one is just "off" on her. Something about the fit or proportions of her size and height - not a great look. Can I also snark on the black plastic "red" carpet they are walking on. Tacky even for an outdoor wedding. Oh well, having said all that Kim and groom look happy. Mazel.

    Agree. I remember forever ago that Gillian Anderson wore that type of dress to the Emmys. She won and had to take those short, mincing steps to the podium. When she got to the stairs, she wasn't able to get enough leg movement to climb them. She ended up side stepping/bunny hopping the up the stairs. So much for glamor.

    I think the dress would have been better if the fishtail bit started lower on her leg, closer to her knee as opposed to mid thigh. It looks disproportionate.

    Looks more like a whale tail.
    I'm not saying she's a whale, but the tail is big. My guess is it may have exaggerated her hips too much if the flair didn't start there.

    If y'all would not have said her dress was "off" I wouldnt have bothered to look.

    I do think overall she looks really pretty.

    And although I remeber the name, I couldn't remember anything else about her. I kind of thought she was dark complected with dark hair. I'm assuming her getting married is some needed publicity.

    Well her boobs looked good! She probably chose the higher up fishtail so she could actually walk. All that tulle is too much though. I personally prefer something much simpler.

    Yes when getting a dress for a formal event you have to do all the tests, the sit down, can I go to the bathroom at all, and if there are going to be stairs can I get up them without pulling a JLaw

    Yes the higher fishtail makes her look much shorter and wider, clearly the dress was made for a taller woman. . I personally think mermaid gowns should have stayed as special evening wear for events other than weddings. The whole strapless wedding dress, isn't it passe yet.
