  1. Survivor. Yes, I am a basic bitch when it comes to my reality TV.

  2. New Girl was pretty funny last night. I love Winston and am over Schmidt. He's obnoxious.

  3. Mentally prepping myself for the last Parks & Rec episode. Grey's better be good this week to soothe my sorrow.

  4. Empire and Nashville but I'm turning in early so I'll watch them tomorrow

  5. Die Hard was like my favourite movie as a kiddo, just the first one tho.

  6. For some reason I cannot find Empire on my line up anymore. Has Direct TV gotten in a spat with someone? That happens with them apparently.

  7. I have DirectTV and I have to search for Empire too. I think it's because the Fox channel is down the list from the major networks. I still haven't watched Empire, but have a few episodes on the DVR.

    Is The Slap worth watching?

The previews for the new one with Ryan Phillippe looks good, but I'm skeptical about getting attached to any new shows. As soon as I like one, it'll get cancelled. Dirt, Sexy, Money anyone? You can blame me for the death of that one.

    1. I loved Dirty Sexy Money! So many good people in it, I don't understand why it went away :(

    2. @CalBlondie

The Slap, I'm looking fed to tonight's episode. I just watched first 2 episodes to catch up, I'm rarely one to remember TV scheduling but I'll be watching it tonight. So, I liked it and my friend really liked it. I'd give it a go, but I recomme watching the first 2 first for sure. (The Slap happens in the first one) Zach Quinto is hot looking in it, so that's a plus. And they live in San Fran.

  9. Forever was good (like always). Still have Person of Interest and Perception to watch and it's Wednesday which means - Grimm marathon tonight!!!

Hey has anyone seen Night Crawler yet? We bought it and watched it over the weekend and Jake Gyllenhaal was CREEEEEEPY!!! I think the biggest creep factor is that it is completely feasible that everything in that movie could be true.

Renee Russo was very good in it as well and it's so refreshing to see an actress over the age of 50 who hasn't jacked up her face. I give it two thumbs up!

    1. @MinPin, haven't seen Night Crawler yet, it's in the queue. Watched The Prisoners with Hugh Jand Jake this weekend, it was ok. Some holes in the plot, but worth a watch. Jake was really good in it.

    2. @MinPin I love your new pic!

    3. I liked "Nightcrawler" and was surprised Jake didn't get an Oscar nom. And you're right, it could very well be real and if it comes out that it happens, I wouldn't be surprised.

    4. Thanks Gina, I like it.

@Pink I'm surprised that Jake didn't get a nomination either. He kind of seems like he falls into the Leo category where he's done several movies that he should have been nominated for and even won (Brokeback) but he gets overlooked or snubbed.

He seems to have a lot of diversity in his movie catalog unlike 95% of the rest of Hollywood. I'd still love it if they did Prince of Persia part 2. Then again we're still waiting for Salt 2.

  11. ANTM fans...did anyone hear that Mirjana from the last cycle (the one who was hookin up with Keith) was one of three people murdered Tuesday night as part of a triple homicide? :/ It was apparently drug related and they did catch the guy. So sad :/

  12. I'm always a day behind so tonight it's Girlfriend's Guide followed by today's Wendy Williams. Tomorrow is Empire. How did I survive without a DVR five years ago?

  16. "The part of John McClane in Die Hard was first offered to 73 year old Frank Sinatra."

    Not true.

Sinatra starred as Detective Joe Leland in 1968 in the film adaptation of the novel The Detective, written by Roderick Thorp.

Thorp wrote a decade later a sequel to The Detective, named Nothing Lasts Forever. He kept the same main character, hoping that it would ease the way into a film adaptation starring Sinatra again. Sinatra, who was 64 at the time, wasn't interested.
People at Fox still wanted the film produced. Schwarzenegger was later approached, and the story was pitched to him as a Commando sequel, but he wasn't interested either. Finally, they started production with Bruce Willis, and a few changes to the script (the name and the age of the main character for instance).

    1. Stuff like this is why I'm suspect of everything I read. It used to be you would only read lying ass headlines like that on the cover of the National Inquirer. Now you can read shit like that in mainstream "serious" publications. Journalism is dead. That's why people are so outraged at Brian Williams.

    2. Mun- the people who even remember real journalusm you mean. Now this Brian Williams thing, even if he embroidered his role in the landing, was not the story he reported on accurate? Isnt that the main thing?

    3. It's true that the folks that remember what real journalism is are getting more and more scarce.

As for Brian Williams he straight up lied about being inTHE helicopter that was shot down. That's a lie and if you can't believe truth in what he reports, you'll never know when he's making things up or embellishing.

When I was in college you could get expelled for plagiarism (trying to pass off someone else's writing as your own). What Brian did wasn't written plagiarism, but it feels pretty close to the same flavor lie. The bottom line is Williams has lost his credibility with a large majority of his audience and deservedly so. I'd would think in serious journalism that's game over.
