Jeremy Renner Divorce Update
Jeremy Renner doesn't know what the big issue is in his divorce from Sonni Pacheco. TMZ reports that the couple have a prenup in place, have been sharing custody of their daughter since their split, and that Renner has been paying child support to Pacheco since the split. Meanwhile, Pacheco is going for sole custody of their daughter, claiming that Renner's home is not safe (although she was quite comfortable with its safety while she was living there), and claims that Renner hasn't been paying child support. Renner has retained lawyer Laura Wasser.

Never marry someone who isn't with the program, Renner. Jeez.
ReplyDeleteI don't know/care if this was a bearding situation, but it sure seems like someone wasn't on board with whatever it was and is now trying to pad their pockets.
This is coming from someone who worked in domestic relations and criminal law. HtG these two need a pill.
Also when I read her name, I hear "Hey, Pachuco" from the Mask in my head.
DeleteAmen. Sing it.
DeleteWhy is bearding still a thing? Most of the US doesnt care. And why shoukd we waste energy on worrying about pinheads in deeply red rural areas?
IMHO Renner should stick to home renos with the hubby. He sucks as an actor.

He's no Olivier, that's for sure. He's not romantic comedy material, either. So who cares if a dude in the Avengers was gay? No one, that's who.
DeleteAgree Snarky, he's not romantic comedy material and even if he were, does it really matter?! I think the fact that certain actors/actresses try so hard to hide the obvious brings more attention to something that otherwise wouldn't be a big deal.
DeleteThe audience for action movies is mostly males. To be successful an action movie has to appeal to a worldwide audience. It is not just an issue of middle America. There are places in the world where homosexuality is still a crime if not a great religious sin. This is why Hollywood will not risk having an openly gay action movie star. No one is willing to test the theory that no one will care. It is a matter of money.
DeleteAnd if an action star comes out and his career suffers, how much of that is people annoyed by the lies so much as the fact he is gay. I think maybe if you didn't feel the need to put on a farce and just kept your private life private regardless of the whispers and questions, other people would have more respect for that person. I think of Zachary Quinto. Not sure how his career has or has not suffered since coming out.
You really need an openly gay actor to become a big movie action star to know for sure no one cares. But no one is going to risk that kind of money.
Rupert Everett an openly gay actor who doesn't do action movies had said he understands why actors stay in the closet because he feels his career has been limited because he has been open and he works in England which is more tolerant and he does movies and roles where I imagine the audience could care less.
Quinto has a huge career. NPH has a huge career. Ian McKellan is huge. Lee Pace isn't hurting for parts, though he's not quite open, he's not closeted, either. I've read a lot of gossip that suggests Everett's career suffered because he's an ass who treats people poorly and bad mouths other actors in the press. It's hard to get work when you do that. See Heigl. See Le Bouf.
DeleteAgree snarky. If public likes you they will overlook anything.
DeleteBut Quinto and NPH never pretended to be something they were not not as far as I remember so I wonder if that is also part of the problem. NPH is also not an action star nor really a movie guy. TV and Broadway have always been way head of accepting openly gay actors. . And Lee Pace I am not familiar with. Ian McKellan was never in the closet as far as I know and his success in the US came at an older age. Now if Matt Bomer did a hard core action role, hmmm.
DeleteWhen you market someone has the macho action star or a heart throb for female fans and they are in fact gay, different impact.
Looked up Lee Pace, he has a very interesting and diverse list of roles. So I see him more as a true actor than an action movie star - the latter can be limiting even if more lucrative.
DeleteI see Matt Bomer is going to play Montgomery Clift in a bio pic called Monty Clift.
DeletePersonally I loved Renner in the Bourne series (I liked him better than Damon and I do like Damon). I'd rather see the next Bourne installment be with Jeremy's character. His debut in the series was very well written and I love Rachel Weiss too. I also thought Renner was excellent with Affleck in The Town. (I'm not a fan of the Avengers so I'm not gonna watch that anyway). Renner was also really good in an episode of House (which is the first thing I ever saw him in).
DeleteI don't think that MANY of the leading men in Hollywood today are convincing as love interests. They may look really good but I don't see much chemistry at all. One great couple that had loads of sexual chemistry was Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek in Desperado. That was believable. Most I see now is not. Keira and Matthew Macfadyen in Pride and Predjudice had it in spades and there was very little physical contact. Same scenario with Daniel Day-Lewis and Michelle Pffiefer in Age of Innocence. Damn fine actors.
Luke Evans is an example of Hollywood trying to un-ring the bell. Evans is a Welsh actor has always been out since he began acting. He's done London's West End (Rent, Miss Saigon and Piaf) before moving on to Clash of the Titans, The 3 Muskateers, Fast & the Furious 6 and he's in the newest Hobbit trilogy. When he was cast as the lead in Dracula Untold, Hollywood freaked out about his open sexual orientation and tried to rope him into a bearding situation. It's stupid, he's out, he's been out for years. It doesn't seem to be affecting his bank account, but he's also a very talented actor.
It would be great if more actors could/would keep their personal lives private.
Definitely an NQR situation here. How can one person say something so drastically different from the other?
ReplyDeleteYeah, dont know real deal with these two, but she comes off a tad shady. If all is how he says/ thinks, i dont know her deal either. Of course, thats a big if.
ReplyDeleteAnd, as i always say, if someone is in and doesnt want to come out, ITS NO ONES BUSINESS!!!!
ReplyDeleteHere's the thing, though - it was safe when she was there to make sure it's safe. Maybe there was a pool fence (are they not required by law in Cali?) when she was living there, but then found out the pool fence wasn't maintained. Maybe she's using that as a divorce tactic. Who knows? But I'll never shade a mom trying to keep her kid safe. If all you have to do for partial custody is keep your pool fence safe, keep your damn pool fence safe.
