Celebrity Real Estate - RHONY Edition

Former Real Housewives of New York castmembers Alex McCord and Simon Van Kempen have sold their very understated Brooklyn Townhouse for $2.67 million. The couple bought the property in 2005 for $1.275, and renovated it while on the Real Housewives of New York. The couple has since moved to Australia full time.     I'm not sure I'd consider that living room painted in lipstick red 'understated'.

    While I thought they were pretentious as hell when they first came on the scene, I changed my mind a bit after reading something Alex had said about the RHONY. According to Alex, the show she ended up with was not was she had signed up for. These people were expected to live large our of their own pockets for the cameras. It may be why so many have gotten themselves into financial trouble. I think she's harmless and certainly not as hateful and mean as a lot of these ladies. I just wonder what they're doing for money? Would $2 million go a long way in Australia?

    It looks a little better than I remember on the show, but I am no fan of red. They were so obvious and embarrassing about their social climbing maybe they are having an easier time with that in Australia

    Alex wanted it both ways. She wanted to show off for the cameras, but when people weren't buying what she was selling she turned it around on Bravo that they hoodwinked her. Then they fired her, and she obsessively filmed YouTube recaps of new episodes to point out how "fake" it was. Lame.
    I know someone who went to school with her and she was shocked when she got cast because she said she "was just so dull"

    That being said the morocco episodes were funny as hell, when everyone ganged up on her, Luann and Kelly giving her hell was the funniest

      Kels you nailed it! I realized it during the episode where she was trying on (did they even buy any?) very expensive dresses while saying they don't buy art for the house so this is their art. They only spend money on things other people will see.
      You're so right about Alex obsessively filming those tell alls. Not only did she do that but Simon now tweets all of Bravos ratings and claims it's his "company". He loves to respond to all tweets and acts like a know it all about why the ratings went a certain way. He's very nice but it is so creepy because they were fired!!
      They are just so sad. I hope they can relax in Australia.
