Guy Fieri Officiates Gay Weddings In Miami

Food Network star Guy Fieri spent his weekend officiating the weddings of 101 same-sex couples in Miami, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The massive event occurred during the South Beach Wine & Food Festival. Chef Art Smith oversaw the event as the host. Gay marriage became legal in Florida in January, and that is when Art Smith began to plan the event. Fieri officiated the ceremonies in honor of his late sister; she was a lesbian.

  1. I have an irrational dislike for Guy Fieri but I guess it's a nice thing to do. I never got mass weddings, though.

    2. Seven and unknown-also dislike him. I think anyone who makes such a effort to achieve a "look", is a douche.

    3. Seven your dislike isn't irrational. He's worthy of your dislike.

    4. So do I. He looks dirty to me and I could never even think about eating anything he cooked.

  2. I still like him okay, but even I can only take so much of Diner, Drive-Ins, and Dives. What happened to his sister?

  4. That's interesting. There was an article I read about him and his doucheyness a while back. His former DD&D producer said he was quite homophobic and had to be warned in advance if the owner(s) of the restaurant were gay. Fieri (who changed his name from Guy Ferry) never denied it.

So either he's had a change of heart or he's decided to do damage control.

    1. Isn't he in the closet? Remember the drunken fight he had with his bf?

    2. @cali those things have floated around but ultimately neither gay nor straight people want to claim him.

  5. Nothing says personal like a mass wedding,.Sorry to hear his sister passed from cancer. Everyone I know up in Santa Rosa area always wants to meet at one of his restaurants. I have to pass due to the douche factor with him.

  6. DAMAGE CONTROL was the first thing I thought when I read this story.

Why does the Food Network play "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" fifty times a day?! I'm so sick of that show. Even my 90-year-old grandma doesn't like Guy and was asking me why he's on TV so much. I had no answer.
