In between eating my feelings and periodic boughts of depression by not running the football in the final moments of tje Superbowl thus sending myself and most of Seattle into a cycle of despair and agony i will live without television and its constant reminders of a grimly challenging sunday.
Im reading. Books. Old ones. Ones that dont reference sports.
I too am in a deep funk this week, mostly over Seahawks I guess. Yes I think the whole state is to some degree. I could not even watch tv earlier this week let alone the local news! Even I was reading! Sigh...... Guess the rain is not helping things.
Btw, I love how Kirk Douglas described sex with the other LucilleLeSueur (aka Joan Crawford). He said it was, "quick, clean and professional." (The Divine Feud. A mitzvah.)
Speaking of the whole shark business: I've gone back to school part-time to work on an MS in Library & Information Science (yes, I'll be an old maid librarian, but I'll be an old maid librarian with a hell of a lot of good stories to tell, damn it!) at Simmons College, whose mascot is none other than Stormy the Shark, who really does run around campus for photo ops in a suit just like Katy's dancers wore (a recent photo welcomed her back to campus after her trip to the Super Bowl). I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure Stormy is female; while the grad programs are coed, the undergrad school is still all-female. Keep this fact in mind...
In a somewhat related note, a number of my wiseassed female friends refer to That Time of the Month as "Shark Week," for reasons which should be obvious.
You can probably see where this is going...
Imagine my immense amusement last fall, when my alma mater hosted its annual week-long school spirit event, called...you guessed it...Shark Week.
You can't make this stuff up, kids... ;-)
(In all fairness, Simmons really is a damn good school, and has one of the best library science programs in the country, and a long history of sending strong, smart women into the world; I just have to be a wiseass about the shark bit, though.)

DeleteI feel your pain. I'm still in mourning over the Packers loss in the NFCC game. It'll take approx 210 days to get over. Bring on training camp!

DeleteQAG, I feel you! But you know, I think this loss will have our boys playing angry next year. And I like when they play angry.

I may be a Saints fan but I love Seattle and was really pulling for y'all. Super sad Sunday.
Delete@Saintsfan. Sean Payton went to my high school. And I hooked up with him a couple of times after college. Super nice guy btw
DeleteI have heard that quip too. Ms Crawford doesn't play around ;-)
DeleteSaints Fan - I love NOLA. Pulling for a Saints/Hawks rematch in the NFC championship next year.
