  1. Downton was good last night, lots of stuff packed into one show.

Looking forward to the return of House of Cards. The previews are killing me.

  2. Better Call Saul- it makes me anxious, amused, and captivated. I love it!

  3. I vow not to miss BCS tonight.

Agreed, Downton Abbey was gooooood last night. Loved how The Count learned of Edith's secret and how Cora nipped that one relatives anti semi toms in the bud. Too awesome.

  4. I don't think much of Patricia or the rest of her lightly talented family. I also think BOYHOOD was undeserving of a single nomination - it's a gimmick with no payoff.

All that aside, she KILLED IT last night. I was honestly not paying her the least bit of attention and then went back to the tv and rewound to catch it. Wow.

    1. @Guido, I love Patricia solely for Medium. She and her co-star, I would've sworn they were actually married people!

I haven't seen Boyhood but I agree with you, it's very gimmicky and what's the ending? How do you end a movie that is essentially a documentary and not really a movie?

  5. ***GIRLS SPOILERS***
*Even Elijah (who I adore!) would suffer dearly if he ate my Cinnamon Toast Crunch!!!! Blasphemy!
    *Budussy 4 life
*Ray and his little diorama...So cute. UMBRAGE!
*100 downloads?! Woah, Wow, Wonderful! Dear God they're delusionally obsessed with themselves.
*"We are nothing like She & Him!"
    *Mother Teresa- what a famewhore!
*Should Adam have been notified of the abortion beforehand? Did he have a "right" to know? Intriguing line of examination here for Girls.
*It's nice to have a new character that integrates fundamental issues of feminism, sexuality and agency along with insights about men's rights.
*Something tells me that Mimi-Rose may not be as independent and stable as she lets on. MRH's whole "independent woman who wants men instead of needs them and won't let men distract her from her dreams" shtick feels sorta contrived. More critically, MRH's ethos is completely inconsistent with her actual behavior - immediately getting pregnant by a new partner (apparently not a first either) and shacking up with him in only a month. Just like Hannah, MRH may be faking it until she makes it - only she is much more convincing. Plus let's be real- MRH is an associate of the dysfunctional as fuck Jessa, and I don't think Adam is even capable of attracting or maintaining a healthy relationship with a sane woman. He likes doting on women and needs to feel important. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm excited for next Sunday!

    3. Thank god I'm not alone on this @VIP. It's hard to dislike Gillian Jacobs but there is just something so fake about her!!!

  6. I finally get to watch the new season of GOT. Yay! Well kind of. Got through a few episodes but the hubby left for Arizona today and he gets offended if I watch it without him. Now I have to play catch up on all the shows I missed while he was here.

  7. I can never throw shade at Leto because he was completely awesome in Dallas Buyers Club. AWESOME! He is on my shade free list.

    1. @auntliddy, don't forget Requiem for a Dream. He killed it in that too. Totaly shade free

  8. @Krystie, you mean the last season, right? New season starts April 12. WINTER IS COMING! But if you've watched through season 4, you HAVE to see the GOT blooper reel (warning: contains a couple of spoilers). Oberyn winks!

Someone needs to crowd-fund a Leto Hairbrush campaign.

    1. Yeah season 4. I should probably sell my soul to the cable company and get HBO before April :)

    2. If you have a mobile device and a friend with an HBO GO subscription, they can hook you up. HBO actively encourages it. \o/ I can't wait until al a carte cable becomes a thing. :)

    3. I canceled HBO, Showtime, Starz...everything because Uverse was sucking me dry. So now I watch all my shows on that movietube.cc website - I love it! Speaking of...I need to watch Shameless from last night.

    2. Looks the same to me, @Gina and MissInfo.

    3. Wanted to add: I'm on a desktop, if that maybe makes a difference.

    4. @Gina- I noticed this morning that the mobile version has a darker background color, which changed the font of the posts. It's not a huge change though.

      Delete
    5. Yeah, I'm on mobile. But my background colour is white it's just everyone's posts and replies look different to me now lol apparently we all got a different update!

    6. I'm on mobile and yes there seems to be a slightly different font and shade of blue?

  11. Am I totally crazy or is that Valerie Harper I'm watching on Two Broke Girls??? Don't get me wrong, absolutely adore Rhoda, but I thought her Docs gave her just months to live about a year ago!!! So happy to see her looking well!!!!

    1. @get off my lawn- Yep, it's Valerie. I can't wait to watch her cameo

  13. Watching Fashion Police still trying to feel out the dynamic. Guiliana seems less tense with Kathy. Kathy doesn't even pretend to make any actual fashion comments its 100% insult comedy. She's also rocking Kristin Wigg's hair style and occasionally sounds like Cheri Oteri. It's throwing me off.

    1. Gah. Sounds awful. I just don't think Kathy was the best choice to replace Joan. I think it should be a fabulous gay like Mario Cantone or Isaac Mizrahi.

    2. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch Fashion Police again. Still too sad about Joan's untimely passing. :(

    3. Forgot to add that I do like what Brad brings to the table. He was a good addition.

      Delete
    4. Yes I like Brad too. I'd like to see Guiliana moderate with Brad, Geoege and Mr. Jay. Brad is a stylist but he's funny too.

  15. ***BCS SPOILERS coming up as soon as I paint my apt Hamlindigo!***

*Nice open of Slippin Jimmys in Cicero to show the origin of Saul's name
*Saul is a bong kind of guy! Sweeeet!
*Great play on the Fair vs Legal defense Betsy! Saul built his practice on dirty money, so it's only fair that he's the guy that guilty people hire, right? (Yet the Kettleman's don't see themselves as guilty- they earned it!)
*"You assume that criminals are going to be smarter than they are!" Yup. But the ones that are, you never saw coming. Trust me on this.
*The arrest put the five-oh on Nacho and his business so I guess we will see him again next week. Can't wait for those two to team up and butt heads with the Juarez boys later.
*Sassafrass Glow!!! I am dy(e)ing with laughter over here.
*LOL at Saul's Mrs. Doubtfire-esque answering machine recording too
*That billboard trolling scheme was priceless. We finally thought something good was going right for our guy. But the #1 rule of hustling is that you gotta make your own circumstances, right? ;)
*I wonder how much the debate of "I'm building a brand!" vs "You're ripping off a brand!" was a tongue in cheek reference to BCS spinning off BrBa and trying to secure it's own place
*Remember how in the start of last week's episode, Saul said "I'm no hero" into the phone as he was about to warn the Kettleman's about Nacho? He was right.

    1. just finished bcs.. loved all his scams
i thought the kettlemens were going to hire saul/jimmy but this isn't over yet
      we're not guilty it's overtime...right..
i think nacho and saul and mike are going to somehow team up to take down the kettlemens anyway
good notes.. glad i could watch it as it aired

    2. S'll good, man. Loved the beginning & was thinking it was strange a rich, business type guy kept calling them buttholes. :)

    3. @Diane B- LOL! That part seemed normal to me because my friend Franny acts like that when she's wasted.

@sugartits- yup. That's what I was thinking. They'd need Mike because there's too much heat on Saul and Nacho in this case.
As for the stolen money justifications, those logics have always been the crux of the franchise in that they highlight the gray ambiguities in morality. We tend to behave in ways that we can morally justify to ourselves and others (my family needs the money because I'm dying vs. it's a retainer not a bribe). However, when it suits us to behave in ways that violate the social contract, we merely expand our justifications.

    4. Lady h- o completely LIVE your insights on BCS, they are great. Alot of stuff goes over my head, because my mind wanders so much-( where'd he find a camera man? Is that the way up to a billboard? Do billboards really hv walks around them? It didnt look like crane was close enough to lead to billboard stairs, huh. How cld he pull that guy up? Is he really that strong?)- so with all that crap swirling in my brain, i miss syuff, lollol. Oh and why shld the brother be so upset if saul did scam that? Because he promised to go straight? And i just last night flashed on his brother is played by michael ontkean, of lenny and squiggy fame!!

    5. Meant love, love your insights. Do u watch Americans?

      Delete
    6. Thanks @auntliddy! I have not seen the Americans. I will have to check that out sometime.
I usually watch each ep of BrBa/BCS multiple times- there are so many subtle clues and Odenkirk's dialogue is quick as hell. I hate missing things!!!

I'm thinking Chuck will be hurt that Jimmy is lying to him and scamming again. I have my reasons for thinking that Chuck's illness is mental, but I see a lot of ADHD and OCD qualities in Saul too. Jimmy seems like an all or nothing kind of guy. He needs to buy 100% into something in order to believe it- or to sell it. Remember that epic BrBa line on how he once convinced a woman he was Kevin Costner because he believed it himself? He's floundering now because he can't be Slippin Jimmy part time and Jimmy the Lawyer otherwise - he's struggling to find a coherence between these two.

  16. Loved BCS last night as well. Because we missed the last epi we were a little confused but got up to speed pretty quickly. Loved it when dad went to get the paper but I'm confused as to why he wouldn't want his dad to know? Is it the blatant rip off of his firms name? Is it the hero scam? Guess we will find out!

    1. @Sherry you need to see E3 for those parts of E4 to make sense

      BCS SPOILERS
*Chuck is Saul's brother, who is said to be incapacitated by electromagnetic hypersensitivity, but his illness is still rather mysterious. I'm of the minority opinion that Chuck's illness is psychologically rooted. In E3, we learn that Jimmy promised Chuck many years ago that he'd give up the Slippin Jimmy shenanigans for good. So he broke his promise to Jinmy, lied to him about it to cover it up AND fucked over Chuck's firm.

      Delete
    2. Sorry, Jimmy broke his promise to Chuck*

    3. Oh and Jimmy sticking his head in the tent saying " Hers Johnny!" was epic. Lol

    4. Lady- i think brother schizophrenic for sure. It was very moving when he asked the brother to take off the silver blanket, like he was just so sad and weary for brother.

      Delete
    5. @aunt liddy- paranoid schizophrenia or severe hypochondriasis, anxiety and agoraphobia. My first thought was paranoid schizophrenia because they made it a point in the pilot to specify that Chuck has been unable to work for a year.
