Celebrity Real Estate - Michelle Williams Sells Brooklyn Townhouse

Michelle Williams has sold her Brooklyn townhouse for $8.8 million. The townhouse sold for over a million over asking; it was listed for $7.5 million back in September. The townhouse has four stories, six bedrooms, and a garage. This is the home that she shared with Heath Ledger. See pictures of the property at Curbed.

  2. I could so live there. It's clean and natural feeling and that library ~ swoon ~ and the deck ~ swoon again. Only thing I didn't like was the clinical feeling bathroom.

And heated floors, oh man, the wonder that is heated floors. I stayed with friends in Wyoming who had heated floors (some kind of geothermal thing, I don't remember) and it was amazing. Wyoming is wicked cold in the winter and climbing out of bed and finding your socks meeting a warm floor is like Christmas morning.

    1. My husband installs under flooring radiant heating a lot. It's actually economical as well as just plain nice. Especially in bathrooms.

    2. We are thinking of doing that to our house! Our house is old and the radiators aren't very efficient these days. Seems like heater and cooled under floor heating is the way to go.

  4. on the top, in the middle of that Curbed website---I LOVE that blue living room. So cool. I worked as an assistant for an interior designer for a couple of years but it was very boring. Everyone wanted the same decor---beige and grey...I never went to school for that but obvs my boss did and she found the lack of creative input she could give to be frustrating....Plus its kind of a sleazy industry---often pushing items on clients for a higher commission cut ...But my boss was awesome and we are still good friends and the best reference a guy could ask for.

    1. @Derek, you made me look! That house has a room with a purple couch, I need it. Haha. I could see it being frustrating for an interior designer when people want to play it "safe" and keep it neutral. I recently repainted my red front room, it was hard to decorate with and it made the room seem dark.

  5. Nice townhouse. And it looks like a place where people actually live - homey. Isn't Michelle the answer to the blind from that site about the woman who left her child with family for several days at a time? Perhaps having your home up for sale is part of the reason. She seems like a good mom to me.

    1. Yeah Karen I thought maybe she just thought it better to go through packing up heaths things would be too traumatic and emotional a thing for Michelle and didn't want Matilda to watch her mom go through that.. probably thought ig best to go have a vacation with the grandparents while mommy did the emotional heavy lifting and got their new home all ready..having the only home you've ever known gone and moving cross-country can be traumatic on a little girl so maybe she just wanted everything to be all rainbows and glitter and unicorns when she showed up at new house..
only Ken Jong enty makes everything about a bad mom/ whore with a drug problem. ..

    2. Sugar, well even the hassle of having to keep a home presentable while it's on the market. Always picked up, viewings at odd hours, no offensive cooking smells, etc. That's not convenient when you're raising a child.

  8. For some reason I thought the garage would be on the bottom but it was adjacent. Like you'd ever want to drive in NYC. Only on weekends to the Hamptons I guess.

  9. Stunning home! :)

Listed in September and sold much higher than the asking price in, I assume, December? Can any realtors clarify why it seemingly took so long, but went way over listing price? Can you block offers for 3 months, or something?

  10. I could live in that library. I wouldn't need any other rooms.

  13. It must've been hard for her to say good bye to that home. Think of all the memories it must hold.
