  1. My husband kind of got a job offer in Colorado today. If the money is right I think he will take it. I've been looking at houses all morning! Lol.

  2. Today is my birthday. I have been looking at myself in the mirror wondering how I got to be so old. No answers have been forthcoming.

  3. @krystie. Congratulations!!!! I hope it all works out for you!!

My husband's sister in law is getting on my nerves, she is a control freak who hates to loose control and hates even more that her kids and husband like my cooking. Her husband complimented my Christmas meal, quietly, away from her.

  4. I am trying to coordinate what the fuck we are all going to do for NYE. We have narrowed it down to bar crawling either on the Encinitas 101 or in North Park.

@SYF, @ALNL, @annnnananana and other San Diegans- is there something going on worth noting?

    1. @LadyH
      I'm in LaLaLand.
And I was wondering if I'm the only person who wants to stay in, hang with the mama and brothers families.

I have a family friend that works as bottle girl /cocktails at one of the SD "IN" clubs and I can't even recall the name of it.

      Wish I had UR spirit.
I'm a christmas Baby so I have had my fill of celebrating for a while.

    2. Ah, ok. I knew you were somewhere near me! You got tons of options. I was considering going up there this year but a lot of my LA friends are out of town. Happy belated birthday!

    3. I'm with you @SYF. I can't remember the last time I was out on NYE. I really prefer an evening with jimmies, wooly socks a glass of wine and a movie to going out amongst the unruly crowd that hit the streets around here. My mother used to say that the new year would get here whether she was awake at midnight or not - so I don't even make too much of an effort of stay up until 12 anymore.

    4. We're going to the Belly Up to see Donovan Frankenreiter, then to a friend's party.

    5. I'm all about staying close to home on NYE.

    6. Another stay at home gal, been out dozens of times, just not happening for me. Home, snug as a clean, non-biting bug for me!!

    2. Krystie, think of all the houses you can scope out on Realtor.com if you aren't interrupted by the kiddies.

    3. Thanks Lady H. Last year me and my bestie went as Garth and Wayne for Halloween haha.

Karen, true all my friends will be a little bummed and won't want to hang with me on New Years anyways!

    4. No way! What an awesome costume idea!!!

  6. Congrats Krystie. Colorado is a lovely and unique place. I believe it boasts the healthiest people. Very outdoorsy.

    1. I love me some Colorado. I actually went and looked at places over the summer before he was even offered the job. I dream of owning a ranch/brewery and living in utah those dreams aren't going to come true. We will see what happens but it seems like it's meant to be. It's in the area I was house scouting, nice and rural but still close to city's.

    2. My favorite place in Colorado is Manitou Springs (at the foot of Pike's Peak). I've been there several times and it has become more 'touristy', but it's still a very quaint and beautiful spot.

      Delete
    3. I've never been to Manitou Peak! Looked it up and it looks beautiful. There are so many beautiful spots and cool little towns I don't think I could choose one. Well minus anything East of the Rockies. Need my mountains!

    4. I can't afford to stay there, but I did drive through Aspen once when the trees were at their peak. It was like a forest of gold coins. Beautiful.

    5. Aspen is perfect. I've stayed a few times and it never gets old. I'm not the hugest fan of Vail, but the Glenwood/Aspen area is perfection. I would be living on the other side of that mountain, and it's about a 45 minute drive to Aspen through the canyon. That's a perk for sure!

    6. Colorado os number one pot smoking state!! Enjoy, lol

  7. I'm reading and am surrounded by books and movies here at Blanc Debris. It's in the low 40's and the fireplace is going. Until my New Years eve dinner I'm going to take advantage of the aforementioned entertainment.

  8. Happy bday Karen!! And congrats to Krystie and your husband, Colorado looks beautiful, I've always wanted to go! Happy belated bday SYF! :) I lack holiday cheer too and have a December bday so I understand. I also work retail lol. But this weekend was really nice, I finally got to visit my best friends who live together and we haven't bought gifts for each other in years because we've all been on the broke side and we usually just get together with drinks and games, but this year they surprised me with a few little gifts and then a small Coach purse...I'm the oddball of the group who doesn't care about designer anything but they each have one and named theirs so now I have one and they demanded I name it, I chose "Audrey" because I feel that's classy. So sweet of them!!! I feel bad because I didn't do anything so I'm going to try and save up for a bit and surprise them with an Edible Arrangement delivery or some kind of snack-y gift basket randomly in early January. I hope that's not too lame lol. So my Grinchy heart grew a few sizes this year, not even working retail can kill that (for now) :)

    3. Oh! Edible arrangements are never lame! They are delicious and much needed after the pig outs we all have during the holidays: fiber, must have fiber!
I'm sure they will love it.

      Audrey is cute.

  9. Taking down decorations today. We had a late Christmas gathering yesterday so I had to leave everything up. I am ready to return to normal...but only for one day, tomorrow I pack and we head to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl, gone until Friday. I guess I may finally get to rest next week!!!

  10. Back to work today for another short week.

Total Rewards email keeps popping up with Vegas offers for NYE. Sure wished I could get the slot sluts to go, but temps have really dropped here in SoCal and Vegas might even get some snow. I wouldn't wanna driving the long stretches of two lanes across the desert if the weather is bad. It's tempting though...

I will go to a small family gathering with my kids, puppy, and grandkids and ring in the new year with the ones I love most.

  11. I spent the day doing my annual closet purge. This usually consists of staring at my clothes for a while, then creatively rearranging them so that they look more exciting than they really are, and picking out a handful of items to dispose of. This year, however, I did it differently: way back on Jan 1st I hung every single hanger backwards; as an item was worn, it was hung back up with the hanger the "right" way. At the end of the year, get rid of anything still facing the wrong way. I now have 4 bags of clothes ready for donation!

    1. Cat- good idea!! I too have been getting the itch to clean and purge. I lamely went thru all my wrapping paper, got rid of all odd pieces, got ready for next year. Bought tissue paper to put away this years decos. Idk why, im really into it!

    2. Good job! I love decluttering. Truth be known, I love buying little plastic crates to organise things into more, but it's all good!

  12. I've been to the supermarket twice, took my dogs for a swim at the beach, and am surfing the 'net from the comfort of my hammock. I just love Summer holidays!
