Kody Brown Rearranges Sister Wives

In case you don't watch Sister Wives on TLC, it's a show about polygamist Mormon Kody Brown, 46, and his four wives, Meri, 44, Christine, Janelle, and Robyn, 37. Kody is only legally married to his first wife, Meri. Us Weekly reports that recently, Kody felt the need to shuffle their order around. Kody has very quietly divorced Meri, his first wife, and legally married Robyn, his fourth wife. Robyn has three children from a prior marriage, reports are that he legally married her to make those children an official part of the Brown family. It will be fascinating to see this play out on their show.

  1. I can't believe Meri willingly gave up her first/legal wife status

    1. I think Meri has felt neglected for a long time. She always seems so sad. She's my favorite and I think Kody treat her the worst of all of them.

  2. To each their own, but if Mr. Snarky ever mentions a sister wife, I would be a widow.

  3. I wouldn't mind having a husband and a wife but I'd always be queen bee. No question about that.

  7. This whole steup flies in the face of human nature, and will eventually blow up in his face. Ugh.

  8. It is never easy being Wife No. 1 in those situations. It only works if you are a rich Saudi man who can afford separate houses or wings in mansions or separate cities and the wives never have to even deal with each other except on special occasions.

  9. Do the wives all share the same house? Or separate homes for each wife/kids? If they're all together in one home, yikes! Can you imagine shark week?!?!

    1. They all have very nice, separate homes. When they lived in Utah, they had one big house, that was divided up into apartment type units.

  10. I'm an only child...'nuf said!

Hopefully Meri can flee and have a happy life. I MO the 4th wife always struck me as sketchy as hell.

  12. 2nd Robyn being shady. Also can't stand Meri. Whiny, dramatic, manipulative, selfish. Needed a huge brand new house even though she has no kids at home? And isn't the entire point of polygamy to be one big happy family? Doesn't having 4 separate homes defeat that purpose? The wives can't even stand each other.

Janelle is the only smart one and she needs to run.

    1. Yes isn't the whole concept of the sister wives helping each other and raising the kids together. Aren't they supposed to be on a farm raising livestock and growing their own food, oh that's Quakers and Mennonites, one wife only.

  13. This doesn't seem right. Robyn's kids have a relationship with their father. It's not as if Kody is adopting them. Why should marrying their mother make them anymore part of the family legally or otherwise? They're blended in already and he seems like an involved step parent.

Also with the exception of Janelle the other three wives all grew up in polygamy so they're used to non-legal or celestial marriages as they would call them.

There's something else going on. Maybe Robyn's ex threatened to take the kids and this strengthens Robin's case?

    1. I imagine as an ex husband I'd not be thrilled with the mother of my children living in a polyamorous situation.Or he's trying to get money out of the situation.

    2. I agree but although they were alone in the marriage I think they just hadn't found another wife yet. I believe they were both part of a polygamous church and raised with it.

  14. Really? He is such a prize four women want him? I am not seeing it and I hate they're dragging their collective kids into this dysfunctional lifestyle.

  15. Why is it whenever you see these families, the dude is always some creepy loser type (maybe it's just me). I can't imagine the low self-esteem or brainwashed neediness that would drive women to do this. It sure as shit wouldn't work for me. A roving eye/mind is what got my ex kicked to the curb. Homie don't play THAT!
