  1. Went ice fishing at my parents cottage yesterday, which is 4 hrs north of the city. Supposed to drive back this morning however 35 INCHES of snow have me snowed in :( We literally can't get the cottage doors open.

    1. Gina, did you catch anything? My only knowledge of ice fishing comes from the Grumpy Old Men films..

    2. My father eats pike. And red fin. He cuts up his own shark. I loathe fishing due to a phobia about fish. They freak me out. I hope you had fun! He actually goes out in his boats along the great ocean road coast. He sucks at cutting up & cooking fish. And squid.

  2. Cold like frozen shit outside and a sick little tyke at home. I'm glad we never let snow accumulate on our driveway, was able to get out and take my little one to the doctor this morning. Sucks when you see kids eyes loose their shine when they are sick.

  3. Spa bath. Random songs on shuffle. Champagne. Then hopefully sleep after 3 days of not. Sleeping. The random songs is fun. I usually sit & listen to records and until we get our double turntable, it's difficult to listen to single, random songs. Weird what mix of songs come up. Now it's Kick out the jams (MC5) from a Ben Kweller song.

  4. Oh, & it's in the 30's (°c) this week. So enjoying the sunshine is also on the schedule. I feel for those caught in ice & snow.

  5. Another snow day. At this point, I'll be surprised if we get the 4th of July off.

  6. It'd be great if we had somewhere to discuss stuff like books, music, fashion.....oh, & cats!

    1. Agree, I would enjoy a Free For All post or Free Skate post for other gossip items or entertainment news we've seen elsewhere and would like to discuss.

  7. One of my previous students who graduated last year sent me an email, wanting to discuss this week's Scandal episode with me...
AND he included a link to this amazing tumblr page he thought I would like.

This is why I love my job, friends.

    1. Lady H. Your post made me miss my former job (& students) from the uni i worked for. Best. Job. Ever. *sigh*.

    2. OMG. i love you Lady H. Apparently some of the boys were hot for teacher. However, i was their counsellor, so i was the one they'd come to in order to skip out on classes & talk about music. Oh, yeah and issues. Boy i have some hilarious discussions i had with kids about safe sex. Had to actually hold group talks and hand out dingers and lube and book a few in to the local clinic. I love the young peoples.

    3. What subject and grade do you teach and where Lady H?

    4. @ALNL- I used to teach high school, but I've been working the past few years as either a TA or a lecturer/instructor at the university where I'm wrapping up my dissertation. I am on a fellowship break from teaching for the next few weeks, as I am on the job market now and really determined to stay in SoCal. I specialize in teaching social sciences courses, particularly those related to culture/media, social inequality and criminology.

    1. That sucks calif. I'm a bit like that after the AFL grand final here. Anti-climax. After that for us there's only cricket (which i detest).

    2. And blondy, about the other stuff, do the US have free, or subsidized access to psychologists like we do? Maybe you need some extra support. Xx

    3. Thanks Bee, I have insurance coverage, but I'll try to tough it out. Sometimes too many people in my life are assholes all at the same time. They need to space out their turns with the asshole crown.

I'll just keep taking deep breaths along with St. John's Wart. Ommmmmm.

    4. Blondy - try practicing mindfulness. There's lots of online free resources. Multiple arseholes at once can be overwhelming for anyone. And seriously? A lot of my clients (& me!) Have benefited from CBD and mindfulness exercises as well as certain meditative scripts. Hope you're ok, & don't take on others' shit. Boundaries to protect you girl.

    5. CBT & Mindfulness are fantastic tools. I learned to use a lot of them while in treatment for anorexia and still utilize my mindfulness skills on a daily basis :)

  10. Playing Disney Infinity 2.0. Yeah, it's a kiddie type game but it is fun as hell and I love the collectible aspect of the figures you use to add characters. Oh, and I know I haven't posted in a while but both me and my Dad have had the flu over the past couple of weeks, so while I was sick I didn't get online and while he was sick I was too busy taking care of him. He was so sick, they had to postpone his surgery to put in the pacemaker until tomorrow. But we're both back to 100% and combined we have lost almost 30 lbs. from the illness. I'm digging it because I can pig out on my favorite snack, salt and vinegar chips!

    1. Firstly, hope your dad is okay, & that he's tip top for his pending surgery
Secondly, i didn't realize anyone outside the UK or the colonies ate salt & vinegar chips. Right on!

    2. Best wishes for your Dad's upcoming surgery!

  11. Just watched the animatronic "Liger" aka "Cart #8" being dismantled from the show yesterday! Noooooooo! (I'd post a pic if there was a way.). Now off to Sedona for a few days, then drive back to L.A. to spend a few days with my sis and b.i.l., return rental car, & fly home out of LAX. On the way out, got to spend time in my beloved Topanga and Joshua Tree. I know L.A. is way different from when I lived there, but I still miss Cali. *sigh*

    1. Greetings Trilby! That is amazing! So jelly! You can post the pics to imgur or photobucket. I wonder if they are on reddit?
Try to swing by the Enchantment Resort while in Sedona if you have not seen it yet. Have fun in LA and safe travels home!

    3. Is anything showing up?? I tried to copy one of those href links and it wouldn't let me post it. When I copy the above link into my browser, it goes to the bucket page but won't show photos. Geez, I am the world's biggest moron. Need to get a photobucket and dropbox for dummies book. So inept.
Thanks, Lady H, for the Sedona tip. My Sis should be arriving momentarily and a friend since 5th grade is here already. Should be a great time. Soooo looking forward to it, life has been really stressful for quite awhile so grateful for the mini-reunion, & that my Mom is staying with my four-legged bunch so I can be away. Also grateful for the 2 sets of friends that opened their homes to me for the past week.
Hope everyone at Anarchy has been having a wonderful 2015, I hadn't really checked in since Dec. Sending healing wishes to everyone with ill family members.
If I figure out this dam* photobucket (more likely, my sis will explain it, I'm hopeless); I'll upload more pics and videos - including the Beyonce halftime - when I get back. Have to say, I'm a solid Katy Perry fan now. Way cool chick. My first girl crush, lol!

    4. Trilby was it a liger? My daughter and I argued yesterday over what it was. She said it was a tiger (which would make sense based on the lyrics) but I said it looked more like a lion.

      Delete
    5. Everyone was arguing over that, ALNL, LOL! It was officially called a "Lion" on the production sheets, so you win! But I called it the "Liger" b/c I don't get why it wasn't a Tiger for "Roar"??

  12. I just saw the Kim Kardashian picture on dlisted. I seriously wonder why Prada would even style that? How is being back door gutter slut art? Because it's black and white and sepia toned? Is Prada trying to implode? So many questions.

    2. Bwahahaha!!! I love Michael K!!! Is Kim totally clueless??? She is not cutting edge anything!! At this point she is just a laughing stock!! I wish that family would just go away, but now with Bruce'd transition, we'll probably see even more of these people!! Ugh!

    3. I'm loving your descriptions; the half-time show was awesome. My sister kept saying the lion/liger looked like CGI in real life, haha. Anyway, I was trying to look back and find your post from before the game, with all the last minute security details, and I can't find where it was posted. Where is it?

    4. Never mind, I found it in the TV free skate section from 2/1. I thought it was posted a day or two before the game, so I was having trouble finding it at first.
