Director James Cameron and wife Suzy Amis Cameron run an environmentally-focused private school in Calabasas, CA, called Muse. This Fall, Muse will become the first and only school to serve 100% plant-based food. The Hollywood Reporter quotes Cameron as saying of the switch, "It's about raising kids who don't think it's strange or exotic or worthy of a pat on the back to be doing the right thing for the living biosphere."
Good gravy, this sounds like a storyline from Parenthood.
ReplyDeleteA totally vegan private school in Calabasas is so very Hollywood. You want to make a difference? Open an environmental school in a rural area where the people shop at WalMart for Cheetos and don't know the joys of fresh produce, not a private school for rich kiddos in the Kartrashian neighborhood.

DeleteHe will always be a pretentious douchebag.
I get my Cheetos elsewhere.
DeleteBut he wants a pat on the back because of the school? Gotcha.
ReplyDeleteI just submitted an application to teach there. My teaching philosophy statement focused on how I would do my part for education, equality and diversity by ensuring that EVERY student smells like patchouli oil and weed!
Deletelol@Lady H
DeleteHe's offering a private alternative. No one is forcing anyone to send their kid there.
DeleteI wish I could punch him in the face. I wouldn't even worry about getting arrested for assault because no one would blame me.
ReplyDeleteLOL!! True Karen!!
DeleteThat's The Valley for ya. Lol
ReplyDeleteAlso home of the Tree People.
But there's Ed Bagley Jr, who I used to see often on his bike and In same lines at stores, he's a Valley Dude (too) and he's cool.
If he really wants to make a difference, he should open a no-kill animal shelter.
ReplyDelete^ Thank You!
DeleteHow precious of them.
ReplyDeleteIts a great idea but look at all the shit that goes with it!
ReplyDeleteWhat if a kid just fancied some scrambled eggs WITH CHEESE...
ReplyDeleteSoy cheese, Skippy.
Delete& powdered eggs?
DeleteReally? This is the best use of your zillion dollars? If you want your child sheltered from the real world and all those nasty little tykes who prefer pizza over poached kale, then home school them.
ReplyDeleteHe's not spending your money. Relax. It's a private school. He's not foisting his values on a public school system.
