Amanda Bynes Still Under Conservatorship

People reports that despite her continued improvements, a judge has decided to extend the conservatorship over Amanda Bynes, 28. The next hearing to determine her future will transpire on June 23rd. Her parents retain all control over both her finances and medical needs. Her DUI case from September has been dismissed. People quotes a family source as stating: "Amanda is doing much better from where she was months ago. She has her own apartment and is much happier. She and her parents are getting along and Amanda is clear-headed, more focused and has more independence."

  1. In other words, the medication kicked in.

Good for her but why did they dismiss the DUI? Didn't she blow over .08?

    1. The DUI was probably dropped for similar logic to Lohan's various charges. Maybe they had her blow again when they knew she was sober, then averaged the tests, which brought her under the legal limit. Problem solved!

  2. Yes really not fair to drop the DUI unless you can argue she was mentally incompetent at the time but DUI is not an offence where intent is an issue, you either are or are not operating the vehicle with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. But perhaps in light of her legitimate mental health issues they were giving her a break -was is her first offence? Must say California is one lax state when it comes to DUI and driving offences in general.

    1. not fair to all the other people who are charged and convicted and have to live with the suspension of their licence and its consequences etc unless she agrees not to drive for a set period of time

  3. Well, she is mentally ill so wldnt be making good decisions as to whether or not she can drive. Mb judge thinks if she is improving, why charge her for stuff she cant control. Does she hv a license now? Because if not, jenelle evans cld give her a lift, lol

  4. Well, that's great that she's doing so well, but wth with the dismissal of the DUI charge? Or as @auntliddy says, maybe they figure she couldn't tell right from wrong at the time?

  5. Honestly I have never heard of a DUI being dismissed in CA. NOTHING you can do save for having a lower BAC than the initial read can get it dismissed unless they proved that the meds she was on could have shown the same..Although they also count that as impaired. Not sure how they finagled that honestly.

  6. She's doing good, parents will take her off the meds any day now. :/

  7. OK please correct me if I'm wrong here. I thought Bynes' 2012 DUI was the arrest where alcohol was involved. In the 2014 case, Amanda had no alcohol in her system and only small traces of Adderall. How a schizophrenic got a legal prescription for amphetamines is ludicrous but doctors are in no way immune from being shady fuckers. My guess is Bynes had a legal Rx for it and could argue the levels were not enough to impair her driving.

    1. Just look at the trash bags full of prescription drugs they hauled out of Michael Jackson's house (under every name imaginable). Not to mention the shady docs that performed his (and others) extreme plastic surgery. If you have enough money, there will always be a doctor ready and willing to "help you" out.
