Gwyneth Paltrow Speaks To The Haters

Gwyneth Paltrow recently sat down for an interview with Harper's Bazaar. Among other topics, Paltrow talked about the hatred she feels from other women. The Daily Mail quotes her as saying the following:
"Women really need to examine why they're so vitriolic to other women; why they want to twist words, why they want to read about someone else in a negative light and why that feels good to them...But I also know a huge tribe of women who are loving and supportive of other women, in ways that are completely transformative. I think we are a generation of women who are different in a lot of respects, and some of us want to be ambitious, and for it not to be a dirty word."

  1. Oh good, another country heard from.

I'm sure Gwynnie has never said a snarky or defamatory thing about anyone.

  2. Oh Derek, you foolish little fellow. If only you would do yoga 16 hours a day, never eat potato chips, do a total body cleanse every 2 days and shop exclusively at Goop, you would be a 1%!!

  3. Gwyneth Paltrow is an incredibly talented actress who is also incredibly out of touch with the realities of life outside of fame and fortune. She talks about how her father said that once she leaves the house, that's it, she gets nothing, so she's earned everything she's got. No, her acting debut was in a film her father directed. She went to a private boarding school for girls. Her first stage debut was with her mother. Those things weren't earned, they were learned, and if she wants people to stop seeing her in a negative light, perhaps a spot of humbleness is in order instead of suggesting $400 nappies or a $600 "cleansing detox to start the new year".

    1. Assuming her parents instilled humbleness in her. I love Blythe Danner, but it seems to me that for Gwyneth to be such a self-absorbed, out of touch person has roots in how her parents raised her.

Angelina Jolie grew up privileged, but her parents (probably mostly her mother) seem to have balanced that privilege with a sense of what the real world is about.

    2. I love love love Blythe Danner but it pains me that she produced the Goop and I'm sure, shares the same views that her daughter probably learned from her...makes me sad.

    3. Well the thing is I've never heard anyone say a bad thing about Blythe or her father, but then again they were famous pre social media. I got the sense that she was Daddy's girl though, she took the death of her father rather hard.

  4. Oh Gwenyth. I don't hate her like I feel the majority of people do, but she really should just keep her mouth shut.

  5. At this point she might as well become the new Pantene spokeswoman and start cranking out those old "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful" commercials

  6. I don't hate most women. I have lots of female friends. I like a lot of female actresses. There is nothing likable to me about Gwyneth. She is the only female actress that literally makes me cringe. She should ask herself why so many women hate *her* specifically.

  7. I can commit to the no potato chips

  8. Also, I hope the term "hater" dies in 2015.....

  9. Why must she always talk in double speak? People are cruel and hate me yet other women love and support me? Isnt that true of everyone? 7-11 is right, shes out of touch with real life. I think she gets off on plugging 300 tee shirts and doing the wide eyed, ingenue, what! Thats too expensive? Wow why do they hate me? Women dislike you because you're a pretentious nitwit. You have zero in common with mothers who are working two jobs trying to make ends meet, looking to score a $12 tee shirt. Its like i worked for these drs and when economy went bad in 90's, told us wed hv no raises and we hv to cut back. Okay, but then they had condo papers faxed over, country club fee papers, new car agreements- and yes we were in charge of all that paperwork and they can di what they please with their money, but DONT RUB OUR NOSES IN IT. (Not smart and i told them and they agreed. It stopped). So gwyn, stop rubbing our noses in it!!!!!!

  10. It's all gonna be okay Lady Gwynneth, just head on home to Castle Paltrow and console yourself with all your material goods. These heathens will never understand perfection!

  11. In some respects she is right. Some women want to hate just because. However she needs to look at what she said and follow thru and explore her own question ..... Why. Because some women (I.e. Gwyneth) are deseving of the vitriol, negative light, etc. She is out of touch and makes comments that confirm she is such. These comments are insensitive and shine a light on just how out of touch she is. So instead of asking why women are this way, he should ask what she does to bring this out in women.

  12. Talk about burying your pretty little head in the sand! How she can dig deep into what drives a character but do zero self examination is beyond me.

Truly she should take a drive outside of her comfort zone and see how the other half really live. Then just maybe she'll "get in".

  13. Love John Cleese. No one hates him either and he speaks the truth.

  14. No Gwyneth grew up privileged and she was daddy's girl but her mother is just like her but doesn't shove it in everyone's face.. Blythe has come to gwyenneth defense many times defending her daughter's pretentiousness with even more pretentious shit drivel.. Blythe is an older gywennth.

And Jolie grew up with privelage only until daddy left mommy for some side whores and stopped funding their lifestyle. He used money as a weapon and only gave marcheline money when she begged. Angie has very valid reasons for hating daddio..

  15. I like Gwinnie as an actress. I don't hate her at all. I just think she sounds like an idiot when she opens her mouth to talk about anything.

She really needs to resist the overwhelming impulse to give other people advice on how to live. Her website reads like something out of Mad Magazine.

  16. Maybe the sisterhood would be a little more accepting of her if she wasn't such a pain in the arse.

  18. It seems like the women over 40 with the "best" bodies are the most insufferable. Paltrow, Annisten, Cox, Madonna. They're all miserable cows with personalities that nobody wants to be around. None of them seem comfortable in their skin because all they do is obsess over how they look and how fucking thin they are. Give me Melissa McCarthy any day. She seems like she might genuinely be fun. Women don't want to feel judged over their weight or hair or wardrobe or whatever. That's all Goop seems to do is judge people, out loud, on the Internet, for all to see/read, no less. Bitch needs to keep her opinions to herself. People might start liking her if she did (or at least not hate her so much).

    1. Thanks Lisi - trying to nurse Mr. Min Pin back to health from this dang flu. Midnight is a scant 24 minutes away! Hope yours is good as well!

  19. To reiterate regarding the Jolie and her dad. Marcheline called out his assistant in her will regarding the ten's of 1000's his assistant still owed in child support that he never paid/dodged for his 2 kids. Still admire that.
