Chris Rock Getting Divorced

After 19 years together, Chris Rock has filed for divorce from his wife Malaak Compton-Rock, TMZ reports. The couple share two daughters: Simone, 12, and Zahra Savannah, 10. Chris Rock previously had divorce papers drawn up in 2006, but never filed them.

  1. Vip- there has been something brewing there for at least 5 or 6 years. Surprised he's filing tho. I think life of a comedian is full, without sticking a family in there. Sad tho.

    2. Something seems strange about the 3rd daughter. Reports in 2010 said she was adopted for 6 months (wtf?). Wouldn't that be more life foster care? She was on the red carpet with the parents and 2 older sisters for Madagascar 2 in 2012. Now in 2014 there is no mention of her in his IMDB bio.

    3. Sugarbread- it may hv been a failed adoption. Child may hv had reactive attachtment disoder or something. Mb it was something one of them wanted more than other. Interesting. Ive also seen pics where she is described as a family friend.

  3. Afternoon all. It's been a while.
I reckon the wife is lucky. He must be the most annoying person in the world to live with.

  5. I noticed that too Sugarbread. There's always three daughters when they pose on the red carpet as a family.
Some articles say she's a "family friend" others say she was adopted from South Africa others claim she is the love child. How confusing for the little girl.

  6. I knew his relationship had been in trouble but then didn't hear anything more so I thought he and his wife had worked it out and he had matured. On the other hand if it ain't working it ain't working and if he had least tried to make it work, that is more than many do these days.

I love his routine from one of his TV special, you can be "married and bored" or "single and lonely", there ain't no happiness nowhere.

  7. I saw a horrendous documentary on a new trend called rehoming. Idiots who adopt children and then decide they don't want the kids anymore and dump them with strangers with no government oversight because there are no laws in respect to foreign adoptions.

Well time there should be. There was on family of kids from Ethiopia that someone adopted in the US or Canada, and the kids seemed like good normal kids actually considering their plight, their father basically gave them up after their mother died and after just six weeks they dumped the kids at a McDonald's? The oldest boy said he knew something was wrong when they got no Xmas presents whilst their couple's birth children did and pretty much ignored these kids.

Seems to me that should have been criminal charges for child abandonment and neglect for starters. They did find a good home for the kids and it was clear they were good kids. WTF. These poor kids are already traumatized and they end up with people who think adopted children are like pets, you can take them back?

The other problem of course is people are advertising for new homes on the internet which is a pedophile's wet dream because there is no oversight beyond hoping that the people who are rehoming these kids have some compassion.

Now in the old days they use to adopt kids for child labour. If they couldn't produce a brood of 12 kids which were all free labour on a farm, they'd have to adopt and those kids were not treated well.

    1. That's so sick!

I agree with everything except your comment, '... who think adopted children are like pets, you can take them back?' ... Pets have feelings too and should be for LIFE. End of story.

    2. that story of the woman from tn who didn't like her russian son so she sent him back w/ a one way ticket saying "sorry can't" is why russia closed all adoptions to us citizens..

A Tennessee woman who ended her Russian adoption by sending the 7-year-old boy to Moscow on a plane by himself is appealing court-ordered child support for him, saying she cannot afford to pay $1,000 a month.
Torry Hansen, who now lives in Redding, California, filed a notice of appeal Tuesday after a judge last month in Tennessee upheld his decision to order her to pay $150,000 in child support.
Hansen was living in Shelbyville in April 2010 when she sent then 7-year-old Artyom Saveliev back to Russia with a letter stating he had behavioural problems and she didn't want him anymore.

Criminal charges were never filed against Hansen but the World Association for Children and Parents adoption agency sued Hansen for child support.
On July 13, Hansen lost her bid to get a judge to set aside an order that she pay $150,000 child support.
In court records, Hansen says she is unemployed and has no income and asks the court to halt the child support while the case is appealed.

‘He was very violent,’ she explained to the court. ‘He tried to kill me, he tried to start a fire,’ the former mother said.

Circuit Court Judge Lee Russell said in his order last month that when Hansen adopted the boy she signed a contract acknowledging that it was possible the child could have physical, emotional or behavior problems that were unreported and even unknown to the adoption agency.
The judge said $58,000 of the $150,000 will pay for the past two years' worth of support and medical fees for the boy in Russia.
Court documents say the boy was hospitalized for three weeks after he returned to Moscow, but they do not say what he was treated for. He was later moved to an orphanage and then sent to another institution.

  8. I loved his "keep your daughters off the pole" routine.

It seems like there was trouble with them for a while. I hope they tried everything they could before giving up. All I know about the wife is that she is gorgeous.

  9. I am a huge fan of stand up comedy. George Carlin is my #1 favorite forever but Chris Rock is probably my favorite living comedian today so this breaks my heart. That being said, Chris seems like a handful to deal with on a daily basis because he is so intense as an individual, BUT statistically speaking, comedians can be difficult partners. A lot of empirical research on occupations demonstrates that stand up comedians have markedly high rates of mental illness (particularly depression), substance abuse, and even present some of the highest levels of psychopathic traits. While this could be due in part to pre-selection issues (meaning that people with these traits are more likely to be drawn to such hobbies or professions in the first place) there are also exposure factors in that features of performing the job are posited to increase these tendencies and traits.

If there is one thing I can recommend to comedy fans, it is to watch the Dave Chappelle and Maya Angelou episode Iconoclast. It is one of my favorite hours of TV, ever. The discourse on race and civil rights with Maya is riveting in itself, but Dave does a superb job of breaking down the sense of loneliness and other stresses of being a comedian. What stuck with me most is how he describes the unique relationship between the comedian and the audience, and how a comedian needs to feed off of this energy. Dave then explains how he had his meltdown and quit in large part due to the deterioration of this critical bond that came at the cost of fame.

WATCH HERE- You will not regret it!

    2. @sugartits- Rock did allegedly admit to cheating, and the divorce has been a long time coming

TMZ reported that Compton-Rock has threatened to keep the kids from
Chris, but he's filing for joint custody. Allegedly, he waited this long to file because the terms of their prenup changed after 18 years of marriage...

Nothing really newsworthy at HSK, other than Chris Brown smoking a joint and dancing with Amber Rose this week at LAs Supperclub. Wonder if he will have his probation terminated right as his case is closing up. What a dumbfuck. Maybe that's why Tran got back together with him- he's going back to jail?

  11. from bling gossip.. so obvious

[Blind Gossip] This actor recently filed for divorce after many years of marriage. However, just because he and his wife managed to keep his relationship off the front page for many years doesn’t mean that the split is a friendly one! It’s not. For some reason, she just did not find his infidelity to be the least bit funny!

She is mad and she wants EVERYTHING! House, kids, cash, generous alimony and child support. She’ll get it, too. His desire to keep a clean public image means that he will pay whatever it takes just to keep her quiet and to pretend that this was all a mutual and friendly decision.

This one will be quick, but it doesn’t mean his personal life will stay off the front page. Because the sooner he settles… the faster he can appear in public with his new piece!

  12. Not surprised. I so wish Wendy Williams was off hiatus right now, too. Chris Rock was just on the show! Ironically, I am going to see Top Five in like an hour. I am so stoked. I totally think comedians are just a unique breed of person. Probably insanely hard to live with.
